  1. I dont think so, you can pump the air thru it either way you want.
  2. I did a bit of reading and I couldnt find what you were trying to tell me. I did not know you could flip both ends of the CVs I only did the outers. Notice In my original post I said "I made my own". They are .375 thick I have never seen MM weld on flanges in person and Im pretty sure his photos are vague for a reason. So people dont copy them. After installing mine I came to the conclusion that the MM weld on adapters must have that rectangle shape machined into the adapter to provide more clearance. Maybe thats not the case, either way I had a hell of a time getting mine to not bind and the only way I could manage with the limited time and resources I had (I was out of town at a friends house when I HAD to do this swap) was to adjust the LCA's since I had elipticals on the inner and AZC chromemoly LCA's. Anyone have a good high res photo of the MM weld on adapters they could post?
  3. I had similar problems when I installed mine. I made the adapters and never had seen any of the MM ones in person. I have very wide 17 inch wheels and tires and had to move my suspension around to get the tires to stop rubbing and the out board CV splined shaft not to bind. I have AZC Chromemoly rear LCA's and elipticals inboard, and have a crazy amount of adjustment on my camber plates up top. I was able to move the whole assembly outboard enough to make the stuff clear. I still need to move them back inboard but I just havent gotten around to it. Im not sure why no one has entertained the idea of cutting the snap ring groove a little more inboard and cutting the offending end off of the out board side of the splined drive shaft. Thats what I plan to do. Someone mentioned that it only took them less than an hour and it was messy. Mine were almost pressed on they took a crazy amount of force to remove and reinstall and YES it was a super messy job.
  4. You just happened to touch on one of the most sought after components on the whole vehicle. Maybe the price wont shock you maybe it will but I have seen LSD's go for as little as 50 bucks (unbelievably rare) and as much as $800. They can handle CRAZY HP so your lucky in that respect. I just searched "LSD install" I remember there is a sticky 4th one down, long read but VERY informative and will answer all of your questions. http://forums.hybridz.org/search.php?searchid=2808006 I took pitty on you because, for some reason I never find anything when I search either.
  5. I know several people that have used it with the L28 and the 7MGTE. Many Supra guys are making well into the 300 RWHP with it. I have a MK3 that I drive daily that I am running 11-13 psi on, works great. If I can do it with a 3 liter you will be fine with a 2.8 personally I would get a NEW ebay BOV before I ever relied on an OLD dried up stock BOV. A bad BOV is the source of a lot of wrenching and repairs in the MK3 world.
  6. I have this one http://www.mytoolstore.com/ideal/ide08-11.html with the dies at the bottom of the page 30-599 also Frys electronics sells same crimper and the dies but I couldn't find the exact ones online. It has an over center cam on the handle that makes it easier to get that last little oomph and has an adjustable stop for so you dont smash the hell out of it. Trust me you can smash the hell out of them so its nice to have that stop. I agree you will need to practice on a few to get good at it and then cut and crimp away. I love all the sources for Weather pack kits and terminals. When a harness is all finished, with these they look so nice. Also checkout this place, lots of stuff but it doesn't look like as good of prices as others. http://www.delcity.net/delcity/servlet/catalog?parentid=8598&page=1&new=y Also most NAPA's have that stuff but make sure you ask the guy that knows because they keep that stuff hidden behind the shelf and the new kid wont even know they have it. Actually the cheapest way to do this is buy a crap load of these And go to the junk yard and cut the connectors off of a male and female set that look like they will fit your needs. Leave them connected because sometimes they are keyed uniquely (meaning a male flat 4 wont necessairly mate to another female flat 4 off of a different car) sometimes they have little tabs on the inside that will keep them from engaging if they came from different typed of cars. Take them home take the metal terminals out then put them in the dishwasher, and they come out nice and clean.
  7. Sweet I didnt know that was you next to me at MSA I would have checked out your car more. I have been subscribed to your thread for almost a year, ever since I found it. Your going to crack that Turbo L28 apart before you install it right? I let one sit for less than 3 years in the garage and the cylinders had a slight bit of rust on them. I would almost guarntee yours to be in the same condition. Besides if its not you can install a new metal headgasket and be done with it. Congrats on the build, I wish I would have looked closer when I was at the event.
  8. Thanks for the compliments, but if I could fit wider tires under there I would. If I had power steering I would put wider wheels in front too.
  9. I hate country music, and im not into religious music, but she has an amazing voice, I want to hear her do a cover of a Patsy Cline tune. She has the perfect range and sounds like she could belt it out no problem.
  10. Nope, I got clean pants here. Heres a another video from a recent run out to Tortilla flat. End of the day video.
  11. youtube resolution SUCKS. Give it a few seconds, and make sure you have the latest Windows Medial player. 275/40/17's on 9 inch wide with the 5 lug AZC rear kit and 35mm offset. Look thru all my early posts, you will find all of the info for the wheels. Those V710's should probably go on 9.5 or 10 inch wide wheels. They are kinda pulled on on the side walls. Oddly enough the V70A's on it in the video fit perfect. The V70A's have a treadwear rating of "50" these are also known as ECASTA V700's The V710"s have a treadwear rating of "30" these are AKA known as ECASTA V710's, We will see how long they last. LOL
  12. At 70+ mph you gotta be kidding, YES its a CLSD. If it were open one tire would go up in smoke. Yep your right they dont make stickier tires. My tires were DONE and this was just for fun. For AutoX I do turn the boost down. But if you have traction theres never too much horsepower. If you could only see the look on a first time passengers face.
  13. 487 to the wheels. Thanks
  14. Ok now that I have new tires (V710's), I wont be able to do this for a while. I finally got that video converted, with the speedo shown. Look closely at the tires. Click here to watch video. Heres another
  15. You know how to keep it from being the kiss of death? Take an extra set with you. Seriously if you take an extra set of half shafts, your chances of breaking the existing ones are much lower:biggrin:
  16. Well it is 3rd gear and 3rd goes from whatever to about 95mph in my car, so by the time the tires stop spinning im bouncing off the rev limiter in 3rd at 95 or so. You can ask all the motorcycles and C6 Zo6's, and Vipers I run away from, if its fast. We have several videos where we looked at the speedo in the chase car and it says 70mph then I leave big black marks all the way to the top of 3rd gear. Video never does "real life" justice. It really is a handful I dont really watch the speedo at all.
  17. Yea Brian I still cant believe how much power you put down at 17 psi. edit: I found the dyno sheet. Clifton: I was slow at posting, I found the graph with rpm, here it is. The run that showed 487 hp run the tach lead fell off so they went by mph.
  18. 7MGTE Garret T4 60-1 24x12x4 inch intercooler, 3 inch plumbing, forged pistons, and rods, aluminum driveshaft, aluminum flywheel, 3.70 LSD, AZC Suspension and brakes, 17x9 rear wheels with 275/40/17 Kumho ECASTA V700's the sticky ones. I forgot I changed my alias and still need to ask a mod to see if he can merge my identity's for me. Heres the same car http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101234&highlight=7mgte
  19. I got some decent video of some freeway burnouts and posted one on YouTube and you can barely see the burnout marks, so the rest of the links are in full resolution. Full res of Youtube burnout Full res long shot Last one This car makes 487 rwhp at 23 psi and weighs 2500 lbs
  20. +1 for Driftmotion, those guys rock.
  21. Im going to see if I can come, also Im going to see if I can get Clifton to join me.
  22. Why wouldnt he be? If you all knew you could go down to Company "X" and get the same thing you wouldnt buy it from him. Im sure he has quite an investment in these things, so why would he hand that info out? In this day of group buys, ebay whore$ and the like how would you expect anyone to build a business and offer different options for our cars. I personally would like him to offer instructions on how to rebuild them, but mine dont have any issues yet, so I will complain (and post) when I need to.
  23. He dug up his own post, so I figured he must be serious about it. So I replied.
  24. Arizona Z Car has one that I have seen installed on more than half a dozen cars (including my own) that they bolted the 4 barrel manifold on and drove it with absolutely NO adjustments to the carb, I think it was a Carter AFB, not sure of the model. I had one for years on my car and then my Dads car. It wasnt as good as the SU's in my opinion. But if you can tune a 4 barrel, you could probably make it work better than I did. Also the casting has been changed by AZC and I think Robello (sp) recently did a dyno back to back SU's vs AZC 4 Barrel and I recall Dave was very surprised. Here it is http://www.arizonazcar.com/manifold.html
