Diesel is $4.19 here. Premium unleaded is about 3.70. So I really hope diesel lowers back down or else the efficiency of diesel wont matter, u'll still have to pay alot.

Get a Dodge cummins! the 3rd gens 03+ are comfortable and alot quieter for a family truck. Of course I love my 2nd gen 12v with a 4" straight pipe, and the cummins rattling loud as can be, but thats just me . Big reliable power is available easily, and u'll fall in love with Turbo diesels once u get one and hear the 35psi whistle and all the torque unwrap under ur foot. If u want a peppy truck get any of the gasser's, but theres a definent love once u get a diesel with some power. i average 19mpg in my dually around town, and it tows a 9k lbs bobcat/trailer like clockwork getting around 14mpg. Just do a search on youtube for Dodge cummins, and u'll see some good things.

I love my truck since it gets 19mpg consitently, but diesel was 3.99 my last fill up, so either way u go u get screwed. Only if I could tow my excavator with a bicycle..... They have America bent over real good right now, lol.

When I had my R1, that was my alltime favorite road. I went out of my way to take that road home. And u'll know how out of the way it was, went to school at Bellingham High, lived in Sudden Valley, and took that road home, lol...

my neighbors little dog got attacked by a small coyote, and it only survived because they heard it and scared it away. We had to drive the dog in to the vet with one of its eyes sticking out... but still no reason to just kill em all. Get a couple bigger dogs that would eat a coyote for dinner if it approached. I just saw a bobcat or minx or whatever they are acouple days ago driving up to Mt baker, it was like the size of a big german shepard. Big Cats would prolly be more trouble than a small coyote for small pets. But Cougars and bears are sweet, hopefully they dont go extinct anytime soon.

angle grinder (with cut-off wheel), and my welder. What other tools are there? I guess since i'm limited in my tool supply, those get used ALOT. I'll even make a wrench by cutting some steel with the cutoff wheel and welding it into the shape i need. lol jk, but I have modified a socket onto a open end wrech in order to fit a bolt in a tricky spot, lol.

im just starting my own ladnscape/excavating business, and the one good thing is that theres tons of deductables I can have on each job.

Another vote for a Cummins Dodge. There not so big once u get driving one everyday. I drive a 3500 dually and I whip it around like a sports car somtimes, lol. I average 19mpg city with all my mods, and best was 21 before I started adding power (my chevy 350 got 12mpg empty, and had no power to tow). Haven't done highway since I do all my driving in or around the city. Power is amazing, and I have the smallest pumped 12v. I have the 160 pump so If we can talk you into a cummins get a 215 pump 12v (1996-1998 5spd) since they get alot more powerful with free mods. I figure i'm making 260hp and 660tq or so on free mods, and haven't even upgraded injectors, turbo or any major pump mods. And plus with a rebuild rate of 500k miles, there built to last. And theres plenty out there with a million miles and going strong. Or you could get a smaller truck or older vehicle and swap in a 4bt cummins, that would be cool.

Phil, ur car is really lookin good these days. To me it looks so much better without the 2 extra lights u had. And the wheels and flares made a huge difference...

I know it would take some time and effort, but I think when someone registers for the site, a page should pop up with all the faq's about each section. interested in doing a v8 swap? buy the JTR manual here. and so on. I was told to search at first, but it wasn't like people attacked me about it, they just said the site has a ton of info that will help. And after a search I had no problem coming back and asking questions about things I found. So as long as people go about it like that and encourage u to search instead of attacking u to do it, it's all good. I think this stuff happens on every forum. I joined a forum for my Dodge cummins and they have it setup so it's g-rated, no swearing or attacking others etc... and it works really well because the internet seems to bring out the inner beast in people, especially the comments on youtube, lol. I got a infraction for saying i'd rather be cummin than strokin (alittle diesel joke), but hey it keeps things down to business and people helpful. Thats why i'm gonna put a cat diesel in a Z so we'll have somthing new and confusing to talk about, lol

I built a aerostar .40 with my dad when I was young. I only flew it once for some reasone, but took off and landed safely and it was alot of fun. I had it in the garage here since and was wanting to get it out again to fly it but my sister had a party and somebody knocked it off the shelf pretty much cracking everything along with the carb on the engine. I wanted to use all the servo's and stuff and build a little rock crawler thing, lol.

Bigger is definently better, 80 gallon + with like 18+cfm would be my reccomendation

thats gonna be a smooth running swap. Even in stock form thats gonna be a fun engine to have in ur Z. I wish the audi S4 was RWD, because that twin turbo in those sounds so sweet.

Pushing welds seems to produce better welds for me to. U can get a great weld either way, for me it's mainly preperation in getting the metal clean to get a good spatter free solid weld. Before I got my welder, my neighbor welded a mechanical thumb for my excavator and when he was welding it onto the boom, a little fire started about 10 feet away from him welding, lol... And it didn't start for a couple minutes after he finished welding, so that means the ember was just burning for awhile, so its smart to keep a clean area to weld in.

u can get a new MM175 for $700. I got one with a cart for $715. It's a pleasure welding with it, u can get the heat and speed dialed in perfect for whatever u want really. U shouldn't even consider getting just a flux welder, mig is the way to go for hobby work. I think any of the smaller machines (mm135, 140, lincoln 140's etc) will all be great for stuff other than heavy duty/stress/load material. U can get manufacture blemish models for cheap if u look around. Steer clear of the no name welders though, it's nice to be able to just goto the welding store and them having all ur parts in stock in case u need them.
