Ferrariferg
Beautiful! Your car has helped me to make up my mind on what to paint my car I think. Just something about a gloss black that I just love.

Exceptional interior, exterior and engine. Of course have a few rust spots to take care of. But this one is my love. Also have 1983ZXT, and 1983ZX non turbo, i purchased for my son. Pictures of the motor rebuild of our 83 nt. This was our first time, so its really cant be to hard!. Wife thinks I am regressing back to my teen age years.. Guest O0 Ia
Hello, from a new member. I own a two-tone brown 1982 280zx NA 2+2 that I bought back in August 2002. The car has over 200k miles on it, and as far as I know the car is stock. I'm currently in the slow process of restoring it, and with luck will have finished by next year. Sorry, no pics for now. PurePontiacKid
I don't know if this is okay, but I thought I'd post an update on my car! My car is a '79 280ZX with the following mods: late model taillights, headlight covers, under bumper foglights (just put them on today!), changed the old turbine rims for a set of the stock six spoke rims, catalytic removed (previous owner did it) with stock piping going into a Flowmaster muffler, a cone filter, MSD Blaster 3 coil, painted some of the underhood components, and removed alot of the vacuum lines... I think that about does it! lol Now time for the pics! And a video!
Niku-Sama
heres mine nothing special '79 2+2: no real mods or any thing, just some paint, the mirrors i painted and the rear bumper i painted and got rid of the chrome peice on the front, it was all scratched to hell. the last pic the plastic topper is just set on there its not bolted down or any thing s its got rusted sheetmetal from the old bumper on it still and the studs broke off this bumpers topper. minimal rust, just at the rear rorner of the rear wheel wells, interior is ok, dash is starting to go. so no mods that i know of other than "missing" cat, i installed a blaster 2 (if you can call that a mod), and the gears are really short so there may be a different rear end in it. freeway speeds (~65-70mph) are close to 4k in 5th. almost 87,000 miles at the time of posting, i have had it a year and i bought it from the 2nd owner who was a dumbass (Mr.STP) and also managed to put 62,000 miles on it in about 4 years. i have the origonal window sticker and it retailed for almost $13,000 new in Kentucky. it also has a 120Mph speedo, which i dont think i will ever go that fast because of the fact of the short gears. MadMaxDallas
Nice car Niku, very similar to mine. I felt the same about needing taller gears, but actually they will do 120 from my calculations. But all is not lost, I have a friend who is a transmission specialist, and does alot of the race cars here in Dallas. He is going to put in a a Jatco L4N71B for me. I will have to shorten the drive shaft a bit, which is not to expensive, but having the Over Drive will be really nice. Maybe drop 70 mph from 3500 rpm down to 2800 rpm. Probably not be done till February, but I will keep our S130's friends with auto transmissions informed.
Niku-Sama
not sure i want to swap a 5speed for an automatic in this one but i have been looking for an 810/Maxima because i may be making alot of runs to seattle and back and el paso and back so i'll keep my eyes peeled for this transmission. i take it it can handle a bit more horses than the other transmissions? Duh, didnt read you had a 5 speed in it. Here is a link that will help you in figuring out what you need to get the rpm's down (Rear end wise) http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/differential/index.htm http://www.geocities.com/inlinestroker/ratio.html Somewhere I have a link, that will let you enter in your gears, and it will tell you rpm vs speed in 5th. If I find it I will post it.

Smokescreen
Niku, That Z looks very straight and I like the mirror concept. you may have just "talked" me into painting mine black. I'm thinking black hood to match maybe?. Are you planning to paint the front chrome piece as well? Keep up the good work.
