  1. I'm going with an AIM MXL Strada $1099:
  2. How long can I store the WVO before using it? 3 months, 6 months, 12 months? Regards, Justin
  3. 280zForce, What kinda filler cap is that? Justin
  4. Thanks for the suggestions Hugh. I need to think more about fuel sloshing back against the filler cap.... Maybe I could do a trap door to keep fuel out of the filler neck. I'll go to the chevron with my calipers tonight. That ought to be funny Justin
  5. Well, I've always wanted to install the fuel filler behind the license plate in my Z. Ive been working on a design for the fuel cell I'll weld up to make it work. Let me know what you think. Regards, Justin
  6. There no need to use a huge volume lift pump since it it operating at low pressure. You are likely to have a total of maybe 5psi head pressure at the lift pump outlet. You can get a lot of flow out of a small pump at such low head pressure. I'm going to be doing a lift pump in the stock location with stock fuel tank to a surge tank. The surge tank will feed my mechanical fuel pump that will be belt driven. Regards, Justin
  7. So Sparks, What would I need to do to use all this "free" vegetable oil that I can get? Would it be bad to start collecting it in 55 gallon drums until I'm ready to use it? I could fill up my storage space with 1000gallons of the stuff over the next 3-4 months while I'm working out the rest of the details. Regards, Justin
  8. I have an interest in this as well. My father is part owner of a small local chain of 7 grocery stores. I have access to all of the cooking oil from these stores. I haven't been able to utilize any of this oil due to my lack of the proper equipment and a diesel rig. Should I go for it since I have a good consistent hookup. What would be a good entry level entrance to this? I wanted to get a diesel vw rabbit, but they sell for $2500 around here. Justin
  9. I'm going to be doing x braced door bars on the driver and passenger side. I don't need the x brace in the back AFAIK. The motor combo I'm putting together should put down 1100whp. Should be enough to go 160's in the 1/4 from calculators I've seen. I just want the whole car to be as safe as possible. I'm not super concerned with adding weight in the rockers. I was planning to mount the main roll hoop to the 2X2 rocker bars, aswell as the A pillar down tubes. I figure this will make the car more rigid and keep the cage as far out of the passenger compartment as possible. I will be welding in two tubes that connect the rockers side to side. This will function as my seat mounts. I really would like to do a 25.2 chassis spec, but its alot more bars then I'd like. I'm just trying to build a chassis that will be safe, with minimal impact on the drivers compartment. I will be driving this car on the street so I'm trying to tuck the cage against the roof as right as possible. Also, I'm going to mount the seats as low as I can to keep my head away from the roof bars. I'll post pictures later of the revised cage as I intend to build it. Regards, Justin
  10. The rules are here: http://www.nhrasportcompact.com/2007/rules/2007rules.zip Also, heres a basic rendering I did in CAD of the cage I'll be putting in it: As you stated, there is no diagonal bar in the main hoop. Its not required. I think you can add additional bars as long as you have the required bars. Regards, Justin
  11. I'm putting a in a 8.50 certified cage for NHRA (8 point cage). It will be made from 1.625 X 0.085 wall thickness chromoly tubing. My seats will be mounted down on the floor for more head clearance to the roof bars. Regards, Justin
  12. I don't currently have a model for the Q45 throttle body. You can source them on ebay and other places I'm sure. I'm still not sure on the fuel rail cost. I'm planning on using -8 an fuel rail stock, drilled for o-ring injectors, two mounting holes, and tapped for -AN O ring fittings on the end. Regards, Justin
  13. This is actually for a drag car. No class. Just building a street strip car. I mainly wanted to reinforce the rockers for safety. Justin
