Its just personal opinion for me. The 2+2 was built for marketing because sales were dropping on the 2 passenger car, baby boomers were having kids, LOL. I don't think it works very well with the basic design of the original car. My car was painted when I bought it so I don't know if the paint is Datsun or not. I've use Honda satin silver met NH623M touch up to repair some chips, its very close. The original color was 306.

Good God no, LOL. I really don't like the 2+2, just my opinion. My rear bumper is still stock 280Z but I bought a 240Z one I plan on using when I get the beast back on the road. I removed the stock one, its shocks and supports when I pulled the old gas tank out so I'm committed to using something else. However the 240Z one I bought needs work so we'll see if I can use it.

I have a fiberglass front bumper on my 280Z. I got it from Showcars which I DO NOT recommend. The quality was horrible and I basically had to do a lot of rework on the bumper to make it look decent. I also had to glass in mounting brackets since there were no provisions for them on the bumper when I got it. I made a curved 1/8" piece of aluminum with stand-offs for mounts and glassed it inside the bumper. I then made brackets to bolt onto the stock 280Z bumper mounts. I also added studs at each end to go though the fender in the stock locations. I'm sure it is totally useless for protection but looks much nicer than that ugly 280Z bumper. I am pleased with it now but would not buy anything from Showcars again.

That is quicker-240's car, he said it was a factory add-on. As loy said there was on on Ebay not long ago.

http://http://www.ringpinion.com/Calc_RPM.aspx You can punch in different MPH to see what RPM you will be at with different transmissions. Given your 3.90, 26" tire and auto tranny you'd be at 6055 at 117 MPH in top gear. Of course that's assuming you can go that fast in the 1/4.

You may have air in the lines. Try turning the steering wheel back and forth many times and see if it improves.

Those tank straps don't look like the stock Chevy straps. If not, what did you use? My stock straps will work but I will need a rather long ( about a foot) mounting bracket to hook up the "T" end.

Thanks. I made my mount today, not welded in yet. My tank will be not visible from the back at all and is still below the old floor. I will post picts as soon as I can get my buddy to weld it in.

Wow, what did you use for a mold release? Looks like it just bonded to the paint.

My new expression when people ask what I did over the weekend is "its hard to build a car". Right now I have both pipes coming out the driver's side. But with the new tank I will go with pipes on both sides. I don't have mufflers back there at all, just turbos up front (probably why its so loud). We'll see how it all works out. I'm still far away from worrying about that, just adding it to the while I'm at it list.

You're a freakin' genius, looks great. I was thinking about trying to use one of those covers like you see on Audi A4's but the odds of being able to line up the exhaust seems tough. Your method may be easier and certainly cheaper.

Glad I revisited this thread. Sorry about your paint, that sucks for sure. Like I said before I am vent interested in these. The blocked off vent is not an issue if it makes it easier to mold. Keep me posted as to if and when they are available. I'm about halfway through my LT1 engine swap, my hood is off so the time is right and these would add so much to the look of my car. Dale

I like it all especially the skirt. How exactly did you make that? Did you heat and mold the pipe or grind it to fit?

I saw it last night too after I posted my video. First thing I thought was "that post is doomed to be deleted". No clue where this guy got anyone was lying to anyone on that show. And even so, isn't that what the premise of the show is anyway?

I watched Pinks last night, both shows. The first one was enough to make you never want to watch the show again. The Z show was pretty good considering the Falcon was way out classed. It fell on its butt on the top end every race, especially the last one. John is a tough negotiator for sure but was forced into running without gas which he's not set up for, I can't blame him for anything. He gave the guy pretty much what he wanted and still kicked is butt. I think the Falcon dude was more upset with himself than anything else and just didn't handle the lose well. Competition rarely brings out the best in people.
