  1. ah, nm, i was thinking of something else. but dragunov's illegal for the same reason: illegal stock w/ pistol grip
  2. dragunov has an illegal stock and is listed as an ak47 variant. saiga's internals are NOT identical to the ak47, and it has no pistol grip I bought it froma guy on calguns, and did the xfer at irvington arms. In fact, I was there yesterday and they have a couple of saigas like this for $350/each. Martin, the owner of the Irvington Arms, supports and knows the laws, and these are legal, because they couldn't be proven to be illegal
  3. Saiga 7.62x39, 16" barrel . Cali legal
  4. yep, already did that. I'm just going with running pre-mix
  5. you could theoretically use the stock ECU, but the stock ECU for the 13b-re is mapped for automatic transmission only. Advantage of stand alone is you can do away with the rat's nest of vaccuum lines and senders that aren't needed for a swap. Of course, you can use a stock 13b ecu with 13b s4 or s5 motors. Mine's not as much of a common rotary as others, despite sharing a lot of things
  6. i'm using a front mount points from a 12a/13b from 1st gen rx7. standard 13b/20b mounts are on the sides at the rear of the block. You could theoretically mount a 20b to end at the strut tower level, however, this would shove the shifter about 7-8" further back, and it'd be a paint in the butt to shift. 20b is about 1/3 longer than the 13b. It's an extra rotor housing and extra side housing, about 7-8 inches, or 177-203mm
  7. you don't owe him ♥♥♥♥. You're not responsible for his actions. There was no impact, make sure to notify your insurance of what happened, and your insurance will tell him to piss off. Also, no proof that his rim was scratched right there. He could've curbed it earlier, and used you as a convenient excuse
  8. when someone asks "will 17" wheels fit on my Z?"... will you actually provide the answer that's been covered dozens of times, or get irritated? The biggest issue is that people come here, some get UPSET because they don't get replies fast enough, and usually their questions have already been answered. it's just irritatin when someone puts 0 effort into finding the solution that's already there.
  9. whoa, you got an re5! and it's a working rotary! neat
  10. old bike: sold it almost 2 years ago
  11. because the stock spring perch is not perfectly flat, resulting in uneven seating area for the coilover sleeve. This piece is ground off, and an even ring is welded on in its place, providing equal pressure area on the strut housing. and also removes about .75 lb of unsprung weight off each corner.
  12. TTT kit is exactly the same as ross's and ground control, in manner of welding/cutting. To the original poster: you can install the kit without sectioning the strut housings, if you're not planning on lowering your car more than 2". I'm running that setup with regular (non shortened) housings, and still maintain nice ride height and quality. Don't forget to trim your bump stops on hte struts, because they take about 1.25"-1.5" out of the travel and that's with undersized tires (225/50/15)
  13. just to clarify, john coffey's not being discouraging, he's just laying out the reality of the upgrade. Think of it as reading haynes manual vs. a factory service manual
  14. that's my Z. as capt furious said, it's a 280z airdam. the lights are motorcycle turn signals from lockhart philips, bought for $20 for the pair.
  15. damn dood. i envy your ability to have a place to do this all in. good job so far
  16. To paint urethane, or any flexible bits you need urethane impregnated paint. Color factory in fremont has the for 8 bucks a piece, it's semi/low gloss black, what I used on my Z. I think I may still have half a can of the stuff in the garage
  17. sounds like maybe they need to get rebalanced? maybe a wheel weight came off somewhere?
  18. incredibly good and fast service, top notch products I bought the TC rods show above in red
  19. if you got a court date, get a lawyer. It may sound expensive, but trust me, it'll save you a lot more in insurance costs in the long run. You may not get off completely, but it'll be a lot cheaper and it's better to have speeding on your record for 3 years than a misdemeanor offense for reckless driving for 7 years
  20. were you shooting with your bayonet folded or extended? judging by your grouping, I'd say it was folded, since you're hitting left. Rifle was sighted in to be used with bayonet extended (barrel harmonics), so try shooting with it extended hope you liked the 2 foot fireballs! at a 100 yards first time with the mosin? that's actually pretty good. Don't forget the rifles are designed to be used 300-600 yards (trench warfare) that's why you're hitting a little high at 0 setting on the rear sights.
  21. really? dude, can I buy some stripper clips from you when you're done? Say, about 10? Let me know what you want for them. No rush
