Has anyone heard about this gmc is now using a fuel saving technique that shuts off 4 cylinder on there 8 cylinder engines sounds to me like someone had a little extra help on the idea. And for those who didnt know cadillac did this awhile back calling it the 4-6-8 very interesting imo

If you worried about weight i wouldnt worry the 280z is a much stronger design and can go on a diet to around 2300 pounds and probally lower If your planning to run a really powerfull motor the a turbo l series then the 280z stock will be able to hold itself together pretty well

Inline 5? Weird I guess ill look into how cheap these motors are to come by Edit Quick search on wikipedia they are only in the first gens but they are a 20 valve inline 5 Turbo design This seems like it could get some where /Whips out craigslist They are really expensive it seems

The Transmission Would most likely Not Bolt upto The VG As for the harness i dont belive it will work and you might need a turbo ecu aswell I am not 100% percent sure on the harness ill wait for another Hybridzer to chime in

Well thanks i help when i can Back on topic Before you decide to supercharge it i would have it checked make sure theres nothing extremely bad Also how many miles does this engine have on it might be time for a rebuild with the sc in mind
