rturbo 930
WOW. Note to self: trailer new project cars home.
Netrix
Hah looks like you had some hillbillies put that thing together. Makes me think of my friend who bought a Dodge Challenger from Arkansas. The add said: "Rebuilt motor top to bootum" and when they picked it up the motor was in his living room. When they got home one of the baggies was labeled "door scruws". All that said, atleast they tried. Although that stuff on your car is just plain dangerous.
ab0z
Hah! that is awesome! Fortunately the car is now in the hands of someone who's not dangerously inept.

MoNkEyT88
Big V8 rumble = loose hardware, it happens. I'm going through replacing fasteners with the correct Nylock/lock washer/loc-tite/spiral lock.. etc.. hardware.
janaka
Glad that nothing serious happened on the trip home. Get it sorted out and always remember more is better
MoNkEyT88
More stuffo. Missing... rear driver side strut to lca bolt nut/washer/rubber. Bonus fix (having 2 more more datsuns).
cockerstar
Having parts cars is an absolute must if you want to be able to do things in a decently fast manner! All of the lose bolts remind me of my fathers '69 camaro project. We've tightened and retightened bolts on that thing a multitude of times because of the cam. I think It's really time to break out with a bottle of blue loc-tite.
rbpowered280z
hey, whenever you get around to making that cf dash, count me in. ill pay upfront, let you do your thing, i would LOVE a cf dash. either that, or ill just make an aluminum dash..............CF FTW!!! MoNkEyT88
Yeah, I had to reset my priorities, they were getting out of whack. If you cant tell. First should be the frame/rollcage/chassis/engine&trans fitment, and then bodywork (cf) and then re-blasting, and paint..
MoNkEyT88
Okay, here are some parts for my upcoming lower control arm project. And some other stuff. It's -5* right now, so working in the garage isn't a high priority on my list, but I can stock up on stuff for spring!
EMWHYR0HEN
Did you make those T/c rods yourself? They look short. You might want to lengthen it if you want to run a lot of caster.
MoNkEyT88
Yes, I also thought the compression rods looked short. No, I got them with the last 240z I bought. It wouldn't be hard to make a longer rod for them.

MoNkEyT88
Awesome. Awesome to the max. This thread is most entertaining. Yeah, that square tubing brace isn't very appealing, I'm going to build one from round tubing. Now, I'd like to create one with two mounting points on each side, so that it doesn't come out of square and create a parallelogram. Now, I know that the diff mounts to the car via some other bars, so I don't think only having 1 mounting bolt on each side of the brace will matter. getoffmyinternet
Just put more zipties on it and you'll be fine. You mean the mustache bar for the diffy? Yeah, that crossbrace is just for the suspension verticals--keeps the a-arms square. I thought welding on them would make them brittle or crack because the original steel is heat treated, but hey if it works, I'm putting in a finned cover soon so I'll have to do something similar. Probably not that crucial so long as they work. I already drilled holes in my verticals to mount a fuel pump, which will have to move with the new diffy install. Kudos! MoNkEyT88
Got some more parts in the mail today.. Also, decided to go for a drive.. in the 5 degree weather.
g9m3c
in the 5 degree weather. I bet that LQ9 cranks easier in 5 degree weather than my 260Z with flat tops does in 70 degree weather.
MoNkEyT88
Yes, the 750CCA optima battery starts the car every time right away.
