  1. Oh.. err.. right.. you'd think I would know that, being Australian and all. *jumps back in his box*. FWIW you could've meant an OS chicken RB30. Dave
  2. My 240 came with a rear bar? The sway bars, in conjunction with the springs (amongst other things) affect the amount of body roll you will get during cornering. The relative roll distribution front to rear determines the balance of the car, ie, which end lets go first. Thats about it really. FWIW I took my front bar off to get the chassis rail repaired, oversteered like nothing else. I would recommend adjustable bars so you can tune the roll distribution/car balance to your liking. Dave
  3. Would probably help if people knew where it was coming from? Dave
  4. Guys, After blowing 2 head gaskets in quick succession with not much detonation I started to think something was up. Low and behold the L28E head gasket I ordered last time blocks two water jackets between #2,3 and #5,6 on my F54/P90. Which would account for blowing #2,3 this time, and #5 last time. I just got a hold of the L28ET VRS kit (PN A1042-P792F) and the head gasket in this one does NOT block these two water jackets! PN for this gasket is 11044-P7911 according to the slip in the VRS kit. I also had a peer at the pic of HKS(Nismo?) 2mm head gasket and this gasket looks like it has the water jacket holes in the wrong places too. Though interestingly, the L28ET head gasket has a lot of the holes along the top for coolant flow on the spark plug side (top in that nismo pic) blanked off. Will be interesting to see how this one goes. Dave
  5. Thats fair enough. I didn't mean to bitch'n'moan, but I get the feeling everyone is going to laugh when I post my raw dyno dynamics figure in a little while. ``what? only xxxhp? somethings wrong with it?'' Oh well. Good luck with it and I hope it works well for you. Dyno dynamics is all we have here in Australia. I was trying to find a dyno tuning shop once and walked into the dyno dynamics factory here in Melbourne. Who'd've thought the dyno shop would be 2 doors from a tuner. :S They look like a good bit of kit. Dave
  6. Holy shitballs! That thing looks bloody awesome. Reminds me of the ones from the 280zx turbo SCCA cars pictured in ~how to modify...'. Awesome awesome awesome. Dave
  7. Is that because its Australian Drax? I am most interested in your signature. 232rwhp on a dynojet 195rwhp (with same setup i assume) on a dyno dynamics. So thats around 15% difference between the two? Dave
  8. Sounds like fun dude. Fair step down from T4 1.15 to T3 0.63, I bet its punchy! I look forward to the vids. Dave
  9. The BOV has to go before the T/B. The line goes after the T/B. Dave
  10. Been there, done that. I brought my L28ET with a SC14 1GGZE supercharger attached. Good for a whopping 4psi of un-intercooled goodness. My setup was extremely argicultural, no bypass valve for when the supercharger was switched off, draw through Holley (cough) so no intercooling. Basically, it sucked. If you're going to do it, do it properly, can't remember who has that green zed with a very clean supercharger install around here? I'm sure he'll pipe up. Looks tidy as! Dave
  11. Welding to cast is trickier than normal steel apparently? I have heard that you simply need to pre-heat the manifold before you weld it? Dave
  12. I think you'll find you're loosing compression. And its hardly ideal as far as I can tell. I'm getting an OEM gasket for it. We'll see how it goes. Dave
  13. SR gearbox swap should hold that depending on your driving style. Though I understand they're not that available in the states? People talk about the KA swap, yet to see evidence that the gearboxes are the same? Dave
  14. So according to my local dealer the 25 is superseeded by the 26, which is in turn superseeded by: A1042-P792F Dave
  15. Doesn't retarded timing favour the bottom end as the valve opens later so the air has less time to get in before the piston is all the way at the bottom of the bore and stops sucking? Dave
  16. Cheers z-gad. 91mm bore? Bloody heck, thats not going to do too well on my 86mm std bore L28. :S Dave
  17. Oh and how much is one of these HKS 2mm gaskets? Dave
  18. Sorry to drag up an old post, did anything become of this? Dave
  19. You can't put the pulley on wrong. It only has one keyway. Very your timing is right by taking oil filler cap off and checking that both #1 cam lobes are point upwards, then stick something down the spark plug hole and feel when it gets to its highest point. Then unbolt the timing marks and move them to the correct side. I think. Unsure if timing covers have the spots for both or not. Worst case, mark with some white out on the pulley for the timing marker that is there. Dave
  20. Some blocks have two different places on the timing cover that the timing markers will bolt to. My L24 had it at on the right spot you marked, the L28 on the left spot. Have a look there. Oh and forum software does not allow html. Click the little picture icon and then paste in the URL. Or i think its . Dave
  21. Yep. Never hurts to double check. Sounds like a mean head. Approx cylinder CCs? Dave
  22. From carfiche I get something that looks like: 11042 - P7925 11042 - P7926 Can anyone confirm this? Dave
