I've been searching and can't find my answers so....

1) How big are the ZG flares?

2) Will they fit on a 280ZX? With modifications.....

Thanks in advance

This came up on the "280zx widebody kit" thread that is going on in the vendors forum as well. There is a picture that Corpcrim posted that I'll try to repost (it doesn't work from this computer, but it works on other computers I've logged into the thread from). I don't know anything about this car, but it has ZG flares on it, so it can be done, whether these are specific to the ZX or modified S30 flares I couldn't say.

I have zg's on my s30, and I dont see why they couldnt be made to easily work. They are just very thin fiberglass, quite flexible and would be easy to modify with a little glass and resin.

Im usually not to found of the 280zx, but that widebody one is absolutly nasty! I love the front end and the zg's look great.

I have also see zg's on 300zx's with wats and that sure does look good at well!

The ZG flares may not extend the ZX's width much at all, seeing that the ZX's guards are already flared? The guard edges on mine have been rolled to give a bit more tyre clearance with the front guards being massaged and pulled out a bit as well.

Its all about personal taste but my choice would be to cut, add and shut the present flares to make them wider, retaining the original general shape.

SOMEBODY BUY THE FLARES $200 FROM THESE GUYS.

or better yet some fabricate some to mimic the zg's but fit zx's and make millions off of. (not realistic $ wise) better yet i will give it a shot, got nothing to lose

ALSO LOTS OF FIBERGLASS BODY PARTS

If there is a demand (ie people who have real, actual money to put down) I know betamotorsports has entertained the idea of fiberglass and carbon fiber parts on occasion (although I don't want to speak for them, you would have to contact them to know for sure, so PM Johnc). Johnc ended up doing some carbon fiber 280zx hoods after enough people came up with the cash IIRC. That thread should be in the vendor's forum somewhere. Also, you might convince Paulo, the guy that was making all the carbon fiber tail light panels and fascias in the vendors forum.
