  1. Perfect. I bought the same kit and I was thinking I would be the first one to get it in place but its still too cold to work in the garage. Keep posting updates! Do you think the 1.5 primary headers will be big enough? Can I ask a favor? Measure from the valley tray to the bottom of the hood latch. I want to order a Mid-ride Holley intake but I'm not sure it would fit.
  2. I will have one in a week or two but I'm from canada. No rust but it will have been oiled alot.
  3. I have an agreed valu put on my car. If it get wrecked. 25K in my pocket.
  4. I have aviator motor in my 93 fox coupe (same as mach 1 minus the intake) I have a stock eaton on it at 9 PSI (one more PSI than stock) and it makes 660 whp 440 TQ. Eaton will stick through the hood. I picked up tyhe motor complete for 1000 from the wreckers. Mods are the twin 62mm tb and cai. 96 intake, and stock exhaust cams were used. Car runs 11.5@122 on 17' drag radials. Car weighs 3108 lbs no driver. Drop that setup in a datsun and it will be fun!
  5. Just curious if the ls3 camaro pan clears the cross member? Truck pan on my setup is a little low.
  6. Sent them an email. They said the trans mout will work with both. They even mention it in the video. There looks to be a hole to bolt stright up. Just waiting on tolerable weather to start.
  7. You will have top share your IRS setup with me. I dont see it living too long in stock form! I know the 00-04 cobra IRS kills 60 ft times. They have trouble with wheel hop. How big a shot on the stock 5.3 was he running?
  8. Solid Axle vs IRS IMO. Most dont want to break and leave lightly. I have a 93 Mustang LX coupe with a 4V and 6 speed from a 03 Cobra. Motors stock with cai and TB. It makes 440 whp 460 tq. On 17" drag radials the car runs 11.30's@122 on street trim with 18x9" rims on the front. The IRS cobra making the same power are a solid second behind me because I can launch. I'm shooting for 600 streetable horsepower and run in the 9's to begin with. Car has to be able to drive long distances. I live near Toronto Canada and I like to visit events in the US, the closest being about 6 hours away.
  9. It will be NA to start. Plan is to get it up and running in pretty much stock form. The exception may be a camshaft/spring setup. Honestly I would prefer to find a LS 6 intake but there selling for $650, I would rather use the $500 towards the Holley intake.
  10. Looks like the kit has provisions for mounting it in the stock location. I will confirm one I get there.
  11. Perfect thanks! I think your right about the hood pins. Seems only the LS1/2/6 intskes will fit under there. I wanted to run the Holley Hi-rise intake but it sits about 2" above the hood. Maybe I will make a shaker hoof like the old 6.6 TA's
  12. I want to pull the Datsun motor but having a non heated garage its too cold right now. Its minus 15 (without wind chill) in the garage. Its suppose to warm up next week so I will see what I can accomplish then. The LS harness doesn't seem to difficult. I'm using a 2005 computer and harness. There's a you tube video step by step and there other site like http://lt1swap.com/wiringharness.htm to tell you what to remove. I want drive by wire and cruise so mine will be a little more complicated. The CX mounts appear to be stainless except the piece that directly bolts to the motor which is aluminum. Welds are good. I will keep everyone posted.
  13. Lets see pics of the hood Miles! I'm just starting the same swap.
  14. This is the piece that is slight welded off. I dont think it will be a big issue.
  15. CX Racing kit arrived. Welds are very nice. Pieces look good. Only issue I see is that the transmission flangs is welded slightly off resulting in a 1/16 difference in mount being perfectly square. It may be designed that way. Not sure. Sending an email to CXRacing ro question them Trans mount Motor Mount
  16. I'm from Canada so it may cost you. Just from the bottom of the intake runner (lowest point on intake) to the bottom of the hood latch.
  17. The LS1 intake is not the best choice and would reduce HP on my 06 aluminum L33. Unfortunately, I cant even find an LS1 for under $250 and it still needs fuel rails. The LS6 Dorman (again no rails) is my best option but I want to see someone run it with boost before I buy it. I will be running the CX racing mounts which should be here any day. I'm researching while waiting for parts to arrive, If I can get an estimate then I can order an intake. I might trying one of those cheap Australian sheet metal intakes. Yes I understand what i'm buying, and the repercussions. The intake is physically shorter than my truck intake but considerably higher than a LS1 intake. Just throwing around idea's and putting them to paper. If someone could take 5 minutes and measure it would be appreciated
  18. Can someone measure from the bottom of there lowest part of the runner in there intake manifold to where the bottom of where the hood latches on there 240Z. I want to order an intake but I'm nit sure if it will clear the hood latch. LS1 and LS6 intake prices are out of control. LS1 intakes are topping 300+, LS6's are 400+. Too much for a stock intake. Thanks Ryan
  19. Has anyone used the stock manifold on there swap? Manifolds are cast steel so they can be welded. I'm going to see what my clearance on my L33 and see if I can get enough room for vbands or extend a exhaust pipe down further. Just curious if anyone else has tried.
  20. Those header are 1.5". Im going to stick with the 1 3/4 sanderson ones. I would like LT's but I'm on a tight budget due to the costs of finding a T-56.
  21. My CX Racing kit should be here in a few days. No one has used the kit yet so I though I would be the test pilot. There slightly I spent some time on the phone before ordering. The car in the video is a 240z. There trans mount seems to fit that tunnel just fine. I asked and they so it fits the 240z. There kit allows adjustment of the engine forward and backwards in 1/2" increments which is a bonus. Trans mount seems to be a solid design. I didn't order there headers for the kit because there anemic. There only 1 1/2" primaries on there what I would call mid length. I have a local guy who will fab up 1 3/4 Long tubes for 1000 plus material. It was -19 F today inside my garage and the 240V heater can't keep up. It needs to be warmer for me to work on it. I will report my findings. I will be installing a L33 in my 71 240z CX racings video of there kit in a 240z
