  1. Thanks! I did not lose any teeth but some of mine on the bottom near the middle where one of the full breaks is have shifted and turned a little bit. Orthodontics..again. I also had to withdraw from school for the semester and a bunch of my courses (calc1, chemistry1, and engineering orientation) aren't offered next semester so I will be behind in a bunch of courses. Bummer.
  2. and what do you do with a jaw wired together? you go out in the cold garage and start polishing a cylinder head... and then to look at my flywheel and know something is up...I find out that SPEC sent the wrong flywheel...240mm flywheel with a 225mm clutch. Only 700 miles on both so I am just going to get a better clutch to match...
  3. Late last week I had the rubber bands taken off of the 12 or so rubber bands that were holding my jaws tightly together. This morning I went to the surgeon and got the sleepy juice to remove the metal bars that were tied to me teeth with 24 guage wires. I think I had either 10 or 12 teeth with the wires wrapped around them. I woke up at home and was walking with help from my mom and brother to the front door. I don't remember being awake at the doctors office or getting in the honda. I am getting over the soreness from the teeth being tied together and can chew really good. For those of you that missed the story I was away at college and riding my mountain bike to barnes and noble to go buy the book "maximum boost" by corky bell. Anyway I was about 300 feet from the store and had just passed over a main intersection and was going downhill. I had just shifted into high gear and stood up on the pedal. At about 20mph the chain decided to come off the front gear and the bike naied the curb and I went straight down the bike lane. It felt like I popped my jaw out of place when I hit the ground (while wearing my helmet that never got scratched) because it was stuck open. I grabbed my jaw with both hands and pushed it forward into place. It popped into what I thought was it's socket but it just got moved into where it should have been. The traffic was also just coming through the intersection so I was really close to a lot of cars driving by. An off-duty firefighter, nurse, and another student from my college stopped by. The other college student stayed with me the 6+ hours in the hospital which was nice. When I was sitting on the curb I started to white out and about 5 people were asking me what hurt and other things and I could not think. It just got to where I could only see white and not do anyhting. I could only hear what people were saying but I could not respond until I laid on my back and started to clear everything up. This morning I went to the surgeon and got these bars removed. I have not been able to properly chew food since before October 6th. After I had my arch bars installed in my mouth and stayed at school for a week of classes I decided that I could not continue my classes with my ailments. I was only able to eat 700 calories a day worth of ensure and apple sauce. I also ate a bit of baby food with a LOT of salt mixed in. This is in my dorm room a few days after my surgery. I had this huge Jay Leno chin from the 2" wide gash that ripped a flap of flesh open. I had only 10 stitches on my chin and it is really good now. The reason my upper lip is so messed up and not my nose is because my jaw broke and got pushed back so my lip hit the ground. I messed up the skin on the palm of my hands pretty good too. That actually hurt worse than my jaw. I startd out on October 6th at about 160 pounds...I got down to 141 pounds before I got my jaw opened back up and I have gained a few pounds back. Anyway everything is out of my mouth and the three breaks are healing pretty good. I had three main breaks and the front had a BUNCH! of smaller breaks. Another thing... I had not showered much in the few days before this pic...Not fun with open wounds. EEWWW
  4. nice! the front end looks different than a Z...mysterious.
  5. Lets just say If I found a series 1 240Z I would restore it and sell it for mucho casho and then get a 72 or 73 and then build a good lightweight hybridZ. As far as the scarabs go... I don't know.
  6. so you are doing a shelby daytona coupe copycat? Very cool. Just get two, 2 inch "purple hornies" from summit and then paint them black.
  7. I think you could get a good 200hp if you went crazy on it...The head is cast iron so it would be pretty hard to do any porting. A L6 turbodiesel has been done in a Z before and the car ran off of biodiesel. It could go a good 120mph is what the owner says. Unfortunately there are no under-hood pictures of it. Plus he was getting a good 35 or so mpg...He probably had around 140 horsepower but it was all low end AutoX baby!!!
  8. or you could swap in a LD28 into a Z and put the turbo stuff from a 280zxt on it...instant datsun turbodiesel
  9. just lift the rear of the car by the differential and put jackstands under the rear somewhere that looks like a strong framerail. Then lift the front by the engine cradle crossmember and put jackstands just inboard of the control arms. That is how I put my Z on jackstands.
  10. yasin... I like your selection of boxes... garrett, summit racing, Tokico, and all those other cool looking things...
  11. I got in serious doodoo when my parents saw what I did to the floor when I pulled my motor...It is all good now. I found the powder abzorb works better than the pebble-ish stuff. I am going to keep everything clean for assembly of my next engine. I will have a bright shiny P30 block ready to sell soon. A wire brush on a drill works really good!!! My engine was soo leaky it is not even funny. My oil pump leaked soo much that my crossmember had a good half inch of oil and gunk on it.
  12. If you have decent sized tires a bat should work. With smaller tires(ie 205/50r15) it would be hard to do. I heard to put the bat in the fender and rolling the car worked the most evenly.
  13. Aren't all F54 blocks the same except one oil hole? I am looking to get a bare (ie no crank or anything) F54 block just to start my build...I already have an L28 crank from my L26 and the same L28 rods... You really need to do a video of this puppy!!! Rocking those garage oil stains!!!
  14. That looks great phil!!! YOu need to do a video!!! You still runing a dump pipe? Is theis the motor you got the other week with flattops but with your other dished pistons? Another thing... With the rustoleum paint job you don't get all upset if you scratch the paint...
  15. it is fiberglass so it can't support any unibody forces. I don't think the actual fender only goes up to the top body crease and you have to bond it over the panels that are already there.
  16. At my (parents) house we have a 2 car garage and it used to be so full of junk you could not park one car in there. After I bought my Z I wanted to put it in the garage so I cleaned out a bunch of junk and moved in... Now 2 sportscars, 1 engine hoist, engine stand w/L6, tool chest, shelving, and some antiques... In a small 2 car garage. I have to move my Z out to work on anyhting but it is pretty light weight since it is mostly stripped out. The Porsche 944T sits on the other half and it is not running (Air fuel ratio sensor broke, Now have to pull intake, fuel rail, etc to get to it.). Wayy too complex of a car... And it is too heavy to just push around
  17. I don't use the floor pan reinforcements since my passenger side one is pretty rusty. I lift my car by the differential in the rear or the engine crossmember up front. (not the radiator support!) I am going to do my flinstones conversion shortly and then weld in new floorpans and reinforcements.
  18. Mikelly: your car is looking great! My car has been sitting most of the time since June of 2005 so I know what it is like not to drive the car forever as many guys here do. That windshield reinforcement looks sweet!
  19. HAHA... LOL I have no idea what that is from though... Brapparappa comes from when you overrev your L6 and blow a pushrod... It goes braap and then rappa
  20. OHHH... I see. I thought the chassis would only be kept in place from forward/sideways motion and free to move vertically but that makes more sense.
  21. I would soo want to be there and help out but the 20th is the day I have to be back at college for next semester... Oh well. what if you setup a threaded rod and motor to each suspension member so that you could remotely change the ride height? That way you could change ride height sitting in a control room and playing with a controller. Just a random idea I had...
