  1. Thats cool.....those pics could have been taken in Canada or the US. Its a Zmall world!
  2. One important item to consider......it will be near impossible to touch up a given area if you ever have to. Powder Paint is applied very thick and since its baked to allow the powder to flow(~about 350F) it will never blend in perfectly and not recommended for rebake. Its not very sandable and polishable either. As far as bschiltz's comments..not quite correct. There are thousand of powder coated parts exposed to the sun. Wheels, roof racks, architectural parts ...lawn furniture...etc. Modern powders contain UV inhibitors. BUT...that doesnt make them ideal for car bodies. Name one car manufacturer on this planet that PPs exterior car panels!!!!! Its been tried and turned down.... Dont bother.......
  3. He only painted the inside of the car. I guess you can paint the outside but you will not get the shine and will probably have orange peel. Powder is great tough stuff but is not typicaly used on large A surfaces. I use to be in the business....once upon-a-go. There are reasons this is not being commonly done.
  4. Which 300SX....S31 or S32?
  5. Great site...I just burned up a couple of hours! Thanx!
  6. There are a lot of revolutionary and innovative cars on that list...but a few are far from cool ... A Hudson...Not cool...old! Citroen DS...amazing but not cool Miata.....Cute but not cool Checker Marathon...Sort of coolish but it really doesnt cut it..its a TAXI! Benz 6.9...LOL,,,nice but not cool. Overall a good list that could always be argued by somebody. Lets not confuse technology and innovation with COOL. Innovation does not make a car cool.....In my mind a cool car is one that turns heads no matter where its driven. No matter what TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS are built in....peoples heads will crank over as you drive by and they will think....wow I wish I had that car...."Cool"!
  7. The first thing that jumped to mind is ....POOOOFY And is that a crysatl door ...shift ...knob......DISCO!!!.... Sorry couldnt help myself....MY BAD!
  8. Mine was fine...no noticible vibrations or anythng else.
  9. Its a painfuly slow process but works. To speed things up you should have a scale and outrrigger on each side.....better yest have one on each corner.. and I will in the future! The trick is the have the wheels resting as close to the same levearge point on the out-rigger as possible...and to have them sitting on the same point on the scale. DONT put it right on the scale....the weight of the car will crush it! And yes I have done it with driver in the car....my SX is far from a high tech racer car so I get it close and live with it. It may not be perfect it but it helps to dial the car ....bathroom scales and 2x6s are cheap! For what ists worth....the suspension is all budget Godspeed stuff and handles like its on rails!
  10. I dont feel crowded at all.....since I got one of these....
  11. Not much at all...this is how I corner balanced my SX... Yes its a bathroom scale...... It takes a while but it works. Nice install!
  12. I have the same conversion ...but did it over 10 years ago..... Now that you mention it, there is no need to trim the differential end. When I read the post I saw the taper comment but it didnt sink in. ?
  13. Great info!! Now I need to confirm which 280 set I just made and then get a set of the third version. Excellent.......Thank you!
  14. Nice work Jason.......Well done with the show placing as well! Congrats!
  15. Thank for the info Nigel....will confirm!
  16. Thanks RoostMonkey! Well....what a surprise when I made up the 280Z straps! They are shorter than the 240Z pair. Roughly 1.5 - 2 inches depending on the side. Anyway...they will be test fited into a 76 later this week. Anyone with a set laying around...please measure the length of each. I would like to confirm if all the 280Z straps are the same!
  17. FYI...the first run of straps is sold out and the second run is ready. Due to unforseen cost increases straps are now offered to hybrid members for $90US + shipping. 280Z straps will cost the same...and will be available VERY soon! Please see my other thread to learn more. Cheers
  18. As it turns out...the straps are the same width and the mushroom ends are exactly the same. The two differences are the length of straps and the J-bolt bracket. So on that note....would you 280Z guys care if I made the J bracket the same as the 240 Straps? I have everything I need to begin making the 280 units! All I would have to do is change the length of the straps blanks!!! I could have them ready for next week!! Let me know.......
  19. No worries....the 280 straps were delivered this afternoon. Thanx for the offer! I will drop them off to my shop tomorrow and should have something in a couple of weeks! Does anyone know if the 280 straps were the same for all 280 years? Also...there are SS 240 Straps available........
  20. I will get a set of OEM 280Z straps soon and begine measurung them up for production!
  21. For sure...proved it today with my SX track car. It wouldnt crank because there was paint on the intake maniflod where the battery ground was connected to. Filed the paint off, cleaned the battery ground terminal and reconected it. Bingo...cranked over right away! The SX has a double battery ground...one to the frame, the other to the power plant....
  22. Well its about time David! Great to see them in..... Thanx for the post!
  23. Interesting but not my cup of tea. I like the stock pods.....but am considering HID.
  24. LOL....after 2 weeks of parting out a car while working on my track car the garage was in CHAOS FILTH and CONFUSION! So I picked up a broom ...used the shop vac....put everything away in its place...even the garbage...and I feel Im in control again! I dont have to step over anything! Until next time!
  25. You are right in track. The RB25 is a great deal and would easily provide that power level with stock internals and extra boost. Just search..................
