md614
Hey I got a set of watanabe RS 16x9.5 (-19) and 16x9.0(-13) from 240z Master. Im getting to the point in my build were I need to mount the wheels for fender flare fitment. Im running stock spring perches with 1" lowering springs. Does anyone have any idea what tire sizes would be for best fitment? What brand of tires do you recommend? Thanks
jtmny1999
I got Yokohama's 245 45 16 they look good on my rims, thats prob the cheapest tire size you will find. Its hard to find wide tires for a 16 inch rim =| Do you get enough clearance on stock perches?
md614
I was told there was enough clearance with stock perches. I guess I will be checking after work.
WizardBlack
If I may, where in the world can you get the bigger RS Watanabe wheels (or Panasports for that matter)? Looking for 16x9/9.5.
NZeder
I have RS Watanabes for my zed which has stock spring perches and lowered spring like your setup. The rims I have are 16x8.5 -6 and 16x9.5 -19. I have 225/50/16 on the fronts and 245/45/16 on the 9.5" on the rear. The only pics I have are with no springs installed so I could check the rear custom flare and inner guard so I have blocks of wood that are just a little under a fully bound spring = the car will not get this low on the road. The rims clear the stock spring perches with no issues. You can see a few pics here on my website. http://nzeder.net/phpws/index.php?module=photoalbum&PHPWS_Album_op=view&PHPWS_Album_id=
Lunar240z
If I may, where in the world can you get the bigger RS Watanabe wheels (or Panasports for that matter)? Looking for 16x9/9.5. Like the OP stated, from a member on the forum: 240z master. and back on topic. 245/45/16's fit best imo, and they're coincidentally one of the easier sizes to find. any wider than that, and you're hard pressed... 240hoke
Yup 245's are about all you can find unless you want R compound tires. It sucks but thats the way it is. I run 245's all around and they are all stretched, I wish I could run 255 in the front and 275 in the back but I can only wish. Kuhmo makes a V700 that is a 265 I believe.. but thats R compound. md614
Thanks guys. It looks like it will be the 245s. I checked last night and I do have enough clearance to my spring perches. Finished pics due in a few months.

greenmonster80
Sounds like you got the tire sizing all worked out. I like using the BF Goodrich Radial t/a tires. I use a 295/60/16 for the rears and a 235/60/15 for the front. 10.5 jj rear and 9.5 j fronts. I like the way the tire looks on the rims and the wheels fill out the overfenders to say the least. BF tires haven't let me down yet. Although I never tried racing in them.
S30TRBO
If I may, where in the world can you get the bigger RS Watanabe wheels (or Panasports for that matter)? Actually 9.5" are the largest that you can get in a 16" wheel. 13"-15" you can go up to 12" wide. http://www.rs-watanabe.co.jp/pay/al8r.htm Looking for 16x9/9.5. I bought my 1st set from Joji at http://www.wheelchoice.com 8.5"/9.5". I sold my 9.5" and bought another (2) 8.5" from my friend Eiji who owns http://www.datsunspirit.com You can also check http://www.takumiproject.com
