  1. there's an old great game, from 97, called fallout now that was a fantastic game. Along with 1992's Star Control 2. excellent storyline and imagination
  2. In 1986, Dan Harrison was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Northwestern University. On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Dan approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee and inspected the elephant's foot and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully and as gently as he could, Dan worked the wood out with his hunting knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot. The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Dan stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away. Dan never forgot that elephant or the events of that day. Twenty years later, Dan was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Dan and his son Dan Jr. were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Dan, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man. Remembering the encounter in 1986, Dan couldn't help wondering if this was the same elephant. Dan summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Dan's legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly . Probably wasn't the same elephant.
  3. ha-ha, thanks for the plug it's still in the car, and serves its purpose quite well!
  4. i dunno, you can find a complete ls1 combo with a t56 for about 3000-4000, if not less.... and not a whole lot more is required. One can probably do an ls1 conversion in 7k. rotary's more than that, trust me
  5. it's beena very long time since I've posted something excessively weird http://www.boingboing.net/2007/09/25/furries-vs-klingons.html
  6. no, i never understood hte concept of having to be THE FIRST to get a game, operating system, or see a movie The only logical conclusion I've come up with is that the person camping out at midnight can be the first one to rush home and post on the internet about their experience. And then take a day off work/school to play the game. I mean, what's the point? The game won't change. And people on other forums are already posting about beating the game. 10 hours for single player isn't exactly awe-inspiring (I know it's designed for multiplayer) my friend's brother camped out for Lord of the Rings. Why? I just waited 4 days, saw it in the theater on a Wed. night, where I didn't have to wait in line or fight for seats
  7. Nah, go for it if you got the funds... just keep in mind that rotaries aren't tolerant to detonation, and rich mixture = safety. You can get a used jdm series 5 turbo 2 motor that makes 200hp stock for about 1300 bucks with wiring harness, turbo2 tranny, and stock turbo. replace secondary 550cc injectors with 720cc or 850cc units so you can up the boost a bit, with open exhaust and a piggy back safc or equivalent engine management you could probably tune it to 250hp. Replace stock turbo with something bigger (like a t04b/e which can be had cheap), exhaust manifold, and a waste gate, prices start adding up. Front mount intercooler, blow off valve, piping, etc... little things add up quick. My 13b-re motor was 1500, engine management - 1000 (microtech), clutch = 350, flywheel = 220, turbo = 700 (t04s), tial44mm waste gate =400, probably another 500+ on AN fittings and lines.... and that's just starting to count it.
  8. steering rack's in the wrong place, parts are very expensive works well for 510 guys because the steering rack, like in the FB rx7, is recirculating ball and behind the crossmember, not in front. Much easier to adapt. Of course, knowing what I know now, I would've made a few things different, but if cost is no object to you, by all means go ahead!
  9. If whoever got teh MSA triangulated brace passes on it, I'd love to take it
  10. haha, no problem. Well, it made it from the shop to rob's house, remember? That's where it lives now
  11. My friends were visiting from san diego when my Z still ran. My friend Liz nicknamed it Zoey, because she saw it fitting. It never really stuck for me, nor did it grow. I just call it Z, but I did get new plates for it: If you get the reference, huge bonus points to you. And no, it's not a reference to World of Warcraft.
  12. well, the only thing left to do is to get the throttle assembly (pedal/cable/etc) fabricated (there's a leverage issue between wide open on the TB and the amount of cable the pedal would pull, mismatching). Once that's done, the engine comes out, need to fab a new battery box, paint it, and then assemble/fire it up and get it tuned ona dyno Also need to rebuilt the rear diff. I have the 3.7 clsd, and the clutches are worn (at least from the symptoms), so I need to get that fixed.
  13. Finally got a bath after at least 2 years Some people asked about shifter position
  14. excerpt from today's convo: me: what, a 69 camaro ss? her : "oh god, 69 camaro ss... my fave car... i like the bodylines better than 67" yeah, you try and make fun of me now!
  15. it only happens at a specific speed, and not in specific gear at certain rpm, right?
  16. If you caught the family guy star wars special last night.... oh man, I was dying. I thought they were losing their touch, but no, they have gone and redeemed themselves!
  17. interested in the triangulated msa bar... but I'm not seeing the plate to mount it to the firewall? Just a picture angle? Also, how much would you want for it?
  18. No, I'm pretty sure you're wrong since she and her partner live together and have a dog.
  19. New girl started at work, i thought we clicked, great personality, laughs at my jokes, playful/flirty, etc.... went out to lunch today and then i learned she bats for the other team. the kicker? her gf is hot too
  20. irvington arms, fremont. they have them in stock, or can order them for you magazine is detachable, they have additional 10 round mags as well. Big 5 has mosin 91/30 rifles right now for $74 What's the point of putting an AK stock on it with a monsterman grip, when that will make it uncomfortable and it'll be same as a saiga stock?
