    Where did you find those?
  2. EZ's site says they have 1" Thick (Default) 1.25" Thick [Add $5.00] 1.5" Thick [Add $10.00] 2" Thick [Add $15.00] But I think you're correct, coilovers make it tough. Your car looks great, but those aren't the Mustang wheels I thought everyone was talking about. I was thinking they were the '05 wheels. 17x8.
  3. That would be a plan if I was going to paint the car. But my paint is fairly new so that's not an option. Nice job BTW.
  4. Did you try smaller spacers? Not knowing the offset, I've heard it was 45 but can't conform that. If thats true you could use a 1.75 thick adapter. How is clearance on the inside on your car? That 8" width is a killer.
  5. I haven't used these but................. http://www.ezaccessory.com/Wheel_Adapter_5_Lug_4_5_To_5_Lug_4_5_p/5450-5450.htm BTW do you now the offset on those Mustang wheels? I am running 40 offset wheels now and am running 1.5" adapters. I doubt the Mustang wheels offset would be anywhere close to 40.

The JTR instructions say to use 8mmx30mm socket bolts, nylon lock nuts and to use red locktite. I picked all that up at ACE (grade 10) but soon discovered the 30mm bolt are not long enough to engage the nylon on the lock nuts, I ended up using 40mm bolts.
  7. It looks awesome. Its very cool you were able to save the old girl.

    From the album: 280Z8

  9. I have a Showcar fiberglass bumper on the front (don't get me started on Showcar's crap, never again) so using a fiberglass one on the rear just seems logical. Good to hear it will fit with minor difficulty.
  10. I'm useing the 4l60E from my donor Z28 in my 77 280Z. I cut the tunnel and lowered a section where the shifter will mount. I dropped it about 2 inches and the stock shiter knob feels pretty good. I haven't got a console built for it yet. Picts of the mod, I'll try to get but I'll try to get some picts of the shifter tonight.
  11. How close is the rear bumper to the sides of the fenders? DOH! Never mind I just looked at you picts. Pict #7 tells me it will work for sure. Thanks.
  12. Thats pretty much what Motorsport said, I would have to extend it. But I wonder if they were talking about the 240Z stock location rather than having it tucked in tight. Steel bumper would be nice but in reality I doubt any bumper on our cars is really going to do much for protection. Hey, I was in Tucson a couple weeks ago, I should have looked you up.
  13. Cool, looks great. Thanks. I wonder why Motorsports said it wouldn't fit.
  14. I have searched and I can't find anything useful about using a 240Z rear bumper on a 280Z. I contacted Motorparts about their 240 fiberglass rear bumper http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7BSA01/50-1751. They said it would not fit a 280Z because the car does not have the indents the 240Z has and the bumper would require major modification. Has anyone been able to use a 240Z rear bumper on a 280Z? The stock bumper and mounting hardware have all been removed. I know I would need to make mounting brackets, thats not a problem.
  15. Thats what I was thinking. It sounded and felt really smooth and strong at WOT after it revved a bit. Wish I had the tach installed so I would know exactly at what rpm it took off.
  16. No smoke, that run was just a test to see what was or wasn't working. After i get the exhaust and O2 sensors installed we'll see if those Falken tires can stand up to the LT1!
  17. Hopefuuly I will have in a SE8 and actually make a run this time. How's that beast of your's running these days?
  18. I think that lack of O2 sensors is making it "miss" at low throttle, not to mention it is ungodly loud!
  19. I hear ya, I wish I had school as an excuse, LOL. I still need to finish the new dash and tail lights, get exhaust and figure out how to hook the AC pieces together before I can claim readability.
  20. Holy Cow dude, that should fly! My 280z LT1/4l60e is pretty much stock...for now. I would just like to get this thing road worthy before GA winter, LOL, Hits.
  21. Thanks Ryan. You were right, the suspension dropped a little more after the short run. Still need to get an alignment though. I'm a little concerned about that weird noise coming from the right rear when I'm backing up. I haven't had a chance to investigate yet.
  22. I was shocked nobody came outside to see what all the noise was about.
  23. Congrats on getting that tranny done and mounted. I know its been a struggle.
