  1. got to love them there open fenderwells! [/b]:newWindow('ab-slideshow.php?listid=115861438315651', '780', '570');"] That thing has to be way flexy!!!
  2. Looks nice in the car!!! how much does it weigh? I would almost think you could scrap the steel under frame an just have a shell made of the bed-liner. Definitely much better looking and long lasting than a dash cover!
  3. that only goes so far...at some point where it looks like pebbles piled where the weld is supposed to be then it is not really a weld... That was probably a MIG welder set up for sheet metal and he tried to weld that 1/8"+ thick rollbar material with it. Even if he god decent welds it would not be good because of a lack of weld penetration... I only have a diploma in welding and joining technology...
  4. I could have made better welds by spitting on the metal...I'm suprised that a Japanese built car that looks so good has such junky welds. Oh well..
  5. Thanks Kjones! I would really like to see some pictures of the z fiberglass parts if they are really as bad as 240zttV8 says. Most of the time parts need some bondo but as long as the fitup is good and does not need much cutting to fit then it still seems to be a decent deal
  6. I had a buddy do that to me once...He was trying to point out to me the Audi quattro tranny and the rear driveshaft. He said it all looks stock and he made it look that way. It was a VW Jetta...lol. He had the light up pedals and everything...
  7. I was just thinking the very bottom part that is flopping under the air dam...
  8. I lost my in car vids from the tail of the dragon...accidentially got deleted...
  9. sounds pretty good! do you have a muffler further up in the exhaust? Mine is very raspy sounding but then again my header is very different. 2.75" seems a little big for a non turbo motor IMO... Here is mine with a 2.5" pipe
  10. nice photos!!! Maybe you need to add a small leaf spring behind the Home depot lip.
  11. just jab the brakes and crank the wheel around... I've played on a gravel road back before I started upgrading the suspension and other parts.
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ReWP6x8wN4 Flatspots!
  13. aren't you not supposed to talk about it? needless to say the best looking/running/modified Z cars are 260's...
  14. It looks like somebody didn't like slamming their knee into the bumper shock...
  15. For a gas engine you do't want to use the LD28 rods. They are WAY too heavy. Why not use the LD crank, LD block, L24 rods, and whatever head you want? You can also go WAY higher bore than that (like another 3-4mm). Rods: The LD rods are aprox. 145mm and the L24 rods are aprox. 133mm so you would want to get a piston with a taller pin height to make up for the extra gap in the engine. Also remember that lowering the engine raises the output shaft on the tranny and inducing more wear on the tiny driveshaft U-joints. Just some of my thoughts...
  16. That one has shaft play though... Why not just get a rebuild kit and DIY? There are plenty of members on here making 350+hp with a T3/T4 hybrid...
  17. Well I am looking at making a trip to the tail of the dragon sometime in December. Anyone want to go? There is a rumor going around that the Dragon will be shut down from automotive use and for bicycles and foot travel only. I definitely want to go on it before it closes "if it does" for the new highway. This is from tailofthedragon.com Some rumors about the Dragon's future. The first involves a proposed Interstate that will follow US129 from Robbinsville to KnoxvilleCLICK HERE and CLICK HERE This is virtually impossible because of various endanged species that exist in the area and the fact that US129 ROW borders the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, a hands off area for any such projects. Another new rumor has the road being shut-down to all but foot and bicycle use. A new motorsports park in southern Tennessee is in the planning stages. CLICK HERE to email planners of your interest
  18. I had lost about 18 pounds since the day I got injured. I have gained back a few pounds since I am at home and have access to better food (liquified). For a guy that is 6ft tall and was almost 160 pounds that is not that great. I got as low as 142 pounds but have gained a few pounds back. If anyone wants a good diet: tie your jaws together!!!
  19. BLAHAHAHA!!!!!! You should have seen me trying to learn how to drive a stick in my 260! it ws almost like that but on pavement! imagine a lightle modded engine, blown struts, and really weak springs! think rid em' cowboy! My Z would buck and then try to throw me through the windshield!
  20. speedracer: Check out this website: www.zdayzevents.com It is a Z car show at Fontana Village and you get to see 260+ Z cars on the dragon! I ran the dragon twice and scrubbed off about 10k miles worth of rubber! Gret road! At ZdayZ 06 I met several Z forum people including 2003z, 240hoke, boostmonkey, Zrush, and a couple other people. Not all of them are HybridZ members but it was cool to meet them. I'll try to come this year with a better looking Z this year.
  21. I think it is about time for a career change!! The problem with school is that you can't do near as many sketches...I think I did 1 while I was down at school before I got injured... I think the camo Zzzap paint job turned out well. It would look better on a Z lifted 3" and 29" tall super swampers...
  22. Well I pretty much talked myself out of the thing that there is anything wrong with my engine. I found that the flywheel bolts had backed out 8-O a little bit. I had torqued them down but I think I need new ones and to use proper lock-tite. Anyway...this is right after removing my piston... And after a quick sanding and polishing. It's OTM's face!!! with a broken jaw! You can sort of see the rubber bands in my mouth holding my jaws together. I think this will help keep heat out of the piston a little bit. Anyway if it does NOTHING for performance it is cool Unfortunately the camera that took the nice top pic got damaged in my bike wreck so I have to use this older camera on the bottom pic. V8 (or soe other engine) plans are still there but I just want to have my car back together and mobile in 2 weeks. 2 pistons down, 4 to go!
  23. The site is now shut down. I can't find any pictures of the car beside the one on the book cover and a few other small body pictures.
