  1. the line running to my 220v receptable is 6-3 wire.. i'm gonna get a extension cord made of 8-3 wire i think. Should be coming tomorrow, so i'll post how it works (only with flux wire, haven't got a bottle yet) I'm gonna have to go on a scrap steel run so i can have stuff to practice on.
  2. got this old helmet for 25 cents at a garage sale, and just painted it up alittle..lol, i was bored between watchin the playoffs. Until i get a nice helmet this will have to do.
  3. with some nice wheels thats gonna look sharp....i bet ur gettin excited about gettin it on the road.
  4. you wanna drive up to bellingham and let me drive ur car? ^ lol
  5. transplant roof i wanna know whats under the hood to need that pelicun sized cowl..lol
  6. don't get it confused, i used paint LOL! notice how the tree's have the same cut paste texture.
  7. i told you it was backwards...lol...i should be a car designer..
  8. license plate = hotrod1 if u squint ur eyes, the cars looks backwards...lol...rear mounted engine with all those sick air scoops...
  9. r180's are rectangular looking from the back, the r200 is more rounded like a stop sign. check these http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/6212/diffswap/diffswap.htm http://www.geocities.com/madmanadam/Z-car/r200swap.html
  10. Just think about it, ur having such a hard time finding a vg motor, you should get a v8. The parts and engines come a dime a dozen. Just food for thought. I know u said ur dad didn't want a v8 in there, but it just makes sense. More power, reliable, parts, etc...
  11. mine is 230ft.lbs and was like $20, it's a husky brand air tool, seems to get any job done well. I think any electric one above 240 would do good.
  12. I do have one question for people that own a mm175, what liner does it come with, like what size wire can I use with the liner it comes with? .024"-.035" right? I got some flux wire with it because i need to weld my trailer that can't fit in the garage.
  13. Just bought a new MM175! I got it for $715 to my door. I was gonna go local, but the cheapest i found was $837 (thats with tax included). So it was worth getting it online and getting the consumables and gas for the same price. It's gonna cost $30 to fill a 80cuf cylinder, not bad. I can't wait to try it out.
  14. i remember somthing about the 78 wiring being different than the previous 280's. But here's the general diagram with color codes so you can trace the one's to cut out, if this is what u were looking for.
  15. what self employed work do u do Phil? I'm in a Landscape/excavation course and half the course I can take at home online so i always get time to visit here. I basically have a routine, i log on, check the local classifieds for Z's or engines, then come here, then get some music to listen to.... Once i get a Z, it's all over..lol, the garage is my home, i've been stocking up on tools lately, and planning every part of the build.
  16. don't mean to hijack the thread, but this is somthin i found cool, It's gotta take along time with photoshop, but it looks cool. Snoop dogg pic -then you draw him using plain black,i used a combination of the paint brush & the lasso tool to remove and create corners: (not as straightforward as that, its the hardest part) 3-then use the colour grey to draw the shadows (on a different layer) and feather it then set the layer to 'multiply' (this will make the gray burn the colour below): 4-then paint the body (all on seperate layers) then paint the face a plain skin tone on a seperate layer, reason for this is your gonna be messing around with it a lot after: then using a combination of the burn tool & the dodge tool create the shadows ect, this isnt easy and has to be correct or it will all ♥♥♥♥ up,look at the shadows on the origional of course for reference: And you got your final pic:
  17. Can the people you bought the paint from mix a color from a color code, or is it just what they have available? Because I want a one stage, and that stuff looks great
  18. thanks, but you gotta add up some things and that one will end up being $450 to ur door, because it doesn't come with a regulator or hose, plus shipping is $50. I think i found the one i'm gonna get. It's a Hobart 180 on ebay for $469 +$30 shipping. My local store is a big miller/hobart place so i think they'll help me more if i have a hobart, lol.
  19. that would be cool to have that setup.
  20. I just got outbid on a hobart 187. You can buy them new at cyberweld for $630 to ur door (free shipping). A mm175 new from the store here would be $840 out the door. So i think I'm gonna get a hobart 180/187, full gas cylinder, helmet and gloves, and wire for even cheaper.
  21. I was gonna say maybe the electrode broke off somehow and caused all those dimples, but very very doubtful. I guess you burned up whatever caused it.
  22. I was just doing some searching and I found that funny ^...lol...no disrespect.
  23. what did the spark plug look like on that cylinder? can u post a pic?
