  1. Working on my 82 turbo 2x2. Just need some inspiration i guess. How far gone was your Z!? And how did you tackle the seams that the wonderful seam sealer did not protect. My car is as good of shape as i can get in canada. Thats what i tell myself anyway. Also any rust eliminating/preventing tips would apreciated. I have done this before and learned the hard lessons but unibodies are a whole other animal
  2. So you should have a 3.062 1st gear 5 pseed and a 3.90 currently. Id probaly just stick with that unless you feel your over reving on the highway or 1st gear is useless under high throttle
  3. The na body should have an r200 3.90 in it. I have those 2 exact cars and car verify they are both r200 as i changed the input flange from one to the other in my tranny swap

  5. Id have to agree aswell. I was going to put my 3.90 in but theres a reason the turbos came with 3.54. Mine is stock setup running 10psi and i still rip through 1st barely getting full boost

You know you own a datsun when the rusting keeps you awake at night You dont have the heart to scrap your parts car that you can see 3 of 4 tires from the drivers seat Have seriously thought of bolting zinc anodes onto it Have gone on many a test drive to test your new part with major parts missing(taillights bumpers hood insurance..) Have to insure it every year even though it looks like garbage with different fenders and primer spread about Have no exhaustt due to 5 speed install 2 years ago and still drive it because "turbo cars dont need reeaallly need mufflers" Have been at over 100mph and had your fenders fly up like wings simultaniously because the tiny c clamps holding them on fell off (parts car true story)
  9. Just weld small spots in alternating sides and it should be fine. There just sheet metal same as the rest
  10. Frame rails are are a joke, cant even jack on them just a sacraficial part to drag on things
  11. Find a hood or something off an old truck or something (a lot cheaper than buying metal) and start cutting and bending. Im curently doing that ( old hood off my 77 chev) if you just alternate small tacks around the pan until its welded then hit it with some seam sealer you shouldnt tweak the car

  13. Theres no spring in them if theres no vacuum or theres pressure its shut

  18. I would like to see how people have made there s130 look good with no front bumper, just ordered an airdam and i love the open look of th s30 front with a big ol intercooler in there. I need to find out how to un ugly the area on the side between the headlight bucket and airdam where the bumper would fit
  19. I think the air while idleing goes thru the cold start crapp. I tried pluging it the other day to find a vac leak
  20. Could add a temporary universal one till you can find a junkyard one. Wish i could get hold of a manual system..
  21. Just a thought, if the check valve is bad your turbo could be boosting your crankcase
