LowCarbZ
I found this ad on a local classified, it's out in BC and looks like a great restoration but still the price... By the way, that's Canadian, so in American it's around $25,000. http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1971-Datsun-240Z-W0QQAdIdZ103955618
MJLamberson
If he gets that asking price I will eat my shoe. But no, I have seen a few go for more then that on ebay, they wernt 100% stock though so idk if it counts.
Dayz
I don't want to say you are wrong, but 32K Canadian is around 25K USD. I think you did the equation's wrong...or let me know if our dollar is worth more!!!
LowCarbZ
Yeah i'm a dumbass I did the euqation wrong and added instead of subtracting. I'm runnin' on long days. Wow, I feel retarded. Gonna edit that post hahaha!
zedman240
What they did under the bonnet ruins it for me; that finish on the metal components in that gold colour rather than a yellow zinc makes it look like someone let loose with a can of gold paint. Nice restore except for that!
B00STDZ
What they did under the bonnet ruins it for me; that finish on the metal components in that gold colour rather than a yellow zinc makes it look like someone let loose with a can of gold paint. Nice restore except for that! It needs some gold rims to match and a gold Z emblem...
m4xwellmurd3r
yeah, all the gold coating kills it for me. it's not yellow zinc plated (he did it on EVERYTHING, look at the hatch latches)
AK-Z
Not the most expensive. I remember seeing a 432z on japan yahoo auction for WAY more than that
capt_furious
For 32 / 25k, I'd expect real cadmium plating and not hokey gold junk out of a rattle can... Nice car, VERY nice, but not $25k nice.
ArnZ
That plating/paint job looks so wrong, not even close. Might as well put some of these on there
LowCarbZ
Agreed on the paint nonsense. I didn't think it was close to worth that. I mean they just don't seem to be a very "collectable" car. I had always wanted a Z and eventhough it's ten years older than I am, the car was on my "to own" list. So I pulled the trigger and i'm glad I did. But never did I think it was collectable. It's more the type of car you buy to beat like a red headed stepchild for fun on weekends. AK-Z
That gold plating is nonsense . If was going to be effective with it, he should of used it on some of the hot parts to dissipate heat.
woldson
I don't want to say you are wrong, but 32K Canadian is around 25K USD. I think you did the equation's wrong...or let me know if our dollar is worth more!!! Nope, last I checked your buck is worth more, never thought I'd see the day...... Something like 1usd to 1.25 canadian.
LowCarbZ
^ nah i've got a daily update on it. It's around $1.00 CAN is equal to $0.80-0.82 USD
attworth
All the gold "plating" makes it look like an old steam train, or Model T. Definitely too "old" for a Z. I might pay half the asking price.
Z_Rac3r
although I agree with all the above posts, and the gold paint... ... BUT he does he points for creativity and styling. He might be dreaming with the price, but the car does look clean. I kinda like the accent the gold gives it... but i would never personally do that. 91_4x4runner
25K and it doesn't even have a gel cell battery?! Not to mention the PCV hose isn't 100% clean. Ruins it for me.
junglist
There was one that sold on ebay for $39,000...it was a Nissan restored one from 1997 and was painted an original Lime Green.
atomflatz
The gold color almost looks like an alodine finish.
islanddozer
I've seen this Z on a insurance company calendar. It has been for sale for over a year. He sure has a pipe dream with that price. A BC bud pipe dream that is LOL
