  1. I'm mounting the engine in orientation to the tranny. what i really need is an answer, or a direction to an answer, to my clutch kit questions.
  2. <======== location + shipping = cost more than i would pay for the tranny
  3. Not sure if this would go with the 4 cylinder forum or here. Move if need be. Back round: Fitting KA24de into my 280z. Ka came with auto tranny and no computer. Have 5 speed from the L28 Plan: attach l28 5 speed to KA engine. I removed the L28 and tranny and have tried testing fitting the tranny to the KA. No issues yet. Tried to fit L28 flywheel to KA. No fitment. Issue is the center hold diameter is about 1.5 mm too small on the flywheel, bolts alignment have no issue. I'm going to be ordering a new clutch kit anyways. I the flywheel looks like it in decent shape. Is it worth milling the flywheel to have it fit, or ordering one for 240sx? and should I order a clutch kit for a 280z or a 240sx? and which TOB? I measured the distance between the back of the L28 flywheel and the fingers on the pressure plate, it came out to be 65.3 mm. i know that no one have any definite answers. So suggestions and assumptions are welcome.
  4. I don't think thats true. With most commercial resins, the curing process uses heat to harden it. Too much heat or not enough of catalyst evenly distributed, it will crack.
  5. My walmart one works fine. But its the jack that loan out so I don't have to to loan out my shop jack. And its easier to carry. only good for changing tires (reffering to the walmart one )
  6. I know this is kind of random, but If you want to make tail light lenses and want the refractor shape on the inside. Use a negative mold and vacuum form the plastic and then press in (or make inserts) using plastic from the office florescent light covers. Or better yet, just make inserts from those and just press/glue them into the new lenses.
  7. I'm in the same boat, also, but I'm going a little extreme with mine. I'm going to be just use a spot weld remover bit and take out the rails (and hopefully, not half the floor). I would say to tack weld a frame in there, before removing the rails, just to be safe
  8. Just wanted to know. I have heard that because the new gtr can generate so much lateral G (using the word "generate" for lasck of a better word) that they had to develop special tires/wheels with a special lip on the rim so the tire doesn't come off when "generating" lateral Gs (source Top Gear). did you guys addressed this? I know it wouldn't be needed in for practical use, since the computers govern everything until its taken to a track. just curious:D
  9. I think the new hyundai gensis coupe would be an easier platform, because its rwd.
  10. Not many know this, but there is a height requirement for headlights to pass visual inspection (even though no one really cares, except manufacturers).
  11. Are these bi xenon lights? (Hi/Low)
  12. SSS isn't the name of the car. Its the name of the tuning shop that made it.
  13. And no one gets anything "for free." Everything cost some one something. "Buy one, get one free," Why not just say "half off" I like deals but I hate it when people try to push stuff on you that you don't need, like they phrase above used on something like TVs. I don't need 2x 52" TVs, just give me half off.
  14. Some things that are apparent to me would be; 1. glass. custom glass can get expensive. 2. tranny and engine mounts. more specifically the tranny tunnel. 3. roof line curves. 4. half shafts. 5. and dash/interior. If you have the time and money, I say go for it
  15. I have a air dryer attached to my compressor. I already said mine was ineffecient. Not the best. maybe the worst, but it works
  16. I bought one on ebay for like $25. It works fine, Kinda inefficiant, but it works. Its just a backup filler tank attached to a siphon hose, to a nozzle.
  17. I too would like to see other pics of your car. Did you use headlights made for another car and made a custom setup to fit?
  18. Even blasting can't be garrenteed get a 100% of the rust out, but its the best method. I would do that and use Rust zero over it just to be sure. You have to dilute to thin it out. So if you put it on a little thick, you probably won't need bondo
  19. go Moped . Or buy parts for a jy and weld up a trike Thats what I Plan to do with my L28
  20. use the search and look for showcars. Mostly bad things show up.
  21. Anybody that messed with FB before, know of any shrinkage or warpage issues that I should be aware of before I try to make a mold?
  22. My friend had one. It also came in a turbo version (XT6 turbo) and had air ride suspension form the factory ( I have an XT6 air compressor lying around somewhere )
  23. transistor= balast resistor could be the coil.
