  1. Could someone please ID this car. Saw it on Mythbusters and it reminded me alot of a 510. The rear threw me off though... Caprish looking.
  2. Just wondering Aux or someone else. If I do take this gun in to get certified or whatever, what acctually happens? Do they put me in a database? Check serial #'s? Give me a fingerprinting? Etc. Also, since I already have the gun and technically don't need to register it since it is an antique, will I have to relinquish it for the 11 days? I am going to a shop to ask tomorrow, just wondering what you all know.
  3. Ya, La Habra. He is on this site. As for money, I am in college and alot of it has vanished. I am quite good at AutoCAD though and I do a fair bit of buying and selling (for profit on various things) as well as JY parts pulling so I still net in the black.
  4. I feel you. I saw this one on classifieds and thought it was a great deal so I jumped and got it.
  5. Ahhh. Yes he does! Top piece Bottom piece Merged Pieces. There is a small crack on the bumper, which I plan to fix with fiberglass. This is supposed to be a 2-piece kit from somewhere in Japan. Seems to be pretty decent quality. Wooohooo.
  6. It consumes 7.65X55 Argentine (AR or Beligum) rounds. It is still available. Norma Soft Point is $31 for 20 shots, the Serbian stuff is $9 for 20 (heard it is decent... supercheap though...). The guy is giving me a bunch of ammo with the gun though. Not sure if they are manufactured or made by someone... I won't fire it if it is made from someone else. Wouldn't want to risk my face.
  7. So I guess that leaves two questions. 1. Should I take the gun into a shop and have them register it to me. (If they do, exactly what happens besides the BG check and such. As in, do I get written down in a database as an owner, do I recieve papers or something?) 2. Do they sell locking cases for individual rifles? If so, how much are they/where do I get them.
  8. http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a222/fishingitup/Guns/ Just bought an 1891 Argentine Mauser over craigslist.org. The seller is saying that since it is an antique I do not need to do any paperwork or background check. I do not know if rifles are "registered" or not to a person. Do I need to do some paper work at the gun shop to be completely in the clear? As for transporting a gun in your car, It is true that the weapon must be seperate from the ammo, but can the weapon be in the trunk of say, a wagon (nothing physically locking it away from you), with the ammo in the glove, locked. Thanks guys!
  9. Is that for the front axle? Doesn't really look like an R180 to me...
  10. Ya I do. They seemed a little reluctant to acctually help out when I went. Seemed more into selling me a new rifle than actually spending the time to help me choose something right. It was probably just a busy day... I had MUCH better success at a place called the RC "Gun Exchange", I will probably buy from them if I don't find what I am looking for.
  11. I am looking at krags and .303 Enfields right now. Something about a 110 year old gun makes me smile. The ballastics on the SKS aren't very good. The krags and the enfields are good though somehting imbetween the 30-30 and the 30-06. Unfortunately they might be more on the pricey side for gun as well as ammo.
  12. Well... I quickly found out that M1 Garands are not cheap or eays to find (this became my dream gun real quick... classic wood... 8 shots... 30-06, what else do I need!). I shot a 30-30 yesterday and liked it alot. I think the 30-06 will be better though. Any suggestions for comparable guns (SKS??? how much is it? Hard to find?). I prefer semi-automatic, but I want to buy a relatively cheap used gun. I think the Mosin Nagat is sounding like it right now... unless you all know otherwise...
  13. Ya. As long as it is the same diameter though I would think the machining (considering if a program must be written for say a CNC - I know little about the process) would be the same.
  14. Just wondering if any one has done this? http://centerlinewheels.com/wheels_detail.php?mw_id=37&sw_id=310 I know Centerline sells forged alluminum wheel "blanks". Would something like this cost a fortune to CNC a simple pattern into? If so, any other suggestions? I think it would be really cool to do a one off group buy sort of thing in 17X9 if the machining is reasonable. I made a spread sheet to guestimate their weight based off of % material removed and the unfinished wheel weight. Now if I can only get Centerline to give me a straight answer about the weight...
  15. Wow. That would be awesome. I am living up in Davis right now, but I might take you up on that. I want to first take a basic hunter safety lesson/course then I'll contact you.
  16. Ya they are about the right size. What threw me off was the way that the flares ended into the body. Doesn't look like the ZG's, but it could be.
  17. You might want to wait... I heard that the Rota RB's: http://www.rotawheel.com/rb1.htm Are coming out in 16X8... Rota is kind of a pain to deal with though. Also, they were supposed to be hear in April, but I haven't heard.
  18. I can't see if those flares have dimples. I don't think they are ZG's. They are more likely to be old MSA flares, not sure if they still sell them.
  19. I would check MSA as well for the Fairlady stuff. The hoods are the same for all the cars. But later S30's have vented hoods. The mirrors can be had for as low as $300 on Ebay. I haven't seen them go for less in a long while.
  20. I think I am going to just get a cheap used, non scoped rifle. After I go through hunter safety I am going to look for an old WWII rifle, something that uses 30-06 or one of those old russian things with an equivalent size round 7.6Xmm. I think that will be a good start. The lady at big 5 was very helpful, told me to check if it is "shot out" and recommended I go to "the gun exchange" where a bunch of old guys can tell me the best way to do this.
  21. Being in college myself, I would personally go Z31. Not because it is gay. I just don't like the miata look. Plus the Z31 can look so bad ass and tough. Alot of my friends with Z31's that are tastefully done get alot of comments about them. I love the convertable wind in the hair thing, but not for every day. Personally, I think you should wait for a Z32... or look harder. My roomate has a Z32 with 180k on it N/A in pretty good condition (has a small swipe on drivers and pass side), runs strong, clean title, costed him $3100. Or... Get a Foxbody.
  22. I like both. If you really want to cut up corners get a Miata. If you want a nice set of wheels you can take your girlfriend in and enjoy some spirited cornering in, take the Z. Also... Is this Z turbo?
