I was trying to have it shipped here at work with the last two packages. They gave the package back to me yesterday because they can't ship personal items international. I'm headed to UPS in an hour.

Sorry for the delay.

Btw, those that are looking for a affordable tool to port match their cylinder head. This is what I'm using:

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=44141

and this router controller to turn down the RPM:

Its been working great for me so far doing all kinda of cutting on my 280z.

Well, I can make room on my CNC this week or next, for those needing a rail. What is pallnet charging for rails? I think rail material is somewhere around 12.00 a foot, atleast last I checked with arizona marine thats what it was. I could make the rails for around 85.00 plus shipping, as long as we could do 10-15 of them. If only 5 or less, probably around 100.00 plus shipping. Does this sound fair?

How big is that thing?

I bought this grinder. Same color, same collet, same size, same specs off ebay for 30 bucks:

http://www.toolbarn.com/product/eagle/5000/

It, to date, has been one of my top 5 tool purchases. It is small, light, has shaft play, and it literally makes grinding as easy as writing cursive (if you've got some elegance doin it ;))

It's about 3mm thinner than a generic yellow highliter marker, and about an inch or two longer. The exhaust runs back down the air line so it doesn't blow in your face, and it has a finely adjustable speed. The collet is a little small, but that means you can use smaller tools and get into smaller places :D

Don't let the low horsepower fool you. I used this baby and a quality dremel bit to chop down some welds on a heat shield that the PO's mechanic put on my car. Took about 30 seconds a weld without forcing the bit (not good for tools!).

I would recommend it for fine work, as it's not the time in which you get the job done, but rather the quality (this is your car, right?)

The harbor freight grinder is pretty big. Its nice since you have the aluminum shaft to hold onto close to the collet. I couldn't use it without the speed control though. It runs way to fast out of the box. Its over a foot long. I'll measure it when I get home.

Edit.... The link says its 14.25" long. BTW, I got it for $30 in the store when they had a special.

Thats a good price. I'm machining my own since I have the RMR tool for my 2JZ build. I hope you can get 10+ people that need this rail.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey all,

I have received my plenum bases and flanges and haven't had a chance to do much as of yet...

Anyone have some pics of some finished product all assembled? If so, please post some... I'd love to see some variations in plenum and TB placement and if anyone has been more creative with the design

I have the runners cut and all tacked up. I'm going to test fit the (head flange/runners/plenum base) this weekend and mock up a plenum out of cardboard. I have all the material along with the throttle body here or in the mail here. I should have the plenum mocked up by next saturday if my 3" tubing shows up by then.
