Cal Poly started today. Taking a small but busy load. Fluid Mechanics II (w/ lab), Design II (w/ lab), and Heat Transfer. Also working 2 jobs about 25 hours a week.
Got a 76 280z. Missing gas tank, tranny, rear end, but has N42 engine/head and a complete car otherwise with a beautiful, no-rust anywhere body. Bummer is it's in Cali. Oh ya, right at your price of $1,000.
Ya, the J-Pipe looks great and the wrinkle will hold tons of grease and grime. But it's going on a brand newly rebuilt engine that doesn't get driven a lot. And I'm kind of a clean freak when it comes to my cars.
As for the oven being large enough, not yet but we will be making it into a pregnant oven to get larger parts.
Hey guys,
Alec and I have been practicing getting different types of Powder Coating with great results. Here's a pic we just did tonight of my J-Pipe. Its a Heavy Texture Matte Black and it looks like it was wrapped in velvet.

After
Here's some of other parts we've done.
Eastwood's High Gloss Black scratches very easily, we got a better semi gloss that looks better. (Pics later)
Alec's door handle, there will be pics soon from our body/paint job the past month.
My Alt Bracket
Are you looking to get it done and right back on a car thats running? Or is this something being done a while before the car gets on the road?
From my searching, there's mixed reviews on whether or not to use a sealant because they have come off before. I know many people use muriatic acid to clean it and put it back onto a running car and thats that.
If you mix Rustoleum and Acetone about 1:1, even more Acetone will help with less orange peel. Then add Japan Dry, you can get about 2 coats of paint in a day.
Like this! Crappy phone pic. Took almost half a can of some spider killer until it stopped moving for me to crush it. Then continued spraying as much of the car I could and another, smaller, one fell off the back! Another trip to the store tomorrow to spray the car again, then hose it all off!
I just went to take off the bumpers on the 280z and bent over turned my head into the wheel well and stared face to face with a big black spider with a red spot on its back! Went to get spray and now it's gone! Paranoia!
