Straight six is good to about 250hp N/A and about 350-400 Turbo Thats basicly with mild mods The engine itself has been taken to around 600hp turbo but thats a story for another day

Alright Car is 1976 280z Heres the thing i recently did an engine swap and swapped my old intake onto the new engine. (all wiring is the same) but theres one connector that i have no idea where it goes Its on a single harness the two cables are yellow and green I know one goes into the thermo no idea where the other goes basicly its two wires that merge into a signle holder for them its connected to the egr harness aswell

Of all the crap ive seen atleast this one has some truth to it if you where to hear the earth is flat first then you would most likely belive it

Atleast only the hood is damaged it couldve been much worse like your entire front end ruined and the body bent

AFM i will check as for manual The chilton had the wrong order according to this picture Could it be that the zx and the z engine have different mounts on the dist The z is much more cocked than the zx and points the to the thermo almost

I know the wires are right i got it to start a while ago after moving them but now it wont start anymore im assuming my timing is really really off Edit forgot to say the engine is N/A I can here the motor trying to start but its just to far off i belive

Alright plain and simple question howdo i change the position the dizzy is in im using a 76 dizzy on a 82 zx engine. Ive read that you must lift the dizzy slightly so you can spin it but this makes no sense becuase the notch wont be engaged. Is this how it normally works is the dizzy supposed to be free ontop of the notch for a second so i can get the timing right?

So my last engine i had went bad becuase of a oil pump problem so i have swapped in a 280zx engine and switched the intake and exhaust becuase i live in California and i need all the egr crap. Ofcourse the engine is all in everything is set up. I can tell im getting spark becuase i can here it catching when i put in ether. I know im getting gas becuase the fuel line shoots it out when its unplugged. That leads me to two possible explanations 1. Wiring gone wrong somewhere 2. Bad Injectors (all 6 of them) Im guessing its a combination i know the #1 and #2 injectors are gone. Also there are two bullet connectors they are spaced apart and do not goto the egr solenoid i know one connector goes into the thermo but i have no idea where the other goes. Also is there any comprehensive guide to setting up the wiring near the intake for a 76 280z. Any ideas help would be very helpfull

Heres some tips -If it is the fuel pump dont throw it away it might be possible that some parts have gotten locked up, Hard to explain but i read about there being a sort of part that can spin if this wont spin on its own its jammed unjam it. -if your pump is totally gone still dont throw it away give it to autozone they can give you a discount if you buy a new one and bring in the old one this works with a few z stores -its a good idea to replace the fuel filter along with the pump But anyways this reminds me of a time we used ether to move my brothers van my stepdad was on the hood spraying it into the intake and we managed to move it onto our sloped driveway

That has one clean engine though Considering i payed 400 bucks for a new engine for mine plus a 5 speed 100 bucks seems nice

As long as you dont put just a filter you will be good take in mind valve cover filter breathers are also illegal but im guessing theres already illegal stuff on your car
