Domzs Posted November 1, 2012 Share Posted November 1, 2012 I'm thinking about getting new wheels for my 78 Z . Just wondered if anyone's running Rota RKR 17x8.5 +10 ( Ad on Ebay by Wheelbay ) . I've got probably 1/4" - 1/2" clearance between the wheel and strut on factory 240z suspension with 8" wheel +0. 280z springs are larger if I am remembering correctly. This is with no spacer; its a very close fit, but it does fit. I had to cut a section of the weld on ring to make this work, and clears fine with regular old lead weights too. The rear tires may scrape a little on the fender on full bump if your car is lowered. A little trimming of the fender flange may be needed, but not much. lorenzo Posted November 30, 2012 Share Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) I ran a 235/60/14 tire on a 14x7 positive 2 offset wheel for years on my 280z with stock suspension (front of car), car was lowered too. In comparison, a 17x8.5 positive offset wheel with a 225/45/17 tire is only 3mm closer to the suspension, so I am thinking that it may work 8.5" +10 will not fit a car with stock suspension, I highly doubt them to fit a car with 2.5" spring coil overs without spacers, but I could be wrong.
