  5. Heh definetly old heres my genious idea Shift at 6000 rpms lol j/k seriously though i never plan on going that high in the rpms considering that my engine is a. Old b. made for lower rpms but for people who go as far as 7500 more power to ya
  6. exhaust leak perhaps the smoke couldve been certain areas of the exhaust finally burning off whatever was on them

  9. Im pretty sure most radios wire up differntly so i wouldnt be worried if you harness is cut up

Dont worry a bout where you posted it Back on subject im guessing it wont bolt right in becuase of the interior of the zx is interily differnet but this is what i would do Goto a Pick N Pull or junkyard that lets you rome Find a Z Find a ZX rip out both dashes Try it if it doesnt work Hey you dont lsoe a dime

  13. Hmm I was thinking maybe i could just swap in the entire intake Theres a few other things i noticed the sensor near the oil filter is different. Looks like its the same as my old one. So the supposed t stat housing thats right below the radiator intake near the timing cover Right? Also probally last differnce. On the right side of the firewall there are to connectors to radiator hoses. One goes straight the the bottom right of the engine the other goes far up to the front of the right of the engine. On my old engine theres the hose connector but one end is crimped. On The new one that connecotr is there but that end isnt crimped. So where do the two hoses go on the firewall

So this weekend i happened to go by my local pick n pull and wow found me a 5 speed tranny and a new l28e (well you get my point by when i say new) So aside from a little water in the valve cover. The engine is great i just spent around 3 hours getting ready to remove my old dead one. Well anyways i got the engine but theres some catches. Firstly The distributor is different But i have a guide for making it work. Also the engines sensor seem to be slightly different. Instead of two prong and one bullet connectors infront of the radiator intake theres 1 prong and two bullets connectors. Can anyone give me an idea of what i have todo to make the engine work with the 280z Harness So far i have removed power steering pump and that turbine cooler thing since im getting an eletric fan anyways. Along with cleaning up all the old dilapaded wires.

  18. Your fan maybe set up without a thermostat which could leave it on always when running. That isny neccesarily bad. Just keep an eye on your battery charge
  19. Just a suggestion but i myself was looking at buying a toyota mr2 but seriously dont take other peoples word for it find something you like and then reasearch
  20. Alright so i have the dreaded turn signal doesnt work problem and have an idea. On the hazard switch there is five wires (we will be ignoring the fith since it goes to the lighbulb) One is ground the other is power and the two others go to the turn signals. What i know is that i get no power to my turn signal switch what i want todo is solder on another wire to the first power on the hazard this should completely bypass the hazard. What i want to know Would this work? The hazard should have the same power as the turn signal switch? What would cause me to get no power to my turn signal (take in mind ive cleaned the turn signal switch and the hazard.

  23. Probally a fuse blew Take in mind that for some guages ala ammeter you have to have other fuses is ex on my 280z the ammeter must have the normal fuses plus the dome light fuse in to work. (unplugged the dome light since i was constantly openeing and closing the door and killing the battery)
