  1. According to baddog's pictures the 240Z frames are bent. http://www.baddogparts.com/
  2. I have my badddogs already, going to install them this weekend, hopefully. Mine do NOT have the bend in them like your picture so I can't use the sheet metal screw idea. Maybe they aren't bent because they are for 280Z instead of a 240Z. My welding expert has suggested stitch welding them against the floor and adding some plug welds along the sides. Any opinions on the plug weld idea? I have removed all the undercoating from the old frame rails and totally gutted the interior including the old sound deadener. I have beat on the floor attempting to get the old rails as straight as possible, but these things are a mess.
  3. [quote name=woodboxer;763094[so what would u or anyone recommend ' date=' i have a 81 280zx and really want to put a front piece plus side on it , i live in Nova Scotia and will have to bring in anything I get but where would be the best place to get it and what would I expect to pay. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it as this is all new to me , PLEASE HELP thanks bob[/quote] Sorry, but that's the only fiberglass part I've ever bought. If the dude at Showcars had been up front with me on what exactly he was selling I would have been fine with the work I had to do. But he totally misrepresented the part, telling me is was ready for bolt on. I would not trust him again.
  4. Awesome job...and you're how old??? Amazing, like someone above said there is hope for the younger generation. Love the color. You should be very proud of your work and sticking with this project for this long is commendable.
  5. I use HID lights to shoot underwater video. My light are very bright but not near bright enough to be used as head lights. Making them waterproof is not hard, its the water pressure at 130 feet you have to worry about, its over 5 atmospheres I've seen home made light housings crush at that depth. That being said it would be possible to one of use these HID options. http://www.fashtek.com/?gclid=CPKN_vPx6okCFRE9FQodgASRKg
  6. Very cool seeing air under the front. What was your 1/4 time? Fred's car is a thing of beauty and pretty darn fast too.
  7. Like this? search for cup holders on EBay, where are a ton. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Saab-9-5-9-5-9-5-OEM-Dash-Mounted-Cup-holder-99-04_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ63691QQihZ013QQitemZ230122350177QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V
  8. LOL, speaking of searching. I was just on Ebay looking for air elbows and found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Camaro-Firebird-Trans-Am-LS1-Fuel-Line-Tap-Schrader-Tee_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33553QQihZ009QQitemZ190087853984QQtcZphoto $5 more than the site you posted!
  9. Searching works, but sometimes its like that grade school teacher always told us when we couldn't spell something....look it up! I'm amazed what I find when I'm lsearching for something else. I ordered one, if Warren and ScottieGNZ posted it, its gotta be good.
  10. Now that's totally awesome. Give us some time when you get the chance. Any idea on what the RWHP will be compared to the 388?
  11. CHA-CHING I think we have a winner, thanks man.
  12. The Japanese manga Wangan Midnight features an S30 which is nicknamed The Devil Z and is driven by the manga's protagonist Akio Asakura. A silver S30 is seen in the background in Fox Broadcasting Company's That 70's Show A red S30 can be seen in various shots, whilst parked in the staff car park in the Australian '90s teen soap Heartbreak High. A 260Z was one of the cars featured in Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo. This car was white with red and yellow stripes and a large black arrow-shaped emblem on the hood. It bore a number 35. Bruce Nolan has a 260Z 2+2 in Bruce Almighty (2003), but he transforms it into a Saleen S7 when he gets his powers. In the 1978 movie, Corvette Summer, Mark Hamill is told that his corvette is in a Las Vegas casino. When he arrives it is an early Z car with the same paint scheme. Numerous S30s, as well as other Z-Cars and Japanese sports cars, can often be seen parked outside Jerry Seinfeld's apartment as well as other locations in the hit television show "Seinfeld. In Life On Mars Series 2 Episode 1, Villain Tony Crane drives a Green 240z.
  13. When I pulled the engine from the Z28 the quick disconnect lines would not come off even using the proper tool until I released the pressure by opening the shadrer valve. Isn't that why its there? If I wasn't using the quick disonnects it wouldn't be an issue. I don't mind a little fuel spraying out, does that with the shrader vavle too.
  14. Cool, thanks one of these might work. Here's another good site for adapters. http://fittingsandmore.com/
  15. But you have to release the pressure on the lines or the quick disconnect do not want to come off. At least that's what I have found.
  16. I have searched this site and damn near everywhere else and can't find an answer. I am putting a fuel pressure gauge on the engine. Normally these hook up where the shrader valve on the fuel rail is which means if you want to leave it permanently mounted you lose the ability to purge the fuel lines. I am running stainless Corvette quick disconnect lines so I need to be able to purge the lines if I need to remove the fuel lines. Does anyone know of any "tee" fitting that would allow the pressure gauge and the shrader valve to be use at the fuel rail?
  17. Go to a local hydraulic shop and have a new flex line made, get swivel fitting at both ends.
  18. Mighty impressive. I plan on coming out your way this summer, brother lives in Tucson. Maybe I can run up and see that thing in person.
  19. You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, you sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called "Arthur King," you and all your silly English K-nig-hts.
  20. Fuel cells are required by many race sanctioning groups. They vary in capacity.
  21. Congrats. Sure is a lot of room in there compared to my LT1 with a full set of accessories!
  22. I am in the process of doing the same thing. This is what I am installing. Its welded together now but its not welded in the car yet. The angle pieces will be welded to the front and rear frame rails. I also plan on adding a 1x4 channel across the middle tying it into the side frame rails where the old sections were and tying it to both tank 1x2 channels. I think it will be stronger than what I cut out. I bought some truck bed floor sections to use as flooring (corrugated so it won't rattle). Since I'm using an LT1 tank the floor will have an access panel to get at the fuel pump without removing the tank, just in case.
  23. I like the gills, if I ever do body work on mine it will have gills. But my paint so too good to mess with now.
