  1. OH NOES!!!! I knew sean(city hunter) secretly liked Datsuns, lol! peace.
  2. dont buy stainless exhaust from an exhaust shop unless you can verify that they in fact use stainless wire in there welders. I know of three local exhaust shops that "weld stainless" and in fact use regular steel wire. This cooks all the rust preventative alloys out and no longer makes sense having stainless exhaust. Be careful what you pay for and at the prices you guys are mentioning I would be extremely careful!!! peace.
  3. ECCS relay is one of the four that resides inside the long skinny box on the passenger fender well. The relay closest to the front of your truck is probly gonna be the clutch inhibitor relay and wont be part of your problem. You should here two relays kick on inside that box when you turn the key, one for the fuel pump and the other for the ecu. peace.
  4. Its the sensor located under the plenum on the passenger side closest to the front of the engine down inbetween two injectors. It has one single blade terminal that goes onto there and can break off or just fall off. peace.
  5. CANT wait to hear it run! you must post videos! lol
  6. this happens with all nissan engines and is a real pain in the butt!! I have on several ocations reamed them out to a larger size like .626 or even a little larger but dont go to big. Ream it after its been installed or before but open it up a few thoughsands and it will help out quiite a bit during re-installation. trust me. peace.
  7. check to make sure your ECCS relay is working properly and is sending power to the ecu. If your not even hearing the fuel pump kick on then I think its probably a relay that has gone tits up or a fuse of some sort. Yes all grounds coming out of the ecu are black and are a plug all there own( pink one?). peace.
  8. just take the center bolt out with an 1 1/16 socket and it just comes right off. peace.
  9. what are the symptoms exactly?
  10. are you positive its the ecu? I can pobly snag one for you from one of the local yards but its probly gonna be from a pussy automatic. peace.
  11. i know a guy who can take the tranny off your hands in seattle that runs around here, his name is BLEACH. He might even take the block off your hands too but I dont know. shoot him a PM. peace.
  12. I am by no means an expert on this but I believe they run a stiffer spring in the turbo AFM for the trap door. Its possible this broke on your N/A AFM and is causing the issue your describing above. I have heard it happening with other vehicles, more commonly toyotas. Anyway, something to check out and if its not the problem I hope someone here can help you. peace.
  13. no offense but if your concerned about money and doing a swap like this then you probably should reconsider your engine choice. peace.
  14. long as you let it completely dry it shouldnt hurt anything. peace.
  15. they say 7/16 to .5 is the most ideal radius for helping draw in the air but i dont know if thats true in all apps, just what i have read in a few efi books. peace.
  16. anyone ever tried the tranny from a nissan v6 pickup truck? I just picked one up from the junkyard for a friend of mines swap into another pickup. I know now after running a tape on them that they arent any shorter than the z32 tranny's since they both measure about 29 and a 1/4. The part that appeals to me is the shifter location being right where that cover plate resides on the z32 tranny. The z31's also run the same tranny but appear to be longer, I havent been able to confirm this yet. The shifter plate looks the same as the fs5w71c's though which the trucks dont look anything like and actually look much wider. anyway, just thought I would let people know if they didnt already. peace.
  17. there was a guy who swapped one into an FC rx-7 about a year ago and he used a plastic style intake from a certain year maxima. he cut it and flipped it then epoxyed it back together facing the correct direction. I cant remember where I saw the thread but I know one of the links to it was on this site. peace.
  18. I know both your cars very well and I have even talked to you a few times at the canby shows. I made it saturday this year but not sunday when most of the z car guys showed up. so, I have no clue if you were there this year. Anyway, its good to see your jumping around more here on hybrid helping people with your z car knowledge. peace.
  19. i know you guys know your efi stuff but all the vehicles i have worked with involving MS didnt have any idle devices hooked up and idled fine. So, yes your correct to get a decent idle your afr has to be set correctly at idle and you do that by adjusting the PWM. I wasn t calling it a band aid method but last i checked trying to run a 10:1 afr at idle would cause plug fouling and hardly any dile at all. The timing of injectors air intake and engine timing all play into affect of the idle, I understand all this. Im sorry if it wasnt conveyed correctly. peace.
  20. then they will suggest msefi.com and then you will be totally lost as they will be no help either, lol. I know of one guy who runs it on a vg and far as I know you dont need it. You will control idle mostly by pulse width of the injectors. I believe you can get it to work I just dont know of anyone who has. peace.
  21. hahahaha of course it will! lol. I gotta admit the ones they stick in chevy cars and pickups are pretty damn beefy but the n/a z32 pump would more than handle this setup too. Besides I am almost positive you should be more concerned about flow than anything else. peace.
  22. why not get a 6 speed from a 350z?
  23. it would be pretty much impossible because theres 13 head bolts per head on a single cam and eight per head on the dual cam. peace.
  24. you need a turbo ecu to run the turbo engine obviously but my friend used an n/a harness on his n/a 2 t swap. So, i imagine you can use an n/a harness with n/a auto controller and a turbo ecu. peace.
  25. well obviously your still in Honda thinking mode about these engines also, so yeah do your research and realize this is an extensive swap that it not worth the cost. It really isnt even that big of a WOW factor swap unless you get everything to fit perfect and look stock. your still stuck with a stock vg30dett though and you can make that same power fi not more from the single cam for less money and time. thats just my .02, peace.
