  1. After I stripped the car and did the prep work in the interior the paint job cost about $2400, which included all the body work that was needed.
  2. If it had a whale tail I know the guy. Fiberglass front flaired fenders and fiberglass flairs on the back, whale tail, side pipes and dark tinted windows and if I remember correctly it had 5 star rims without the center caps. This guy did all the work and painted it in his garage. It came out pretty nice. Pretty young guy too. He was still an inliner.
  3. Way to comical! http://wayweird.com/archives/2004/nov/mature_statue.php
  4. Unfortunately, I think I have seen this thing running around town. Weird, he specs it out with a 1.5L then states it has a 2.2L engine swap.
  5. The funny thing would be if he was voting for Bush and his friends were voting for Kerry and after several "discussions" on who to vote for, his friends did this to his car.
  6. Looks great. So when are you going to fab some for production? I'm definitely in for some A-pillar pods. Hint Hint.
  7. Thought I would give an upate on my progress. All the exterior powder coating has been finished, excluding the rims. I'm waiting on my a/c evaporator to come in AGAIN and I can start putting the dash back together and finish up the interior. Then it's on to removing all the suspension parts to remove all the overspray. At that time the lip of the rims will be polished and the center will be powder coated to match everything else and then clear powder coated. Some engine components will be coated at the same time. After the suspension is back in I'll start on the motor again. Rebuild the head and throw it back in with the already rebuilt block and tranny. It's slowly getting there. I put some pics in my album. Enjoy. http://hybridz.org/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=492
  8. I actually have everything you need for going turbo, but it's going in my 260. Sorry. You could try to work out a deal with Jerry at All Z's. What I could do though is look at the '87 and see what I could offer you for it. I could also help you out with your '73. Head gasket can be changed out in an afternoon when its just carb'ed. I think I have an extra headgasket at the house. SU's are a peace of cake. Sounds like the needle is out of position or bent. PM me and we can work out the details. Are you still working Thursday nights. Our Z club meeting is this week.
  9. Not to steal the thread, but who makes CF bumpers? I've been wanting the FG bumpers, but I would rather have the CF.
  10. I guess this will be a "donation" type deal due to copy right laws and such. So, where do I send my donation to a worthy cause?
  11. I have no clue what this is, but it isn't actually to bad. Some of the skylines pictured on that site seem to keep it civil when it comes to mods.
  12. I would like to start out by saying I applaud James for doing this for the few that purchased this great IC. I'm thankful for guys like him that continue to make great products for our beloved Z's. I KNOW I will be happy with the performance of this IC throughout any and all upgrades I have planned in the future. I understand completely how custom parts sometimes have complications to work through. This is actually the first time I ever heard of a difference in the front frame rails between a 240 and an early 260. Considering the extent of work I have yet to do putting the rest of the Z back together, all the other custom work I have done and still need to do, this complication is trivial. I didn't remove the hood as I stated I would, it's just all that new paint makes me real nervous. Being able to stand in the engine bay helped alot. The horn brackets will need to be cut off to allow the IC to fall into place. Again, trivial. I'm just praying I don't fubar the paint job in the process. This will ofcourse wait for the skillful modifications to the IC that will be performed. Shipping it back may have to wait until next Friday. This work week is going to be a long one in a short period of time.
  13. It really is an impressive unit! I'll be checking the fit on my early 260Z today, hopefully. I hate taking my hood off by myself, especially now with new paint. I did notice one other issue with the 260Z, I.E. horn placement. It appears I'll need to relocate my horns to fit the IC in place. Bending the horn brackets over some may be an option. I'll know more later today upon trial fitment. Oh the price we pay for more power.
  14. I'll give you the and a big when you can use the full potential of what that 4.5" core can support. Ofcourse this doesn't mean I'll ever get close to using the 3.5" core to it's full potential, but I'll give it hell.
  15. I couldn't get the Taurus fan to work in my stock(at the time) early '74 260. There wasn't enough room between the water pump pulley and the radiator. I installed it as a pusher and didn't look back. I'll be rethinking the whole system in the near future due to intercooler install.
  16. I am so excited about getting mine! I keep showing off the pics at work. It looks great James. I look forward to receiving that masterpiece. I had originally intended to put my ZTherapy SU's back on my '74 until I saved up for the turbo, engine management and braided lines. I think it would look pretty stupid to have an intercooler mountd on there without anything hooked up to it so now I'll have to take a loan out to get the other things I need to go straight to turbo. Oh well. It's only money. I guess I'll have polished SU's, ceramic coated intake/fuel rail and header for sale before to long.
  17. Let me tell you, it is a sweet 300ZX. The happy new owner was one big smile all evening. The thing I thought was humorous was she kept talking about getting a 350Z now aswell. I think she has the bug, but her bug has bit her so bad she wants one of each model. Good luck with finding a cure while still staying out of debt.
  18. OOPS, my bad. You did send me an email. As usual, I check hybridz before checking my email. Let me know the details.
  19. I sure hope I'm one of those three getting the first lot. Did I miss an email? Waiting patiently in background with paypal account or money order or personal check or credit card or debit card or ......... in hand!
  20. I'm really interested in this now, as I'm making some dramatic progress on my project and will need this in the not-so-distant future for fitment. Whats the word?
  21. Oops, my bad! I thought I had read it properly. To many hours at work lately, I guess. I wouldn't think it would work aswell with the 280 as it has ignition relays for the fuel injection, along with the thermo time, head temp and fuel pump relays, but since you have a carbed 350 in it, I still will fall back on the MSD box(I have researched this to some extent in the JTR manual). All you need is to control the spark. You should already have the fuel pump worked out, being you will need lower fuel pressure. Ignition switch hook up to the MSD box and connecting the box to the dist. and tach is all you need. You should be good to go. I'll have to research the wiring in my fsm for my 280, but it should work the same way.
  22. I take it, this is for a '73. MSD box would be the easiest way to get around it. I was running with the TIU unplugged from my 260 for atleast a year with the MSD 6AL, before I stripped her for paint. Follow the instructions on the box and you should be ok on the install. You also shouldn't need the tach adapter in the 240. I'm actually running a 280 tach in my 260 without the adapter.
  23. Although I won't be prepared for turbo until next year some time, I don't want to miss out on this deal, like I did the intakes. I'm interested. I look forward to more info and pics.
