  1. Hey guys, Just wanted to let everyone know I met Jon yesterday and he was a real nice guy. Easy transaction, no worries. Thanks Jon and let me know if I can anything for you when you get that other ZX. I'm thinking Turbo LS6 would be just about right. Later, Cody
  2. Sorry I don't have your answer but, it seems like changing the tail shaft out might be the best option.
  3. Jon, Got your text message but, my phone didn't capture your # give me a call back when you can. Cody
  4. That white car sure is nice. Love the rims and the stance it has. Looks like it could use a LSD though.
  5. You might want to get a tubing wrench for the fittings. Also make sure to use a new unopened botle of brake fluid when you fill your system.
  6. Consider the shocks sold!!!! If it's not to late go ahead and bring them up to "Big D" when you come. I'll P.M. you with my cell #. I'd like to pick them up Sunday if possible
  7. Mike, what I did for a head bolt removal tool was to buy the correct size allen wrench and then use a 3" grinder with a cutoff weel and cut the "L" shape off. Then youu take a 1/2" drive socket and put the two together to make the correct tool. I guess you could weld them together if you wanted but, that would proubly take the heat treatment out of them.
  8. So are you in Dallas or Houston? Both? Intreasted in the shocks. Let me know!
  9. Thats funny! "It was quite obvious she wanted me" Yea right...
  10. I totally agree with you on this one! Seems like it's more of a show place and less of a work place. Oh well maybe some day...
  11. So how do the plugs look now. Covered in oil, fuel, water???????
  12. I used to run a CFDF and it worked great until I got to about 300 and then it started to slip while in 5th gear with a load. It would grab after about I got the RPM's up and really move then. As far as it being used up quickly, I've heard that before and I did not experience that I also had a rear main seal leak so that could have been part of the proublem. What I did see was that the prssure plate and the flywheel had several hot spots and didn't look very good. I think that was mostly due to the slipping though and not the material being used.
  13. Looks like a good endorsment to me. So what does that thing weigh?
  14. I think we've all been there alteast once. Sorry to hear about it.
  15. Thats almost to nice to work in. Wouldn't mind the car though. As a back up to the Z of course.
  16. Looking at the Spec website it looks to me like the Stage Two would be something worth tring out. 450' capacity and it's not one of those 3,4, or 6 puck disc. I tried a 6 puck disc in the past and well it sucked. I only ran it for 1000 miles. That was one rough 1000 miles thou. In all honesty, I wrecked the car after that so I'm not sure how it would have been after more miles.
  17. If you do some searching on here there is some information about running an '87 clutch and P.P. combo. It's supposed to have great charateristics and you can get it from Nissan. You will have to have the flywheel redrilled so the P.P. can bolt up. Look for post with the author name" Lockjaw" He runs that setup and have gone deep in the 12's with it. I oersonally run an upgraded disc with a H.D. pressure plate. Works great but, it does take alittle getting used to. It's not quite as easy to slip and it does take it's toll on you in traffic. On the up side it doesn't tear up the flywheel and is smooth and predicable.
  18. Thanks for the information. I'll have to give them a shot and report back. Let us know your results.
  19. I once drove an automatic ZXT and from what I remember thats sort of the way it felt. Not much power then wham it all hit at once and took off. No dought you may other issues but, I think thats kind os how they where made. Can anyone confirm this? As for the other issues check all of your vacuum hoses and make sure all your grounds and electrical connections are good. This can make or brake one of these cars.
  20. I was going to ask "How in the world did you get a hole in it? I see now. The tapping and oil plug sounds like a good idea to me but, I would make sure the plug does not extend out past the pan. Also I would use good Loctite that would prevent it from backing out.
