  1. I also ordered one, thanks for the heads up.
  2. Excellent results man, good job. Let us know how you do in the 1/4.
  3. If you get too frustrated, just switch it over to MAPdot and forget the TPS. I don't even use a TPS anymore.
  4. Pat yourself on the back Prox, awesome job. Please describe the performance difference. Please please.....
  5. 108MPH in the 1/4 is about 290 horses for me and no problems with the stock 280z halfshafts.
  6. Surface looks great. Excellent DIY job. Post more pics when you're done.
  7. http://www.bidnip.com It's free and works well.
  8. Thanks for the input guys. I will sanity check my fuel numbers and update my off boost timing, but the wideband always reads reasonable values. Maybe my fuel pressure is way lower than some of you. It's about 38psi with the motor not running, I'll check that out. Here's the video: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v208/sims54/Track%20Times/?action=view&current=Cap0003.flv It's kinda long because I didn't edit it. And no, I don't have anything to do with the Passat that is doing the burnout, however I do daily drive a similar Passat.
  9. Thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it. The wife told me to buy some drag radials and get me some 12's next time. I wouldn't feel bad about upping to 18psi or so with some of the race fuel they sell at the track. Maybe I'll do just that in a few months. Here's my MS settings as of today.....Note that I run 14psi or about 200kpa at full throttle. I get the full 14psi above 3000RPM.
  10. Results: 13.32 seconds at 108.04MPH. Norm was closest, thank guys, see the thread at: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=110155 See
  11. I'm very happy overall to say the least. Megasquirt N Spark performed flawlessly and the car pulled hard all the way to 6000+ RPMs. I'll have the video up in a few days. Here's the details. I think with a better launch & 60' time I can get into the 12's without chaning anything else. What do you guys think? 1976 280z 2+2 Ambient: about 70 degrees F boost: 14lbs on a Thagard Garrett T3/T04E 56trim (either 54 or 56 trim, I can't remember) tire pressure: 33lbs on 225/15/50 Kumho street tires weight: 2970lbs with me in it, I weigh about 190 so the car weighs about 2780lbs. 1/2 tank of gas AFR: I don't know because I was staring at the tach but the wideband ususally reads 10.5 to 12 under full boost depending on conditions (still working on this) Head: stock P90a with solid lifters Bottom: stock turbo block & oil pump Head Gasket: Felpro, with ARP studs torqued to ARP spec Rear: 3.54 Tranny: 5 speed from an unknown year R/T: .367 60': 2.234 330: 5.830 1/8: 8.733 MPH: 85.7 1000: 11.225 1/4: 13.320 MPH: 108.04
  12. The only doubt I have is that the reaction time of the sensor isn't that great and when I read 99 degrees under 14psi for 10 seconds or so I'm not convinced that the temperature didn't actually spike to much higher...... Any thoughts on this? I'm using an air temperature sensor from a KIA.
  13. I forgot to mention that. It's still sitting on the intake of the turbo. But, since I have solid evidence that the IC is cooling well, I'm not sure I'm in a rush to move it in front of the radiator.
  14. Hey guys, just a follow up almost a year and a half later to this old post. Now that I'm intercooled, my intake air temp stays below 100 degrees F even under full boost at 14psi. Good stuff.
  15. Hmmm... The only difference that I see is that I didn't use the "Professional" Rustoleum, I used the "Stops Rust" type. Is there anything else you did besides roll it on?
  16. Hey cygnus, the Supra 440cc injectors can be had for about half the price (used) of those Ford ones. Just passing along my experience in case cost is a concern. I use them on my car and I can verify that they fit the manifold.
  17. Hey olderthanme, how scratch resistant is your job? I did my cowl using the same paint and roller method but It is still soft after a month an I am able to scratch it easily with my fingernail.... p.s. I thinned it with Acetone.
  18. Thanks for the speculation guys, I have limited track experience and I don't consider myself to be a good driver at the strip. Maybe someday. I will be happy with a respectable MPH, I'll let you know how it turns out. -Sims
  19. Just in case anyone else on this board will be there I thought I'd give you a heads up. Any thoughts/guesses on ET and MPH for the 1/4? Before I did the turbo swap I weighed 3030lbs with me in it and ran a 16.3 @ 88MPH. I know I'll be faster than that but I don't know by how much. Here's a dyno pull from last year before I tuned it. This was at 11PSI creeping to 14, but now I run 14lbs with no creep. Also, it was < 10.0 AFR pig rich at the time.
  20. I'd be willing to bet money that you won't. I have never tried crack, but I suspect boost might be more addicting. Hahaha, enjoy your ride. I love fast beaters.
  21. Brad, I think you're on a very practical track. I currently use a "Omnipolar Hall-Effect Digital Switch" from http://www.allegromicro.com I ordered a second batch of samples last week. I just pot them in JB weld on a piece of alumimum and they are good to go. What are you going to use for the ignitors?
  22. Brad, When you made this post, I had to do some digging and figure it out....I think I got it. Notice how the SDS crank sensor in the upper right hand corner has two pickups? It appears that you can configure megasquirt to take the RPM input from one pickup and then just put a single post somewhere else to take care of the indexing. The bad news is that it looks like it requires some additional hardware on the MS end (duplicate tach conditioning circuit). The following is from the MSnS extra website. http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/select.html#edis Nippondenso dual wheel / 2nd trigger Click here for more Many Mazda and Toyota engines utilise Nippondenso ignition which uses a dual wheel crank angle sensor (CAS) which has one 24 tooth wheel and a 2 or single tooth second wheel. This option can also be used inventively to give 4 cyl COP or could be used with the dual pickup crank trigger from SDS for 4cyl wasted spark.
  23. By the way, check this site out for some more wheel options.... http://www.trigger-wheels.com/
  24. I'm watching this post closely as I would like to convert from my magnet/hall setup to the toothed wheel as well. I don't have motivation other than just the exercise of doing it. Let us know how yours turns out.
  25. I put mine up on the firewall where I can get at it easily.
