  1. that's not necessarily bad - maybe now we won't have as much of an influx of tards to the forums
  2. Awesome! If he can weld stainless steel and has a tig, I'm all for it
  3. I just had a field day today with probably the most arrogant ******* I've had the displeasure of working with. The guy who's supposed to be welding (not for free, he's being paid) was looking at my Z to do the manifold welding. He's a fabricator (or claims to be), and he did in fact point out flaws in my design and build of the rotary mounts as they will somewhat interfere with the motor. He made valid points about relocating the motor, designing a better crossbrace, etc., half of which I already knew. However, the MANNER in which he presented this information was completely astounding. He treated me as if I was a 10 year old unfamiliar with any concept and imagination, wouldn't let me state a single point, with extreme sarcasm that even I didn't have a responce to. And this guy is looking to be PAID for work he's [was] going to be doing! The best [worst] part would've been the fact that I actually asked him politely to discuss it without sarcasm and facetiousness, to which I received a reply of "No can do! It's who I am!" He went as far as to start explaining to me how a rotary engine works, because apparently I don't know how the engine that's sitting in my engine bay functions! I was so fumed, I was debating whether to interrupt him and pull a classic 'aux' and simply say "Sorry, I'm walking away as I'm not interested in talking to you anymore", or to sock him in the face with a steel pipe. Instead I opted to let him finish, let his inferiority complex get out completely in front of several others. This guy was clearly compensating for low self esteem, set out to belittle others to make himself look better. Instead, he managed to piss off a few people in the process and make himself look like an idiot. Still fuming
  4. Yeah... I don't think we have enough posts about the full throttle show listed for today. according to historychannel.com, it's at 11pm est and pst http://www.historychannel.com/
  5. http://www.craigslist.org/eby/car/48018536.html that's like monster garage meets pimp my ride!

    ford 3.8

I don't think Light and Powerful are words to describe a 3.8L v6 from ford that's been prone to blowing headgaskets (LTD what?). Cast iron block with iron head making 140hp. Not sure about differences with a supercharger, but you'd be able to get better results from an ls1 which would weigh just as much if not less, and produce more power/torque in naturally aspirated form.
  7. Wow, been a while since we did a Pizza and Pipes meet. I actually had my car at the last one. I don't know if I'll be able to go - I'm feeling kinda under the weather (flu) at the moment. I'll try to make it down tehre, but again, Z-less.
  8. Guys, just keep in mind that if you ask a stupid ASCII, you're gonna get a stupid ANSI
  9. There's a valid reason why most cars have drum pads for ebrake in a rear disk setup.... If you come to a stop to park the car after a hot braking session, you don't want to weld your pads to your brakes. So, those of you running 240sx rear calipers with ebrakes, after you do a track session, don't throw the ebrake
  10. you guys better start © that stuff
  11. I love the sound of a properly tuned straight 6. My Z sounded pretty good at idle with a 2.25" exhaust and a single muffler.
  12. Do the L28 and I'll buy the clip off you!
  13. when the wankel is running i'll have to record it. you'll hear the nastiest (and i don't mean good) Z in the world, i guarantee you
  14. Fuel cell with walbro 255lph inline pump, 8AN to earl filter to pump, 8an braided line all the way to the y block up front. 1/2" to 3/8" Y block, converted to 6AN. 6 an lines run to parallel fuel rails, with 550cc primary and 1680cc secondary injectors Both lines (one not included in the picture) run to aeromotive a1000-6 fuel pressure regulator. Still have to do return line

My last minute halloween costume with 30 min of short notice. worse: getting this guy to wear it. the party was the bomb though, I had a blast

  17. such as this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=7931039047&rd=1 they all seem to be generically made, although the 0.2 psi drop at 15 sounds like bs to me. Either way, is it worth it to buy this or similar items? I don't have the funds to do 800 dollar intercoolers. I'd love to do James Thagard's IC, but I can't afford it
  18. Bought an engine with wiring harness and ECU as a stand alone. Transmission came from a bunk motor I picked up dirt cheap prior to this one. Looks like it was rebuilt before, because it has non-factory seals. We replaced the oil pump chain, cleaned it, it's got compression. Haven't fired it up yet, but that'll be done shortly

  20. mazda tranny is offset to passenger side, and so is the stock datsun drivetrain. Double shift, so to speak. I probably screwed up somewhere, but it seems to line up. Maybe much later in the future I'll redo the motor mounts. progress? Car's at a friend's shop, and exhaust manifold is getting welded this weekend, hopefully. Just working on doing the fuel system, lines, wiring, etc. All the little stuff like AN lines and fittings really add up. To the tune of 500-600 bucks at least!
  21. yeah, i think you have to use the timeline of internet for reference, and the repost mounting kit to do it.
