  1. Nice! I noticed my wife complained less after I sprayed the car one solid color than she did when it was 6 different shades of junkyard.
  2. I like the fact that the Wink can use the visor mounting points, I am not too big on drilling holes in the interior unless there is no other way.
  3. Looks nice. Did you have any other mirrors you were considering before settling on the R1's? How do you like your Wink mirror?
  4. You could try cutting the bumper into sections for cheaper shipping, maybe in the center of the brackets you made so you end up with three pieces.
  5. Dampen the Vibe....nice, well played sir. Seriously though, seems like a nasty band aid but I guess it's cheaper than redesigning the unibody. I didn't think that strut towers could deflect enough to make this bar a functional damper, the Vibe/Matrix must have a really flimsy chassis. Kind of sad for a modern car but then again it's not like it's a sports car. Thanks for the response guys.
  6. Last week I was on vacation and got a Pontiac Vibe as a rental. I always like to pop the hood on any car I rent to poke around and look at how different engine compartments are set up, anyhow, this car had strut bar that caught my eye and has piqued my curiosity. As shown below, this bar is constructed with some kind of damper built into it. I pulled the dust boot off of the damper and it appears to have a good allowance for travel that by my thinking would negate any advantage that a strut tower bar would provide in the first place, however, I can't believe that an automaker would add this unit for no reason due to the cost involved. Does anyone know what the purpose of this damper is and if it may provide any advantage over a traditional strut tower bar?
  7. I have not tried this myself but supposedly it will not hurt anything: http://www.sonic.net/~kyle/cars.html Go here, follow the link in the upper left then click on "Fuel tank vent line removal" Oh, BTW fuel vapors will eat through water hose so don't use it unless you want to replace it again in short order.
  8. I am not really sure, there is not too much information out there that I have found. The only reason I know what they are is because when I saw the Pao in BC I had to find out what it was. That and a very vague recollection of seeing an S-Cargo in a magazine ages ago. http://www.retrotogo.com/2006/03/nissans_retro_c.html
  9. The "Pike" series of cars are really cool. I really like the Pao, saw one on the street in Victoria. You Canadians are so lucky to be able to get stuff like that!
  10. Wow, that is insane! I remember there was a thread a while back where someone was contemplating doing this but I did not know that anyone actually had. I would love to see some in process shots of that car.
  11. I am jealous, that is a really nice find. Good luck with your swap:icon14:

  14. You can find many more options at McMaster Carr. http://www.mcmaster.com/#metal-perforated-sheets/=1d45vx Best of luck, your car is looking really good.
  15. Justin- That last photoshop you did of the car makes the profile of the front end look A LOT like a first gen RX-7, weird. Interesting concept.
  16. Not sure where you can get the proper bars locally but if you are really hard up you could probably get some lead tire balancing weights from any tire shop for cheap.
  17. That is a really good starting point for a Datsamino or a Datchero.
  18. Those pin drive wheels are pretty nice. I had no idea the hex nuts for mounting them were over $100 dollars each, yikes!
  19. That is awesome news, I am glad someone will keep these products alive.
  20. This guy could probably help you out http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=763645
  21. MAS used to sell one. Other than that I don't think they are currently being produced. Perhaps 280ZForce will have a mold for one whenever he gets his truck o' molds and will be able to produce them? Then again, you could contact MAS and ask if they will do a one-off or get a group buy going. http://masracing.biz/index.html
  22. Sounds like it will end up being a nice daily ride. I've always wanted a CRX. This one was nice price for sure, good score!
