  1. it could... the problem is that if they hit 88mph, they'd see some serious ****
  2. again, the cost of parts and labor will outweigh the amount of $ you save on gas. BY A LOT. If you want same handling, fuel economy, and some comfort for a daily driver, buy a used bmw 318ti. it's a hatchback, 2 doors, seats 4, has a 1.8 liter motor w/ 138hp, gets 32-35mpg on freeway, and it's rwd.

  4. why don't you pick up a 5 speed from a 280, swap it in (you may need a matching drive shaft), and tune your carbs. Total cost should be less than 250 bucks. My friend with a 260 has an L28 in it with n42 head, converted to FLAT TOP su carbs rebuilt by z-therapy (to pass smog when it was requried to) with all smog equipment attached, 5 speed and stock 3.36 gears. He was getting 25-26mpg on the freeway. Well tuned round top SU carbs have netted people high 20s in that setup.
  5. Just a clunk? Doesn't pull anywhere? My neon did that over bumps, turned out to be a toast balljoint.
  6. As long as the helmet is SNELL approved with date stamp of 5 years of newer, you're fine. ie. SNELL 2000 helmet would work just fine
  7. You mean like put in a heart and digestive tract from say... schwartzenegger into John DeLorean's corpse? man, and I thought I had a messed up head!
  8. use a regular motorcycle helmet and make sure it has lots of vents and drive with windows down (which is required anyways). AGV/HJC helmets are cheap and good quality for such use (i prefer higher brands for actual riding)
  9. all 3rd gen (93+ rx7s) were twin turbo, and they're not cheap to maintain. US smog crap screws with the engine reliability quite a bit
  10. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/deaths/3094167 you've brought many changes to automotive history, and made the DMC-12 which I vow to own one day.

  15. oh, haha, funny. you sound like z-dreamer
  16. Paul Newman raced a twin turbo v8 powered s130
  17. crazy280: I was referencing honda just as an example, I know they haven't made an OHV engine in eons. john: exactly the reason why the new mustang 4.6 has ohc design with 3 valves
  18. I had an AT&T guy call me offerring me service for AT&T long distance. I already have AT&T long distance. guy: hello sir, may I interest you in the AT&T long distance plan? blah blah me: what are you wearing? guy: excuse me? me: what are you wearing? *click*

  22. Oh man, I have such a good comeback, but it'd be way over the line, you'd cry and try to slap me like the soccer mom you are next time you saw me
  23. from a daily driver perspective... if both motors were developed, let's say... by honda, for daily driving use, not designed to be raced, exceed 5000rpm, etc... pushrod design would be more reliable.
  24. silicon valley boom ended, high paying careers dropped, housing cost keeps going up. Loan offices right now do 0% down interest only loan just so people can buy houses here. Not a good idea Long story short: if you want to own a house here you either get loan sharked or you have to live practically free to save up all your money. Most wind up buying houses 60-100 miles from their work places out in the boonies like modesto, stockton, tracy, etc. Then they endure spending 3 hours in traffic a day, but the housing is much cheaper. Now all the "boonie" towns are becoming developed and less problematic Downside is that the housing there also goes up in price. Good investment though' wheelman: sorry, but computer geek jobs are out...there's too many of us and not enough positions. I'm actually thinking of going to school for something else, like metal/welding/machine fab, etc.
