  1. Tim is your email address on the site correct? I think I PMed you and clicked on the email button. I didn't want to post my work pager email address here so I sent it to you. So far it is 0 for 0, I ordered and paid for 3 of the first run of shirts, nada and now this. So I will now forge ahead on my own with my own ideas on how it should be with all the help of hybridz of course. Don
  2. Tim you said to let you know when I would be down and we could have a GT. I posted it and emailed you twice, the last with the email address of my pager that I would have with me. I never got a answer so I wasted two days down there but I did meet a nice lady in a convertible Z32. I was in the Lake Forest -Irvine area and would have driven quite a ways to meet a or some hybridz people. Don
  3. A ford 5.0 can be as easy to build a bow tie and a whole lot lighter. If you do choose a ford or a mopar you will have the satisfaction of doing something diffrent and not following the crowd. A 351 is a good motor also and lighter than a chev. Don
  4. You should call Art Morrison as they know some people who can build some custom cages or parts of them. Art Morrison is located in Fife and one guy that they might send you to operates out of a white barn like building on the west side of 99 as you go toward Fife from Federal Way. Art Morrison built my roll bar but have now stopped making them. Hope this helps. Don
  5. What you are talking about for test kits is called a Dye pen test. Dye Penetrate that is. Don
  6. I don't know now, I ordered and paid for three shirts from the first order from SuperDan when the first shirts came out. I waited and waited and they never came. Dan said my my order slipped through the cracks and he was sorry and he would cover it on the next order, I am still waiting. Don
  7. A cam grinder can put a ford grind on a L6 cam. Maybe that is what he was talking about. The profile not the cam itself. Don
  8. On Ebay you can get helical carriers out of japanees cars for the R200. They will fit in the short snout R200 housing of the newer Z cars with the only problem being that of the side stubs. Make sure that you get the side stubs with the carrier when you buy it as none in the USA will fit, I think we tried them all. They should fit the older R200 with out any problem excipt half shafts. We were putting it into a 240sx and the half shafts bolted up to CV cups just fine. The reason I say it should fit is we put it in a R200 housing from a Z32, it had the same backlash as the old Vlsd carrier (ring gear) and it slipped right in. I have taken a Vlsd out of a Z32 housing and put in a old style R200 again keeping the same backlash. I haven't used it yet so I haven't proven it yet. The 240sx has been autocrossed and daily driven for a couple of months now so I think it works. Don
  9. Another thing that might help would be to take the grill off that is in front of the windshield (can't think of the name right now). Leaves can fall through the grill and lie hidden there until they want to come into your car. Air for the heater is drawn/pushed into the car from a vant under there so if leaves fall in by the wiper motor they could find there way into your car. Don
  10. Are you asking about Ross C. modern motorsports. I can't find his link but serch for modern motorsports or Ross C and you will find it. Don
  11. If your cars body is striped then you should be able to lift up one end to put into the stand. Try mounting the part that bolts to the car on each end and then lift up one end and slide into the pipe that allows it to rotate. It should be eazy with a friend or a floor jack. I lifted the front and used the jack for the rear. Be careful when only one end is on a stand, could be kinda tippy. Don
  12. Try this. This was made out of scrap but it worked very well. It would even support my weight. Also it is my trial fit of my 302 and AOD to see if they would fit. Don http://home.earthlink.net/~hybridz/page2.html
  13. How many I don't know, but if too thick it will crack in time.
  14. Thanks monster that was what I was thinking. I could put the mounts in for the 8.8 (which I all ready have) and avoid the factory mounts so I can have my cake and eat it too. I'll have to narrow the 8.8 though. How wide is yours? Don
  15. I have a cannon PowerShot S30. 3.2mpixl and more features than I want to know about. Takes great shots. Don
  16. Please tell us how you did the 8.8 and show us some pics. I have a idea of doing this after I get the car running. I want to try to make it a removable 8.8 so I can put the IRS back in for track days. Yes I want to eat my cake and have it perfect so I can look at it forever. Don
  17. Take a look at the canfield heads also. I think they are a better head. If you can find this months issue of muscle mustangs & fast fords mag they are doing a big test using a lot of heads and grouping them into three diffrent power classes. Don
  18. Good one, it got the wife to laugh. Not always a easy thing to do. Don
  19. Thanks guys I will update this post when the time comes near. I would love to meet some of you down there and see your cars. I will be down there from the 9/7 to 9/14 if it isn't taken out of the buget. I don't think it will but you never know when other people control the purse strings. I have never been in and around ca before so it will be fun.
  20. I will be arriving on the 7th and leaving on the 13 or 14. I am being sent down for to go to a product school by my employer. Class ends on the 12th but I thought I would spend a day or two more the see the sights if there are any. Don
  21. I just found out I will be spending the week in Irvine. I have never been there and was wondering what is down there to do, or should I bring a good book? I will be there the second week in September. Don
  22. Yes it will go on forever. Some people would start the tail chase by turning to the left and going forever claiming that they were correct. Then the other would go right and claim they were right. Don
  23. I have emailed him a couple of times also to get some info so I could order from him. No answer from him yet makes me wonder if he is on vacation. Don
  24. Ok then why is it toyotas (I personally know this) and hondas can go 300k with only timing belts or chains being required and I have never seen a domestic do that? No flames please. It's just when I took my head off to change the timing chain on my 22RE I could still see the hone marks all the way up the cylinder wall. Ok maybe they faded a bit where the top ring parks but I was impressed and that was at 170K. That and other toyotas my wife and I have owned have impressed me with how tough they are. Don
  25. F1 engines are 3L from what I know. They were lowered down from 3.5L a couple of years ago. A 750cc superbike fitted to the rules is about 160hp and motoGP bikes are 200-220 from under 1L. The motoGP bikes are limited by the tires and what they can handle. Don
