  1. Hamburger pan ehh? Damn now I have to go find the new Sumitt catalog! Cool I've been trying to find a good pan!
  2. Ahh ok!!! That makes sense! Thanks!
  3. I've been reading the great posts, Thanks! I am planning on painting my car soon ... in the garage of course. I read RacerX's info about the PPG DP40 primer.. sounds good.. now what does surfacer do? I've never heard of it before. Also I read about using a sealer.. is there a good sealer or are they all about the same?
  4. I know what you mean... I don't like the look of front bumpers. You could make your own. I am going to put together a set that sticks out about 6 inches from the front and has an 8 inch vertical bar on it, thats it nothing in front of the grill. I forget what they are called but I used to see them on VW bugs.

    LSD hybridZ buy

    Me Too! Me Too!!!!
  6. There is also a ground on the front passenger side inner fender you can check. Mine was missing, it broke off!!!
  7. I have an SBC 377, with a 350 crank. I am going to be getting a T-56. I was starting to look at lightened flywheels, but there are 2 different sizes...???? Which is the right one? Does it matter? Also since I am asking about flywheels, is there a quality difference with the different brands? Anyone know of any good deals? Thanks alot!!!!
  8. I think I found a good deal... what do you think? It's a Champ Pan made by JR Manufacturing part # CP50LT. 7 qt, 7 3/4 in deep, 7 3/4 in wide, rear is 12 in long. universal street / strip, 1 trap, 1 scraper, 2 runners, louvered windage tray. For $140. Will it fit an SBC in a Z or is it too deep? Thanks!
  9. Hmmm... I am pretty sure it's a 2 piece rear main. Well, I'll have to find out tomorrow! Thanks!
  10. I have a 280Z that is stripped down to the shell, I also have a 240Z. It is reall amazing to see how much heavier the subframes, frame rails, etc etc, the bars in the doors are much larger too. I am using the 280 for my V-8 conversion because of this. I'll have very little to do to make sure it's real nice and stiff!
  11. These are the biggest ones I've found.. can't remember the price though! http://sanerperffab.com/
  12. I guess I am wondering, if you use it on the outside, is it smooth?
  13. I just read about this in street rodder. Seriously, they were applying primer with a roller!!! Has anyone used this? I am wondering if it works as well as they say. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for posting the pic! I was thinking about going with theirs, but I would bang my helmet on the main hoop! Does anyone know of one with the main hopp set waaayy back?
  15. I will be finishing a 240Z very soon that I have sold. So I think the guy I am selling it to would love to have a working tach. Thank you!
  16. Sounds like you need to mount your diff the way Pete has. I just had the new mount made for mine cost me $80, but it sure looks pretty!
  17. I thought the listing for Nissan 200zx (R200) was the one people used. I haven't tried it yet myself, I am know a few people on the list said they were going to!
  18. Here's a post from 240Z.org e-mail list, it's not the digital MSD but it may work the same way! After missing a functional tach after my MSD 6A install, I found a post on utilizing a modified 280z tach. I didn't swap the face (kept 280z tach face), I simply performed the following steps: Remove 280z tach from tach housing (280z units are attached to dash differently). While you have the 280z unit exposed, find the medium sized resistor under the tach signal/input feed and jump it w/a small wire using a solder gun (believe resistor was brown w/some stripes...but don't quote me). Install 280z unit into 240z housing. I am sorry for not documenting this more clearly, the resister was pretty easy to identify once I opened up the 280 unit. You could test your newly modified tach before completing the dash installation by wiring it up under the hood (near the ignition coil). The modified 280z Tach will now get it's input signal directly from the TACH output on the MSD box. After you verified that everything works, simply return the tach to the original dash location and you are smiling again. Don't grin too hard, manny 72DD
  19. As I am very budget limited I am going to get a Phantom Grip LSD. Can't beat the price!
  20. $1700 Wow I didn't know they were that bad. Well those Canfields sure sound good! I think these will give me a good start. If I go over 400 hp, I don't think I'll mind !! Thank you for your help I really appreciate it!
  21. Thank you very much for replying! I should have let you know that one of the other reasons I wanted the aluminum head was for weight reduction. So for the best acceleration in my application would 210cc runners be too big? Or am I still way off? Thanks again!!!
  22. Grumpy.. your recent posts have been great! Unfortunately for me it's shown me how little I really know about getting what I want out of an SBC. So I figured I would see what you would recommend. I want to have a car I can drive every day, a strip / auto cross now and then, revs real fast and high... maybe 6500, and isn't too bad on the rear tires. I don't mind poor low end torque, or a slightly rough idle or using 93 octane. I have a 377 short block I am going to rebuild, and I have a 3.54 diff. I was planning on getting a T-56 too. I was thinking of getting AFR 210cc heads with a 64cc chamber, solid lifters, victor jr intake and a demon carb, and an 18lbs flywheel. I have no clue about which cam either, I've read alot about cams recently and I just seem to know less and less. What would you recommend? I don't have a huge amount of money (like most people!), I have to replace the rods and crank so changing the displacement wouldn't be too much trouble. Oh yea I forgot.. I am looking for around 400 hp. Thanks!!
  23. Someone (some where..??) said that you could add brass washers to th stock proportioning valve. I thought they said to add 2 washers. Of course I don't remember if they said to add it to the front or back.... I do plan on testing this in about a month!
  24. I'll get a set too! As Long Rod said I've gotta get a set anyway, I'd ratcher have a set of full length ones that fit!
  25. Boat motor tach adapter? Does MSD make it? Is that all you need? You wouldn't happen to have the part number would ya? I've been driveing around for quite a while without a tach in my 73 240 and haven't been able to find out what would really work. Thanks!!
