Toni L
Continued with exhaust. Unfortunately ran out of Argon gas, but looks like it will sit in correct height (and car can be low). New custom driveshaft. Pipe is 76 x 2.4mm
EF Ian
Nice work, especially as you are doing it all on the ground.

Toni L
Exhaust was amazingly quiet with only those small silencers (without boost off course) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwpspGv3wC4 Yesterday I started to make carbon / aluminum switch panel. I think it will be pretty nice.
Toni L
And some finishing work with switch panel.
Toni L
It was time to change flushing oil away. I saw nothing special except oil colour. Not good thing using E85 ethanol fuel in first starts and not getting oil warm enought... After that. New oil and filter in. Bleeding rear brakes and ready to make some mapping With my friend helping online we made whole new fuel and ignition maps and it runs smoother again. Throttle pedal was limited to 50% at first. Rear brakes are too small and got some fire problems in brake pads but soon it will be ready to dyno. Boosting only 0.55bar at now. Have to try next with full throttle Some video again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kIHVTjW73U
Toni L
Ride height check after exhaust build. Everything looks Ok. Front airdam is the lowest part of car. I liftet suspension up 25mm after that. Looks doesnt matter at this time. After some testing with cardboard and different colours I desided to go with headlight covers (inside black) Friend helped me with sticker (or what it is called. ) Even headlight cover brackets painted black (it will need black screws too) Edited January 7, 2015 by Toni L
Turbo6.0
By far the coolest 2+2 I have EVER seen! One of the best S30 cars I've ever seen too! Keep the updates coming!
Toni L
Exhaust now opens manually with switch, and there is enought flow when needed (through 4.5" pipe). I used powerful linear actuator as motor ( 330 pound max lift). That is IP65 protected and I made heatshield too.
RebekahsZ
That's gonna be louder for the driver than for the by-stander. Exhaust exiting under car is super loud inside the car. Can you find a way to turn it out? Maybe the turbo will absorb some sound?

Mostly when its used I will drive helmet in head In dyno we will find out what difference it makes in power curve.
RebekahsZ
I can't wait to see what effect it will have on power. Please post those results when you have them.

Toni L
I have spent some time creating Evo2 engine. Then assembled doors. Still missing some weatherstripping. Friend helped me to make stickers from image that was my design. Finally it was time for first test drive! Without doors and hood Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFQUrZjmXNk Then installed doors and mirrors.
EF Ian
Very nice, won't be long before its finished then. Just wondering why you went with the numbers instead of leaving it plain?
Toni L
Just wondering why you went with the numbers instead of leaving it plain? I wanted to see how that thing looks what I have planned many years ago. This is not regular clean classic Z so I want some oldschool racing-look There might come some gold / black stripes to hood and roof also. Stickers are always easy to remove if I don´t like them. When it finally goes to trackdays, looks doesnt matter any more.
TheSoggy
That looks so good. I also have a white 2+2 and your car has always been an inspiration. The matching wheel centers and numbers are really cool.
Toni L
Thanks. I had bad luck in first dyno session. One day before car started running with only 5 cylinder. In dyno we tried everything (spark plugs, wires), but one coil was broken. Now I got more spare parts (I bought 3 new coil) and that should not happen again. Car is now running fine again..
