  1. I wear hoody shirts when I go to the wrecker. If I need something small enough to fit in the cubby pocket (like weather stripping), that's where she goes. I overpay more than enough on lots of stuff from there on a frequent basis, so I don't feel bad about it.
  2. When you put it that way I get it. But ya, we all know S30 dash's are sweet. One of the only things I liked about my '07 Altima was the way the dash vents reminded me of the S30 guage pods.
  3. The 240 dash is sexy, same as all S30 cars. If you're thinking of butchering it, don't. Save the time and $, or just get a different car.
  4. Thanks. Re-purchased it today. $70 reman'd is a lot easier to swallow than $250 for NAPA and $550 for Nissan. My concern was the size of the reservoirs is different.
  5. Thanks for the tip. I'll most likely do that. Not really wanting to have to pay $100 for two pins and have them shipped from the states. Thanks for the offer though.
  6. I couldn't find the right answer in a search. So, can I take the reservoirs off the master cylinder for my 240 and put them on the 280zx master? I ordered in a reman'd one and it doesn't come with them, and they say they can't get them. Napa sells the whole unit brand new but it's 3 times the price. Nissan can get the reservoirs at a decent price but they want $130 for the caps LOL! Any info would be great.
  7. yeah I tried John C's approach by using the airhammer and 3/8's pin but no luck. Penetrating oil and heat from a torch didn't help. Finally broke out the sawzall and cut em all off. My car is from here in Ontario, so maybe we just get more rust haha. BTW, went to Nissan and they said the spindle pins are not around anymore and I'm SOL.
  8. I've got a 2.4 and a 2.8 sitting here. Since I have both motors, I was wondering if I should keep the N42 head on the 2.8 which will be going into my 240, or if there's an advantage to taking the E88 head off the 2.4 and putting it on the 2.8? I'll be going carbed (SU's or downdraft Webers, possibly tripple Webers if I find an affordable set). I've got the SU's and the downdraft Webers already.

  10. Megatherion: ever find out about that fuel door? Looks like maybe a '94-'99 Mustang but not sure. I've got to get that, since my fuel door doesn't like to stay flush and I rather have that style anyway.
  11. I grabbed a pair of no name generic racing seats today at the UPIC part of the junkyard. $70 for the pair with tax and the "environmental fee". They measure 24" wide at the shoulder wings, but I put them in the 240 no problem. They touch the door panel when it's closed, but I'm a big guy anyway so meh. Haven't figured out my mounting yet but so far this looks like it will work. Can't go wrong for $70. Was looking for some old Recaros but wasn't going to pass these up jsut in case. A good vacuum and shampoo and they'll be good to go.
  12. 280Zone did you use the rattlecans or a real gun and compressor?
  13. motor is on the engine stand these days.
  14. Yeah I did what you said. Spun freely. Did the compression test with the plugs out (that's what my fellow shopmates suggested (to get a true reading on each cylinder). I started at the front of the motor and went back. 3 cylinders are good, one is kinda low, and 2 are dead. Readings were: 1: 145 PSI 2: 140 PSI 3: 60 PSI 4: 145 PSI 5: 115 PSI 6: 60 PSI I'm pretty sure that was the order. I wrote it all down but forgot the note at the shop. None of the parts stores open had a leakdown tester, so I was out of luck. My friend says do the leakdown for better diagnosis. Most likely something wrong with the head right?
  15. I've been working on my 240 since last year, and it's really slowgoing. I've got 2 motors for it, and I'll be using the 2.8 with the 5 speed. I've never seen the car run so I'm playing roulette with the motor. Last I decided to drain the old oil (black death and smells like fuel) and the filter. Put in 5 litres of Castrol GTX 10w30 and a cheap Fram Filter (just for testing purposes, will use good stuff after). It still doesn't show full on the dipstick it's around halfway (book says 5 litres). Should I put some Deep Creep down the plug holes before trying to free up the motor (don't know if it's seized) and doing a compression test? Should I be really scared the rings are done and that being why the oil is so fuelly (have the same issue with my '68 Lincoln)?
  16. Look like Mustang rims. I've got a Mustang, and I still think those are fugly.
  17. Looks good for only 4 cans. Did you use the new Krylon Outdoor one with the UV protector in it? I've been contemplating doing something similar with mine.
  18. I'm in Richmond Hill, the gf lives in willowdale. My car is slowly being built out in Sauga where I'm renting shop space. I've got a set of the same black sportmax rims waiting to go on the car. I'll be running Eibach prokit springs and Tokiko blues with Suspention Tech sway bars and Energy bushings throughout.
  19. joker72z, I'm in Toronto too. Nice to see some locals. Did you just buy the grey one? I've seen one for sale that looks just like it.
  20. Look good all one colour. What paint did you use? What method did you use to paint it?
  21. You can buy gold Sportmax wheels. Probably cheaper to buy them then get them powdercoated.
