  1. Yes, congrats Marlins you guys have done a great job. I view the yankees the same way I do F1 Ferrari with Mikee S and honda motoGP's Valintino Rossi. Rossi(sp?) himself is a awsome rider I will/would love to see him on a diffrent brand of bike to see if he can do the same next year. The above teams while good, usually make it not very much fun to watch an event if you don't want the same ones to win again and again. Don
  2. I have a straight 76 Z parts car (rusted too bad for me to take the time to repair) and the thought came to me to cut the rear fenders off and weld them on to my 71. I don't like the flared look and would like a wider look to house the tires. There is a car I do like (not sure but I think it's BMW Z3?) the look of and I would like to try to copy it. The fender has the upper curve that comes down then curves out more before it curves down. It's been a thought thats been on the back burner for a while and I think I will try next spring to do it. Don
  3. A lot more than I was planning to before I found HybridZ (thank you hybridz ). Form a plan and stick to it! Don
  4. Ok I'll bite. Gearing? A powerglide has two foward gears and one reverse. Don
  5. Snowmobiles(sp?) have had CVT's for years using a rubber type belt. Don
  6. Dan you are still alive! Ok now are you going to start up a hybridBMW site? Don
  7. Don't try 150 on the street! Run it on a race track! When I got a 750 street bike in 1980 I rode it hard (or so I thought) and fast on the street. Two years later I was invited by a guy I worked with to the race track to ride laps on. Back then you could give the track $75 and ride all day and I was hooked, I raced them for eight years after that. What it showed me was how dangerous going fast on the street is and how slow it really is. Don't do it take it to the track, 1/4 mile or lapping will be much more fun. Be safe because there is only one of you. Don
  8. What was your motor running(doing?) when it blew. RPM, Hp, Stroke? Just wondering. Don
  9. Mike you might want to put a stronger oil pump shaft on. Don
  10. Yes ford oil pump shafts on a ford are really winpy. I have seen pictures of them twisted up like candy. Was it a stock motor with a stock weight oil? Other than my Z I am not really a ford guy but in a stock engine they seem to be fine but a high pressure or volume pump will twist them for up. Any ford engine I build would have a ARP or after market shaft. They are cheap insurance. Bummer you had to find out that way. Don
  11. Looks good but I was wondering if you have put the seats in yet and climbed in. Unless I am wrong(and thats never happened be before ) looks like the roll bar is mounted too far forward unless you have real short legs. Hopefully I am missing something. Don
  12. ah yes I can say been there done that. Don
  13. Like I said if you want to know if the vlsd will fit into a old style housing do a search in drivetrain forum. Try putting "VLSD" in the "words to seach for" box. It's been covered in the past. Don
  14. Not Z30 we are S30 guys. No the R200 out of a Z32 will not fit in place of a 89 or older R200. This has been covered so many times people are tired answering it over and over. To do a search look at the upper right of the this page and click on the search button put in VLSD or R200 or what ever. You will come up with a lot. Don
  15. Try looking in the south king county yellow pages. Or qwestdex.com as there were quite a few in there. One had a web address that looked ok but didn't list any prices, it was http://www.pugetsoundcoatings.com they might help. Don
  16. There is/was a place down off 212 in kent just east of west valley hiway in a business park on the south side. Email me if you can't find it. Don
  17. Has he been walking around the North West cascades area? If he has, I think we have a one word name for him. Don
  18. If I remember correctly Toyota made a car before the Z came out that was cool. It was along the same lines as a Z but I don't remember what it was called M1 comes to mind but I think that is a BMW. Don
  19. I know someone that is putting one of those into a 240sx but never have heard of one in a Z. Cool engine and well built. Don
  20. When I last drove my Z in the rain (Fall of 85) I was amazed at how well it stuck. I tires had on the car were 195/14 pirelli P77. For plain street tires those were great. The width of your tires could be a big cause of the problem. Don
  21. Have you heard about the music industry going after people who download music? That aside, Springsteen "born to run" and "darkness on the edge of town" albums. Then there is early 80's new wave .........or beach boys. This is just a matter of your own taste to burn what ever you want but don't let it cost you. Don
  22. "Go Red team" Not a chance, they stated that if they don't win the championship they will protest the results of all the teams that are using the other brand (the M brand) of tires earlier in the year. Win a championship by using protests to up your results in races earlier in the year, shouldn't work like that. Go to http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/hi/english/motorsport/formula_one/default.stm Look on the lower left under "Ferrari maintain tyre threat". Sorry Terry I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers that bad last year. We are going this year because we had some airline miles given to us by a screwed up flight and we thought we better use them. I don't think we will be going next year but I will renew the seats because they are so good. I will be selling the tickets at face value for next year and am planning to go the year after. The tickets are on the first row in the first turn. I am pumped for this year. Don
  23. My shop teacher had a couple of them back when I was in high school in the middle seventys. I have always liked them since then and thought they were cool cars. Don
  24. Is anybody going and have friday sat and sun tickets? I have a couple of 2003 pit walkabout tickets. I can't go on thursday as I fly in on friday. any body want the walkabouts? Let me know as I only have two and I will mail them out to you if they will be used. All I would like in return would be a couple of pictures of the cars in the pits. Don

    MSA LSD?

I have one (still sitting on the bench) and it is the nesmo one nissan motorsports sell for over a hundred more. Even comes in the nesmo box. It has one more clutch plate per side than the stock turbo ones and the best part is it's new. I can't read the instructions, it's in the wrong language. Don
