  1. That's about 200,000 miles. The stock Nissan head gasket works for 20+ psi, I have also used Felpro but many people say they have had trouble with Felpro. For fuel, you can upgrade the injectors but you will NEED to modify the computer, otherwise you'll run too rich, or not run at all. You need to swap to an aftermarket ECU, or chip and burn your current ECU. redz31.com has more info. As far as turbos, it depends on what power you want, not boost level. You can run 14 pounds on the stock turbo, but it won't be pretty. I ran a t3/t04e at 18 pounds, and made 390hp, 440tq... with room to spare on the turbo, but my 440cc injectors were maxed out. The stock turbo manifolds are pretty decent unless you are making gobs of power.
  2. when the fuel pump's dead. We were megasquirting a miata, and we had it running for a minute or two. Once it warmed up we had to turn it off and wire in fan control. After that it would only start and die, every time. we put gas in it, no go. later, the guy shorted some circuit in his stock AFM (he stock ECU was removed, though), and the fuel pump started working... Now my friend is convinced that the manifold vacuum was somehow sucking in fuel from the injectors... I told him that's impossible, there's no way there's enough vacuum to suck fuel passed the injectors that are only open for 5 ms, even less to pull the fuel passed a dead fuel pump along with that...
  3. I told him to... and he tried to punch me again. We really get along though, and he always pays me a minimum per week even if I turn out no jobs that week.
  4. ...and I dropped my 3/8" craftsman ratchet, which somehow blew apart (snap ring) and lost the spring, rendering it useless. So the Snap-On guy came by and I forked over $77 bucks for the same damned thing.... Grrrrr...
  5. A quality bar and plate design, with a thickness of no more than 3", decent endtanks on the longest/tallest core you can find.
  6. If you pay for shipping and my gas from san antonio...
  7. Because I'm gonna be there when school starts...
  8. I did 20 degrees retard soft limit, and cut fuel and spark for overboost.
  9. You don't want your turbo (center section) angled more than 15 degrees in any direction, it's bad for oil flow, or so I've heard.
  10. Let me stick with what I know. My 84 AE injectors were low impedence. I measured them. I also blew up my flyback circuit on MS with them.
  11. My 84 AE was low impedance. I think all z31 injectors were low.

  13. Thanks all. It's going to sit for a while, I owe my life and first born to Snap-On (not really), and after all that I'm going to college many states away after the summer. Hopefully I'll have had a job and sent myself presents when I come back!
  14. Those had headgasket problems, but besides that are awesome cars. And it's an inline 6...
  15. Ha ha! Yeah, it is now that I thing about it. Well, that gives me even more room now!
  16. Here are some better pics with crossmember installed, and more engine attached. Also, the car is raised up more, but still not enough.
  17. Very rough... As in on an engine stand at the wrong height, etcetera. More pics at: http://www.blozup.com/images/thumbnails.php?album=9 Yes, the Passenger mount is moved forward, and won't fit with an alternator in the stock location. But this would allow me to fit both mounts on the crossmember, assuming the engine doesn't move back too much, which I want it to... I'm going to clean up the xmember and get it on there and raise the car up today. I have nothing better to do.
  18. The only balance motors I know of are the inline 6 and V12... I've always heard bad stories with honda's and underdrive pulleys that don't have some sort of dampening effect. Trash the oil pump and ruin the engine. I wouldn't do it unless a lot of people have done it for a while without problems. So far I'm not sure an underdrive crank pulley is still available for the VG30xxx.
  19. Make the car as light as possible!
  20. I'll be using the stock distributed ignition, only with an MSD coil or something. So either MSnS or MSII can handle it. I think I'll just go with MSnS, since that's what I had running with excellent results (nearly perfectly tuned A/F, no idle (injector pulse or valve) problems, etc)--PLUS, it has boost cut which I can't find in the MSII version of MT. It also has more options for the rev limiter, and a staging limiter among a lot of other features. I think they outweigh the more resolution available on the advance and fuel tables on MSII.
