trwebb26
As the title says. Be descriptive with synthetic/non-synthetic. If you run different weights for the winter/summer. Thanks!

johnc
Whatever I have a few bottle of. Sometimes its Mobil 1 10W/30 or 15W/50, sometimes its straight Valvoline 30W, sometimes it Chevron Delo 10W/40. On an easy driven street L6 its not that important. On my race engine I ran Redline 20W/50.

mario_82_ZXT
Please enlighten me as to why do people run so much thicker oil on their race engines? Thanks, Mario PS Chevron 10w-

thehelix112
Mario, Because race engines are designed to operate at a much narrower temperature range (in most cases) and they get friggin hot. The easiest way to get `stronger' oil that is less likely to break down is to go with thicker stuff. FWIW the local datsun guru recommends 40-70W for race engines. OlderThanMe
At ZdayZ Mr. John Stewart and Scott Moschetto and I were having a conversation on what oil they each use. Mr. Stewart said that he used 15w-40 non-synthetic for a diesel engine. He said that it sticks better but I was I don't remember his other reasons. Why do y'all use the 15w-40? I used 10w-40 for a while but changed to 10w-30 and noticed it revved better. thanks OTM
