  1. Wow! Great work Shocker!!! BTW, get rid of the Unorthodox crank pulley. Your crank bearings will thank you! Justin
  2. I'll take some pictures of the seats when I get home. I will be mounting the sliders directly to the tubes with. The problem is the rockers are too high to tie into. I need to curve down from the rocker to hit the SFC. I was going to use the 1" X 2" rectangular tubing, but I would just be able to weld them to sheet metal and the SFC. Justin
  3. An F20C head flows more out of the box then the k20a. It variable valve timing isn't as good though. Take a f20c, long block, throw in a k24 crank, and appropriate rods and you will be making around 240whp. The stock f20c pistons are forged. The K series and F series share a ton in common in their design. Same bore spacing. Similar cylinder head design. Inline pro has made 300whp with a 2.7L k series with stock head, intake manifold, header and throttle body. These motors are very potent. To each their own. Regardless you would have a good amount of money tied up in building a f20c. Might as well do an ls1 if its all about hp/dollar. Justin
  4. I've just been looking at K24's for a fwd race car. Heres are a few that make 250whp: http://forums.evans-tuning.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4698 http://forums.evans-tuning.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4626 http://forums.evans-tuning.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3925 I don't see why it would be all that hard to make 250whp with a F20C in a race car. I was qualifying that you could do it on pump gas and low rpms. I'm just saying it can be done. I believe it is very doable on pump gas and sub 8000rpm. Hell, I would like to build one for e85 that was 14:1 CR and drive it around on the street. It would be fun as hell. BTW, you can use a TSX 2.4L crank in the f20C: http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0609turp_honda_f20c_stroker_build/index.html Justin
  5. So I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to mount the seats securely and narrow the transmission tunnel in my 280z. I want to make seat mounts that basically weld to the underside of the rockers. This should be a very secure way to mount them. I ordered the 1.25" die set for my bender yesterday. I will be using 1.25" X 0.065" CM tubing as I have some at the shop. I'm going to have to rework my exhaust a little, but its ok by me. Should I add any gussets or braces to this design? It will follow the lowest part of the sheet metal. I'm going to be doing bad dog rails at the same time. I figured I would weld these to the bad dog rails and box everything in with sheet metal. What about an X brace? Overkill?
  6. I would PM the picture poster: http://forums.hybridz.org/member.php?find=lastposter&t=102536 Justin
  7. Personally I would get a different set of wheels that fit the wheel well better. It looks like those have to little backspacing pushing the wheel and tire out too much. The wheels you have need flares. If you don't want flares, get a different set IMO. HTH, Justin
  8. Are you right hand drive? Here are some pictures of a 2JZGE in a right hand drive. Not mine btw: http://album.hybridz.org/showgallery.php?ppuser=12400&cat=500 I figure it should weigh similar, but slightly more due to the DOHC. With the same accesories, you should be close to the same weight. Not really worth worrying about. Justin
  9. I will investigate tonight the best I can to determine if its the fan or the core itself. I guess I'll pull the fan so I can get a good look at it. I think I'll try replacing the fan. unit in the shroud with another unit. Thanks Guys. Justin
  10. I'd go and look at a landcruiser for sale locally I'm interested in this as well. Its a good deal longer then the 2JZ. I'm more worried about the overall height. 2JZ flange vs 1FZFE manifold Here's a good thread I had started over at supraforums regarding the 1FZFE: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=472330 Justin
  11. Well I have a leaky heater that keeps my warm but also humidifies the inside of the car. It is leaking on in the passenger side foot well. So I'm going to be looking at replacing the heater core shortly or complete heater assembly soon. Has anyone adapter a heater out of another car for the S30? I just want heat, not AC. I'd like to upgrade the fan as it really doesn't blow air vary fast. Justin
  12. What a beautiful color! This is one of my all time favorites. It keeps the true s30 look, but just makes it better Justin
  13. I think the F20C would make a great motor for a track car that weighed near 2000lbs. They can make 250whp very easily. Justin
  14. I just really want a straight s30 that is pre 75 so that I never have to worry about DEQ regardless of where I live. I will be doing a cage that is good for 8.50's. I just don't want to have to fix a ton of rust issues if I don't have to. I'm not in a huge rush. I will wait until I find the right chassis to put the motor in. Justin
  15. I was interested in this one until I noticed it had a rag top http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/car/573174959.html Justin
  16. Racetech Fab does very good work. They did the initial cage for RREV's supra and Chris Bergmans Supra. They have done a ton of cages. I'd give Russ a call and see what he can do for you. http://smg.photobucket.com/alb...jects/ http://www.racetechfab.com/ Regards, Justin
  17. Are you primarily interested in a bolt in roll bar so that you can remove it down the road? There are some good cage fabricators in the area that could do a roll bar over a weekend. Really If I had time, I'd bend you up a main hoop as I have my car for a template. Justin
  18. Honestly I would just have it done locally. I have a Pro Tools bender that is brand new that you could borrow. I have the die set for 1.625" tubing. Justin
  19. I've been looking at getting a digital level for building my cage. Does anyone have any recommendations? Justin
  20. Bump, I got screwed out of another 260z that I was going to buy. Damn you Z car nuts. You seem to watch craigslist like hawks Justin PS, that shady 240z I posted about above is back on craigslist as a 76 280z: http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/car/570677642.html
  21. I've got the magnets here and will be using a titan motorsports cam gear. I'll post picture once I get it over to the machinist. Justin
  22. Well my 280z transmission tunnel needs to be cut and welded to make the seats fit properly. I'm going to weld in 1" X 2" X .083" square tubing for seat mounts. This should allow me to get the seats low enough to the floor. I appreciate the heads up on the seat angle. I wasn't sure about that. Justin
