  1. I Texas you must have wipers or the car cannot be inspected. I think the no windshield thing is true here also.
  2. No one said it was mandatory I don't believe but, it is a good idea. Especially with a motor that is being leaned on by it's owner. I personally ran 14 psi with used head bolts for about 3 years before I changed when I redid my motor. The things is that since he is going to have the head off it's a good time to chnage out if upgrades are wanted or needed. It's just my opinon and I and others feel like it's a good recomendation.
  3. Maybe a stupid question here but, How would you attach the stock injectors? Or could you even do it without further mods?
  4. This is a good point and one that should be done by anyone wanting an engine to last or if it's gonna be beat on like we all do to our cars. The Nissan gasket is not that much is it? Have you tried Courtesy Nissan? I live pretty close them. (20 min.)If they are asking crazy shipping charges I could pick it up and ship it to you via UPS or USPS.
  5. Best bet is to start getting the parts that you will want to replace when you change out the gasket. If you stay off the gas it should last you until you can get the parts and time to pull the head. I had mine decked and cleaned up for 100.00 maybe 150.00 in Arlington (just west of Dallas) about 2 years ago. I'm not surprised it runing funny. Looks like you got into some mild detionation and it got the best of you. Happens to the best of us. If you can upgrade to some ARP studs and use the Nissan gasket. This is a proven combination. If the block and head are flat you shouldn't have any more proublems unless you let it detionate. I know money is tight but, you'll be glad you did. The ARP studs are reusable so you might be able to find a set on Ebay or something.
  6. ya i have straight 3inch exhaust and its ficken load. what you listen for? if i hear any rattling i let off very fast.. still its hard to hear things for me' date=' bad ears and all.. mike[/quote'] You must consentrait "Danielson"
  7. The 245's with some good tires should really make a differnce. When I went from the 225/50/15 to the 245/40/17's with some AVS Sports it really helped the car. Still spins them in first and second when you hit the gas but, it's so much more controllable now. I was almost afraird of the car in certain cnditions before. I had to turn the Profec off when my wife drove the car. Now, not just 5 minuites ago I saw my wife smoke the tires leaving the apt. We have a steep hill you have to go up to get out onto the road and I think she got alittle carried away with the load pedal. She thought I'd be pissed. I thought it was cool. You don't get to see your own car smoke the tires very often.
  8. No dought it's making more power with that bump in compression. What psi are you running? I'm guessing it's the same as before also. Wonder what the actual differnce is.
  9. Geat deal but, I just want to know does it come with the fur brush? J/K
  10. Well I got hold of the guy I bought it from and he said he would let me return the part minus a 15% restocking fee. I would really like to find a way to use this my self or pass it along to another Z guy that could use it. Any ideas?
  11. Looks like one of my old flywheels. This just gives you a chance to upgrade
  12. That's one way to get out of mowing the lawn!
  13. I bought a new CV Axle off Ebay the other day. After I got it and went to install it I see that it is different than what I already have in the car. The splines are much smaller than the one I pulled out. Here the link as an FYI http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7922478050&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6 Part #39600-P9705 How can I verify the part #? I called Courtesy and they won't give me the #. Not sure why they want to protect the part #. Thanks [/url]
  14. All I'm getting right now is a rude banner from the host of the pic.

  16. Sell evetything on Ebay. As I look on there for stuff I'm amazed at the things I see people bidding on. If you have the time and space it could pay for the car after being parted out.
  17. Thats a good idea. I had also thought about polishing the bore to see if that would help it seal longer. I think the stainless sleeve sounds like a good idea. I guess as long as the sleeve doesn't get scratched you could just put in a rebuild kit every few years as maintinence.
  18. Thanks for the advise guys. Seems like everytime I pull them apart the inside is rusty and some times the piston is worn on one side more then the other. I guess I'll buy a Nissan one in a few months and see what that does. If I get a chance maybe I'll pull this one off and seal the boot with some RTV and see if that helps keep all the water out of it. Maybe that will help it last longer also.
  19. Off topic.... Check the T-Bird in the back ground. My friends mom had one. What a huge car!
  20. I wondered how long it would take for someone to comment. I've been holding back.
