  1. ^^The frist two were from a pick and pull, the last was from my very frist "big" bulid. Yep my next build will be different, and I will run rp. I may not have the fastest car, but I like to run the crap out of them, so I strive for things that won't prematurely ware out.
  2. Ok, take a pic of the dizzy without the cap and post it up.
  3. Oh and here removed the pins and put them back without even me asking!
  4. For information to the site here is mine. As you can see some of the holes drilled for balancing can be seen in the rear of the flywheel. Also he said he took off about 6 pds. So it should weigh in at 17.6lbs (when weighed by machinst it was at23.4), but I have not confirmed. Note the amount taken out of the pressure plate in order to bring that into balance. It is a "new" beck arnly clutch assemble. One last note BIG thanks to Z-ya for the 240mm flywheel, it was in fantastic condition and as a bonus, looks like his children had drawn some winter pics on the shipping cardboard!! Lastly, the minimum thickness at the point where the stock groove is one the clutch side to the back,,, at my best measurement,,, is 5/16 of an inch. about 7.9mm.
  5. They shed, not a little, not alot, but rather CRAP loads!!!!! And this is an understatement! Great dogs though, wont get another, tooooo much sheding! THe dang dog should have no hair in a week with what it can shed. It defies reason.
  6. You must of hooked up the memory wire for your main power.
  7. I know that some of the big fellows have used it. Between that and what you have posted, I might have to lean that way more often. Hopefully some of the heavyweights weigh in on RP, with personal experience.
  8. My brother is running OBD1. Said it is perfered because it has be hacked up the wazzu.
  9. Ok, to sure what you are getting at Hughdog. Talked to my brother in law and he mentioned that the acceleration of the car in lower gears essentially dilutes the touque at the clutch assemble. Added to this the torque is also lost due to the engine in a period of time is working hard to increase its rotation. Is that what you were getting at?
  10. They are the same. Both are forged, if you were not aware.
  11. My brother is useing a obd1 or 2, (I"ll have to ask), and a osterage to tune his turbo honda engine he built. He is dynoed at 305hp. I want to say he is running a b16a with ls pistons, but again I will have to confrim this. Pretty simple/inexpensive setup to do, at least in his application.
  12. Here you go, may I ask why? Oddly my rockers off my modded 82 seems to have a better wipe pattern and less ware. That car had 170k plus, driven hard and put away wet. The other rockers were off a junkyard engine with 180k plus.
  13. The guts in my saab's cat are awall. I was told to get a 5m resistor to clear the check engine code. I do believe you are correct in your assumtions.
  14. this will be the first engine I have ever rebuilt that will be running Ummm did you just assemble the other ones for door stops? teehee.
  15. Is it running without the CAS?
  16. Ok, my clutch is going. New flywheel at mach shop. Next weekend I will be installing. So this question is of curiosity. Why dose my clutch hold reasonably well stomping the gas in first and second, but a high way speed and let say 2700rpm (5th) the clutch will slip badly if I give it any hard throttle at all?
  17. There was a thread a long time ago about this, he had a tough time, forgot the outcome. Get some hood pins in stead.
  18. The one on the far right is from the bullfrog cam. I did 12 years ago. Broke the bullfrog cam in on conventional, then ran syn afterwords. Pulled that engine years before what you fellows are talking about. Put about50-60k on that engine. Cam and rocker arms essentially were fine. Going to use in the future.
  19. Washington state is grossly mismanaged right now. Buget deficits are bad and getting worse. Idaho has made great headway in the last 5-8yrs, and the people are more "traditional", you'll like that.
  20. Ok, I just have to ask: Won't any synthetic oil work just fine? Years back I read an extensive study about oils. The synthetic ability to resist "cooking" and "TEARING" was so vastly superior that really their was no comparison to conventional oils. As a side note, the WORST oil weight in conventional was 10-40! Did not matter who made that weight, it just fails miserable. Forgot why though. For a fellow to get a metal on metal situation, don't you need to get a tear? Abiding that everything else is fine?
