  1. If its that easy to modify the harness I will just use the stock harness to start. I would prefer just to boost up the stock turbo's to start. There engine swap project cost enough, and this is my second one. I have priced them out and yes. Cost is $1000 on a everything brand new using factory connectors with fuse panel and wired for VVTI. Extra 100 bucks for an auto trans Mustang ECU's are soo much easier. Chip, tune, can handle well over 1000 whp regardless of mods.
  2. Setup in the 71 Datsun 240Z with Aristo 2JZ VVTI. Stand Alone vs modified harness. I am not familiar with import stand alone harnesses like the one from AEM and haltech etc. Do they replace the entire engine wiring harness or use the stock harness? A swap harness for my engine using the stock ECU is going to run me about $1000 if I purchase one. I may rewire the stock one as needed but I like to know my options. I had Gen VII DFI in my old mustang and it replaced the entire harness with the use of a crank trigger. The AEM seems to using the factory sensors and harness while utilizing the stock harness. My thinking is : If I'm going to spend $1000 on a rewired stock harness and I could find a used standalone with its own harness for not much more money it would be more cost effective. I will have to go stand alone eventually. Thanks Ryan
  3. That's more along the lines of what I'm looking for. I have been trying to find some pictures of people that used the 92+ camaro gas tank flipped. Electric pumps already installed, charcoal box in place, fuel sender, etc.
  4. You sure that will clear? Most of the one I see put the turbo upwards and tucked in close to the block. Let me know how she turns out
  5. my bad. Mixed up John and Tech 2. I have the tech 2 kit myself.
  6. Even if that business is closed down and there now making any more?
  7. Would be nice to keep the spare. I like going to events in the across the boarder in the us that are 5-22 hours away. I would prefer to use the stock filling location. Money isn't an issue, building it right is. How are the fumes from the fuel cell inside the cabin?
  8. I was thinking GT35R or something around 68mm with .81 a/r on the hot side. I will probably need to add the corn to support the boost. This car is a street car that will see road course duty and probably the drag track for some shits and giggles. Was your manifold for a T4 housing?
  9. I am researching the requirements for a fuel system setup that can handle 600whp. I'm looking for a quiet system preferably an in tank setup. Bolt in in better as I would rather spend my time driving than wrenching once its completed. Car will be set up with the stock Aristo 2JZ GTE VVI @ 14 psi initially until a single setup and aftermarket engine control can be purchased and installed. My 4V modular power fox body uses twin in-tank Aeromotive 340 LPH pumps, single #8 feed and a # 6 return to Aeromotive fuel rails, Aeromotive Boost sensitive regulator, and 42 lb injectors. Car makes 525 hp, 505 tq, idles smoothly, drives like stock (until a heavy foot) gets 24 mpg and is very easy to driver; a true street car. You cannot hear the fuel pumps running. Put your foot into it and punished the tires. The car is fun and so much fun to drive, dead reliable and I would like to replicate that in my 71 240 2JZ vvti swap.
  10. Just be carful with the multi disks setup. Where the single disks may slip some, they save your transmission. If you clutch latched perfect and doesn't move the transmission takes all the force. I have an older 1993 mustang fox body coupe with a newer 2004 4.6 4V cobra engine. I have a single 11" clutch. Car makes 525 hp 500 tq and I launch it at 4500-5000 on drag radials and it bites hard.
  11. Badass. How was the 76 GTS on the street for driving? custom header? Wat was the primary size?
  12. Aristo 2JZ GTE's complete with harness and ecu's can be found for $1500 or less. You need a 1JZ pan or one of the non turbo pans and tap it for the return. Easy, simple, cheap, and you get a 2J
  13. Tech 2 is your best bet. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Datsun-240Z-260Z-2JZ-Swap-Kit-Made-In-USA-/230950856220?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35c5be661c&vxp=mtr
  14. Torque would rip everything part. That motor is very tall and heavy. BUt if thats your thing go for it.
  15. Probably just a cheaper way of building them, but I'm not complaining lol
  16. I was just starting to plan my hydroboost setup when I cam across this article. Awesome write up. Thanks for doing all the leg work. I will doing this conversion at a later date/
  17. The Aristo pickup wouldn't but the SC300 pick will. It has to be tapped for the oil return for the turbo's but it will work. Tap size is 8 x 1.25mm. Hole size is 20mm. 18. Anyone confirm that the SC300 oil pan will work?
  19. From my understanding the Aristo 2JZ's oil pan wont clear the rack in my 71 240Z. Are there any other cars other than the Supra for oil pan/pickup sources?
  20. You can always put a T56 6 speed from a Camaro which is a wider ratio and damn strong
