  1. Griz, We can only dream of your Z collection, well done! They are all beautify looking cars. Very classy web site, but need more pictures.
  2. I have had my car for ~27 years, here are some pictures of its life with me. From when I first purchased it to its current state.
  3. I have a 73 240z, just sold my 76 280z for a 68 Mustang (wife need something to haul the kids around in). I have had my 240z since Nov 1980! It's been with me when I graduated, a number of girlfriends, two wife's and 4 kids later. You would say it was family!
  4. Smoorenc, What guages are you putting in? I seem to think that I need more guages than the dash can hold, i.e. in the stock places. I have been looking for guages that have both Oil Pressure/Oil Temp in one guage and then something like Water Temp, Battery Charge in another guage and still be able to get the clock, Tack and Speedo. Has anyone been able to do this?
  5. Maxtor, Check out this web link for diff ratio's and what car to look for at the auto wreckers. Then do a search on Quaife or KAAZ or LSD to find out what you need for a posi. Welding the diff will not work on the road or should I say, is not recommended for the road. http://www.geocities.com/inlinestroker/ratio.html Kim
  6. Brian, As you can see my car is not ready to go to Canby this year. If I can catch a ride down with someone then I will be there, but it doesn't look good right now. Will definitly be there in 2008. Looking forward to some pictures. Kim
  7. Maybe you should all meet at the Canby Car show on June 9th and 10th at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds, Canby Oregon. See the web site for more details: www.datsunsNW.org click on the events tab and select Canby07 or go right to it from this link: http://www.datsunsnw.org/canby07/index.htm Lots of very nice 510 and Z's with all kinds of engines.
  8. Can you explain how your using the surge tank works? i.e. are you pumping gas from your gas tank to this surge tank, then pumping the gas to the engine? Why 3 lines? Thank for any clarification, pics would be nice as well.
  9. Awesome car! Love the way it takes off ....
  10. EvilC, which one did you get. Checked out Baker performance and they varied from $55 to $76 depending on what size you want. Jegs sells them for $69. https://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productitem_10001_10002_759070_-1_225722
  11. I'm assuming you had to take off the black paint before they were zinced? Very nice!
  12. Vinhzxt, Do you have pictures of the side vents on your fenders? What did you use as the vents? Nice job on the front spoiler, didn't notice the difference until you posted the gray car for comparison.
  13. That's what this hobby is all about, driving the car .... Well done!
  14. Well done! You must be quite excited about the progress. Your going to have lots of fun this year!
  15. I like how the hood and side vents were done! Just have to loose the back bumper and put on a euro 240z bumper. Car has lots of potential, well done!
  16. So which Headers from JTR is everyone using, they sell two types for the Z: 1) Block Hugger - 1 5/8" Primary tubes, 2.5" collector-Ceramic Coated (DAT-402C) $300 Can't tell if these fit on the LSx engines or the LT1/350 2) LS1 Shorty Headers - 1 3/4" Primary tubes, 3" collector-Ceramic Coated (DAT-405C) $475 These ones are advertised as being able to fit with John's Cars mounts. I'm assuming #2 is the one people are using but hoping they both work as $475 seems a bit high for short headers.
  17. Sorry, testing new signature block. Hopefully, you can see my car.
  18. M1Noel, Thanks very much for the info. John didn't tell me that I needed a different motor mount and when I got his kit. I thought that mount was missing. Just another thing to add to my list. Here is a picture of where my car is right now. Over the holidays I will be welding all the seams to try and stiffin up the frame. 240z's are not as stiff as the 280Z's. Sorry unable to post the picture. Will have to create a web site to post my pictures.
  19. M1Noel, Were did you get most of your extra parts? Having trouble getting 98-02 Camaro Oil pan and the GTO Master clutch cylinder. Not clear if I can run the stock manifolds or do I need to go to headers? I have the 05 GTO LS2, going into a 73 240z.
  20. m1noel, Thanks. I ordered most of the kit from John's, didn't get the AC yet as I wasn't sure I could use the one that came with the GTO. The guy I purchased my engine didn't have the master cylinder. Thought maybe you might have access to a auto wreckers that might have one. They don't sell the GTO in Canada. Is there another master cylinder that might work? I guess the 05/06 corvette should. Has anyone used a different kind from another vechicle that bolts up as clean as the GTO one?
  21. M1noel, Is that the air conditioner or the power steering unit on the right front of the engine? Do you have connections to get another GTO Master Clutch cylinder, I'm in need of one as well as Oil pan with the pickup at the back. I'm about six months behind you, just got my engine and starting to clean up my engine bay for painting.
  22. Vinhzxt, What do you use to join the two wiring harness together? Just purchase a 05 GTO LS2 and I have a 73 240z. The electical sounds like the hardest part of this engine swap. I'm currently going through as much of the forms on this as I can, so I am searching.... Thanks
  23. I've been meaning to do a search on this topic as my blower doesn't do anything until it's on #3. And it blows like most cars do on #1. Excellent job!
