  1. This car had no intercooler in the first place I was refuring to the 300ZXTT not the eariler models of the Z car.
  2. Thanks, I had an extra downpipe that the studs were broken on and the O2 sensor hole was all burgered up on so I just cut off the the flange and used it on the new downpipe. I then ported it so it was alittle larger than the hole at the end of the turbo. Helps it prevent reversion of exhaust gases if it exists in this area. I dought it does though.
  3. It's not all that hard. Very time consuming. Hit my website and you can see a few pics of mine. I still need to redo some of the middle section of the exhaust but, it works and flows so much better than stock.
  4. What about the main and output shafts on the Ford T-5. I'm sure I can find one somewhere to look at. I always thought that the cases where the same but, the gears where different. What about the lazy gears that are in the Ford T-5? Would I just need to change my gears?
  5. You can't tell me this wastegate can't help improve flow over almost all internally gated waste gates. That's just beautiful man......
  6. Hey Donna, haven't seen you on the board in awhile. Still got the sweet ZX? That certainly changes the out look. Weld it up and give it a try. Don't forget there is a reason there are upgrades to the stock intercoolers for these cars. I would still do some test for pressure loss thru the cores once you get it all done. Another thing to think about it that I'm sure they will be more efficent than the stock intercoolers due the better placement infront of the radiator instead of in the fenders.
  7. The 300ZXT intercooler would not be big enough for the L28 to use. Maybe if you combined the two it would be OK. Not the best. With the cost of intercoolers coming way down it's just not worth it anymore to use the less efficent factory intercooolers like it once was.
  8. An external wastegate can help to produce power in a couple of ways that I can think of quickly if prouperly designed. 1. Better location to pull the waste gas from. 2. Can be divorsed and not run back into the exhaust system. This would help with flow of both the main system and the wastegate system. 3. Does not dump the waste gas back into the downpipe causing turbulance and reduced flow. Thats what I can think of while I'm at home on lunch. Having said all that I will proubly will run the internal wastegate for an increase of another 100hp or so from where I am now. Which should be in the high200's low 300rwhp range.
  9. Thats wh22au'm asking????????????
  10. I wonder if he's going to try and drive like that?
  11. You might the seat rails made for Corbeau seats. The set that I have for my 280ZX are flat on top. I would think you could just drill new holes and bolt the seats to them. I think I paid 100.00 for both of them and they seem to be high quality.
  12. That is to cool!!! Keep us informed of everything.
  13. What I think is funny is how many differnt type of people like the Z's. I get comments all the time from people that I would never expect it from.

    OUCH!!!

That guy should be taken to court and charged with attempted man slaughter. Yes, the girl may have agreed to ride the bike but, I'm sure the guy never told her of the true possible dangers of what "they" were going to do. That is if he even told her to hold on and don't let go. What a jerk.
  15. As you can tell form subject line my 3rd gear synchro is gone or atleast on it's last leg. After about 6 months of the new mods the tranny started to make noises and I thought it was just old. I had it rebuilt last January and it wasn't really right the first time I had them redo it but, after the second time it was great. Seems like this only lasted about 6 months. It started going out and then after a few power shifts at the track it is almost toasted. I thought I might get lucky and the place would rebuild it for me again no cost. We all know that didn't happen. Anyway, what real options do I have for a tranny. I really want to stay manuel but, I don't think this T-5 is going to last for only about 6 or so months at a time. I can't have it rebuilt each time at a of cost 350.00 or so. Looking on the net I see that about 400' lbs of torque really tears these things up. Not sure if I'm that high on torque but, I couldn't be that far from it by comparing other setups with dyno runs and my track times and vehicle weight. Is there a good replacement or a way to modify the Nissan T-5 so that it will hold the power and take an occasional trip to the track? I've seen the G-Force stuff and that looks good but, I'm not breaking gears or anything. Has anyone rebuilt on of these by themselves? I have an extra T-5 that I could rebuild and still be able to get around. Is it really that hard. What about just replacing the 3rd gear synro in this one that is currently in the car.
  16. Thats what I figured and with the push on using the search function I don't blame you.
  17. Heres a picture of my setup. This picture was actually taken to show the catch can but, you can see the intercooler pipes also. My intercooler pipes are 2" since thats what came with the HKS kit. I think I would go with 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 if I were to do it again.
  18. Thats sweet gives me some hope for the future if it gets destoyed. I had no idea these things could get that high in value anymore without being orginal.
