    I agree with Zya, the thermal expansion and contraction of that bolt,,,, I would bet is quite different. Could end up causing stress cracks to the head.

    If I remember correctly, at higher rpms the lifters can have problems responding quick enough.

    If you have the money, get an after market ecu install it and learn it. When you have learned that, then you can turbo charge that na, with far less possiblity of damage. Yes you can turbo charge the na with the na pistons, compression will be higher, then a turbo engine, 7.5ish vs. 8.5ish. Injectors will have to be the frist upgrade if you want to go above 3psi or so.

    Even after a week or so of sitting, in the rainy season they rust up all the time. Really nothing to sweat. I always use break kleen before useing in order to remove any oil from my hands that get on the disk. This will remove the rust as well.

    Those pumps are pretty dang reliable, checking it out can save a buck! Post up your findings, maby with a few picks.

    Why do you think it needs a rebuild?

    Having a book will be worth it. Take your time and do it right, not really that hard, just cost money. The more steps you skip the less miles you will probly get in the end. As stated by softpz it is not a complicated engine, stock rebuild is not rocket science. The only thing that might of got some guys going is that it is wise to use plastigauge, but you atleast knew what that was.

    Yes, no assist. No vacuum would be drawn on the diaphragm.

    The check valve only helps to keep vacuume in the can, correct?
