Since then I've swapped to a turbo motor. I'm sorry but I have no idea what version of megatune that map is good for.

Wow Redhot, that's an old post. Make sure you're logged in as a member of Yahoo and navigate to the following directory, it's in the "files" section of the Megasquirt user group in Yahoo. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/megasquirt/files/Megatune%20settings/ Good luck with your project.

15" Konig Rewinds with 225/50/15's Mounted - Pics

Thanks for the nice complements. My father bought this car new in 1977 and drove it for 12 years. I grew up riding around in it. He parked it in 1989 and never got it out of grandma's garage until he gave it to me in 2000. I've slowly been turning it into a hybrid (with the help of this site). It's good to finally have the time to concentrate on how it looks instead of working on the mechanicals all the time. 280bob, I have the S12+8 calipers with no spacer, just bolted them on. Maybe you have the larger S12+W calipers? Wow, there are some great looking cars on this forum. -
Just got them mounted today. I thought you guys might want to see some pics. I replaced my stock slotted wheels with these. I really like them. Next, I want to go with a front spoiler and some 240 bumpers front and rear, and that's it with the cosmetics. No rubbing and I have the S12+8 toyota brakes up front and tokico springs.

Tutorial: The best value detonation detectors on the planet.

Awesome DIY post.... Can you please describe the sounds that you hear. Or, will "you know it when you hear it?" -
I had the same problem as you. I tried every TPSdot combo for over a year. I switched it over to MAPdot and everything is good now.

Hey Mike, About a year ago, I helped a friend turbo his s2000. I don't remember the name of the kit, but I can find out if you want. I drove the car hard before and after, it is an awesome drivetrain either way. He was and still is running it at 6psi. He drives it hard every day. It uses a T3/T04E hybrid turbo. Go for it!

I'm just reinforcing Tony's statement of no step. My local machine shop put a step in mine as per some incorrect reference. R&Ring the tranny and flywheel twice in three days is no fun. If they put a step, your clutch will likely not disengage.

Turbo on the N/A motor Up and Running *pics*
sims76 replied to nienberg.11's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Well done, nice work. Enjoy. -
Thanks guys. I haven't taken more than 5 consecutive days off of work myself since I graduated from college over six years ago, and I only did that once. I'll be taking 13 in a row starting Thursday (but I still have more for the year). I know this is more than many people get and I'll enjoy it. Take care, Sims

evildky, One thing that I used to help self-justify the purchase of a decent intercooler was that they tend to hold their value as long as they look good. If you really need the money back some day, rip it out, clean it up, and sell the sucker.

Thanks for the responses guys, I read every one carefully and thought about them all. I think I'll also run this thread by her to give her some more encouragement and discuss some options that you mentioned that occurr to us. We have decided that it is best that she looks for another job right now. We think she should move on if possible without burning any bridges, because you just never know. When you take away this vacation issue, there is just a general lack of positive things to look forward to when she goes to this job every day. She has gotten a call already because she works in a very networked business and some people (and employers) that she used to work with/for are happy to give her good reccomendations and keep their ears open on her behalf. By the way, she works for a interior design firm outside of Philadelphia as an interior designer. The spaces they create are impressive, including the ones done by her firm. For lack of a better description, some of the most successful people in the business (including her bosses) can be the most egotistical. It makes for a good product if you're the customer, but not always a good working atmosphere as the employee. Thanks guys, we'll enjoy the honeymoon (leaving Monday for Hawaii) and our time in the Keys.

I went with the 18x6 unit. No performance problems to speak of and it fits well in front of the radiator. I will hook up two thermocouples and pressure gauges one of these days and give some real measurements for temperature and pressure drop.

I'm getting married in two weeks.... My future wife works at a four person company. There are two owners, her, and another employee. They allow 2 weeks paid vacation per year. We are going to Hawaii on the honeymoon immediately after the wedding and she will take her full two weeks vacation then. Their "year" for vacation time just started last month, so she has the full two weeks right now, they don't go by calendar year. The problem is that her best friend is also getting married in January and she is the maid of honor so we will be taking two days off in January to travel to Key West to participate in the wedding. The owners basically told her today that she should not plan on going and that this would likely lead to her termination if she missed this work (even if she took unpaid vacation.) We both feel that these are once in a lifetime events that are very important. Therefore, we have every intention of going to Key West as planned. How would you approach this? Be humble and ask them to understand? Quit? Pretend like your not going then go anyway? Keep calling in sick until they actually just fire you? Extra Info: We can to afford to not have her work for an extended period. She would much rather work than be unemployed and is not a quitter. For the past 18 months since she started, they have been telling her that they need some time to see how the situation is "working out." This is a professional firm, and her work and attitude is very good. The attitude of the owners is generally very condescending.

Full boost here at 3000RPM with my T03/T04E and spearco IC. I also use 2.25" pipe turbo to IC and 2.5" pipe IC to TB.

Kracker, I have spent so many hours in the past going through what you are right now that I've lost count. If it at least kicks or sputters then that is a great starting point. Leave the cap and rotor alone for now because you have to be close. It's when nothing happens that the troubleshoot gets more difficult. Adjust the trigger angle from 0 through 120 (or whatever the max is) in increments of 20 and see if it runs any better. Next, advance all of your spark plug wires one position clockwise on the distributor cap and run through the range of trigger angles again. If that doesn't help, try moving the spark plug wires one position counter clockwise from where you started and run through the range of trigger angles again. This will at least solve a rotor phasing issue. I don't know about the turbo dizzy, but the NA dizzy with the variable reluctance pickup will not turn LED on in the MS board because it's a quick pulse and not a constant signal like you would get from a hall sensor. Good luck.

Sounds great but makes me wondor if I have leaky intake piping. My Z has some serious compressed air sounds coming from under the hood when I get on it. Nice vid.
-
Just an FYI, I took the same approach as 240ZHoke and re-tapped my block using an NPT tap. I am also using a -3 AN steel braided line for the oil feed. I bought the turbo and line from James T. He suggested that the -3 feed was more prudent than the -4 for similar reasons that Tony D stated. No problems after 9 months and thousands of miles of aggressive driving with this setup.

Just to throw in my experience with programmable EFI and distributors. Even with a dual pickup unit, you probably only need the signal from one of the pickups with a programmable EFI unless something is very unique in there. I went through this when setting up megasquirt. If you have a way of checking to see that Microtech is getting a stable RPM signal then that's not your problem.

When I upgraded my MSnS code to the newer version with the 12x12 tables (the previous version had 8x8) I found a webpage on the net that interpolated my 8x8 table to the newer 12x12. But I can't find the link again! If anyone finds this link, post it up, it is a big help. I didn't have to re-tune using this method.

I'm running 2.25 before the IC and 2.5 after the IC. I don't have a technical reason for going 2.5, I just did with the mentality that bigger (within reason) is better. I bought the piping and couplers from http://www.roadraceengineering.com/
